  1. One of our biggest problems next season is going to be that every team we play will see us as their cup final. If we don't have players up for it we will be fucked.
  2. Strangely enough, given he's been shite this year, I actually think that given the right players around him (ie ones with pace and passing ability) he could be pretty important for us next season.
  3. I'd like us to try and nick joe mattock from leicester, young, pretty well rated and english Never seen the lad - have seen lewington and he is consistently their standout player - i think he would come to us aswell It would be a damning idictment of the club if he wouldn't.
  4. Gutherie's the worst. Only in his early 20's and I've never seen him last a game yet. But I agree the likes the Nolan and Duff are awfull too. Butt's legs have just gone.
  5. One thing we need to do is sign no players with a dodgy injury record. I've fucking had it with crocks. Some players with brains would be nice too.
  6. Seriously though we may as well consider this all now. No point looking back. Owen and Viduka are gone. We can't afford their wages now so there's no new contracts heading their way. Martins will no doubt already have been on to his agent and he is our best prospect of getting any decent money in. Barton will never play for us again. Coloccini and Jonas will be straight back to Spain along with Xisco (possibly on loan). I'd be pretty surprised if Enrique wasn't away too. Bassong will stay in the premier league and we'll do well to get three million given he only has a year left on his contract. Beye for me is a little more cloudy but I suspect he will be away. That leaves Ryan Taylor and Nolan who correct me if I'm wrong, can't move until January anyway. Taylor who might well show some loyalty to the club but could still show some attraction to premier league clubs despite many on here's opinion of him. Butt I think will stay I think as will Duff as I can't see anyone coming in for them. Personally I think we are left with. GK.Harper RB.R Taylor LB. None CB. S Taylor CB. None RW. None LW. Duff/Lovenkrands (I thing he might be worth trying to keep for the championship) CM. Butt/Smith CM. Nolan/Gutherie CF. Carroll CF. Shola Clearly we need a new left back, centreback (a solid experienced defender is essential), a midfielder with some creativity (fucking hell how long have we been saying this), a right winger who can cross a ball and at least one striker with pace. Piece off piss really.
  7. What a fucking goal to put us down. Typical of the luck we've had this season. I wouldn't try to claim we have been anything but deserving of relegation but when you look at how many things have gone against us it's staggering. I know supporters of all relegated teams will cry bad luck but really only the financial meltdown that Leeds suffered compares in premier league history. Anyway fuck it, fuck all the makems and any other cunt taking the piss lets look forward to next season and hope rather than piling more misery on us Ashley might just decide to try and take us back up by making some money available for our manager (Shearer hopefully) to spend.
  8. I've got more chance of shagging Angelina Jolie!
  9. The thing is now they've lost their business and are extremely unlikely to get away with it. They are going to end up without a pot to piss in. They should sue the bank for runing their lives (had they been in America they would probably get away with it too!).
  10. Didn't care much for it myself. Couldn't really put my finger on why but I just found it quite slow and pondering.
  11. To Be Or Not To Be 7.5/10. Hard to believe they managed to get away with this at the time it came out.
  12. I'm honestly not sure I can watch this. I might just try and sleep through it.
  13. I got bored after the first couple of lines and couldn't be arsed to finish reading it but generally I expect to have little sympathy from anyone if and when we go down. Most people like nothing better than to see a big name fail and seeing the same thing that happened to Leeds will please people the same as it pleased a lot of us then. As I'm typing this I've got the feeling that Stevie's controlling me here but the fact is that no one save their local rivals would care what happened to teams like the makems, the kiddie fiddlers (they don't even have any real rivals so no one cares at all), West Brom, Hull, Fullham, Portsmouth, Bolton, Blackburn, Stoke, etc. Teams like that don't make a difference to the league. But teams like us and Leeds have made a big impact in the premier league, we've got a history, we've got a massive following and everyone esle will enjoy taking the piss.
  14. I think the club has already been set back years so much so that I'm not sure whether relegation will set us that much further back. Which I guess was my actual point in starting this thread. If we had gone down under Souness I would have felt that it had set us back immeasurably but now I just feel we are pretty much there already and under Ashley we will continue that way whether or not we are in the top flight. Obviously I want us to stay up, I just fear that we are in for misery either way unless we are sold.
  15. There's very few occasions I've enjoyed anything about the football this season but whatever division we played in I would still enjoy going to the match.
  16. Absolutely not alex! Look at Fulham and have some fucking hope man! Well it obviously does tie in with that view whether you share that view or not. I suppose there's a much better chance of regime change, etc. if we stay up but what I was on about was more the idea that if it's not this season it's next season if the current lot are still running the show. Look at who is out of contract etc. Probably moot anyway though as I think it's all over bar the shouting. I hope I'm wrong obviously but being optimistic in relation to NUFC in my experience is like asking for a kick in the stotts. I get what your saying like, but the big question is, Would you rather stay in the Premiership and get beat week in and week out or go to a low standard League and win it! For me personally I would rather be in the Premiership as I think we have maximum chance of staying up and doing well next season if we escape the drop this season. I don't see where that optimism comes from like. Up or down I doubt we'll do well next season although being that it costs less to do well in a lower division I would say we have a better chance of doing well in the championship (I'm not arguing that I would rather see us do well in the championship than poorly in the premier league btw).
  17. Given the current standard of what we have to watch a better comparission would be between Bella Emberg and HattiE Jacques!! FYP Damn I even checked the spelling too

  19. Very interested in seeing this after reading that. Reminds me that I should see Mandalay too!
  20. Don't get me wrong I am dreading it (so much so that I don't know if I can bring myself to watch on Sunday) and I will be devestated if and when it does happen. I'm just suggesting that very little will change for us and it will just hurt our pride more.
  21. Well this is where you would need to know exactly what the rule is. I would suspect that it's wording makes anything other than playing the under 12 team fine. And if that's the case then there's no argument. I would argue though that the damage they could do by playing a weak team would be no different than the so called advantage West Ham had by playing Tevez.
  22. That's exactly it. We are a nothing now and in the end if that's what you are does it matter what division you are. I'm sure fans of little clubs across the country would say I'm talking utter shite but when you've been challenging for the league not too many years ago getting promoted just so you can bravely battle against relegation the next season doesn't really appeal any more. Even in the dark days before John Hall bought the club at least we still had the hope that if someone came in and spend a bit of money (even if like Hall they did it just so they could get more out the back end) they could transform the club. In the current football climate the amount of money needed would be so massive that it takes the likes of Citeh's owners to have a chance and I'm afraid there just aren't many of them about.
  23. I agree with this but if there is a rule that you have to play a strong squad it should be enforced without us needing to take action. At the end of the day though it won't be Manure that I will be complaining about come Sunday night.
