  1. you need to see some tarkovksy if you liked The Return so much... Stalker's one of his isn't it? I started watching that the other day but was too tired. Ghost Town 6/10. Enjoyable enough for what it was but Hollywood really don't know what to do with Ricky Gervais do they. King Of New York 8/10. One of the best crime films from the the early 90's and it's always fun to see David Caruso getting his head blown off!
  2. Could see Ashley having one final kick at us by doing this like. But the article doesn't offer one once of evidence!
  3. Actually I think it doesn't look quite as bad but still pretty fucking awful.
  4. Bringing Out The Dead 6/10. Unusual film for Scorsese and Cage but it's a reminder that he can actually act when he puts his mind to it. Didn't think it was that great overall though. Finding Nemo 9/10. Totally forgotten how good this one is. The Incredibles 9/10. The bairn's been poorly so I managed to get these on instead of Dora! The Wrong Man 8/10. Lesser known Hitchcock that isn't his usual suspnse thriller but more of a study of how being falsely accused (and almost convicted) of a crime you haven't committed can almost destroy even a perfectly innocent man. Very good with Henry Fonda superb as ever.
  5. Fiver in the club shop by the end of the season. Even then anyone that buys it wants their head examining.
  6. Another parting shot from I Ashley I think. I agree with Stevie it ranks right up with the horrific purple, orange and green number (otherwise known as the top that stopped me from buying strips). And if it looks bad on the players just think about how bad it will look on your average beer gut!
  7. Leonard Cohen. Anyone see the 2008 live performance on BBC 4 the other night. Class stuff.
  8. I think Blueberry Boat is my favorite. I really can't get into them at all. Too many changes of pace in their songs, just as I start liking something it all goes pear shaped. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca. Theres some very good stuff on there but after a couple of listens I'm not yet sold as a whole. Was enjoying the new Eels album earlier. Not necessarily their best stuff but still well worth a listen despite some awfull reviews.
  9. I've heard from Pedro's brother that Shearer is going to be confirmed tomorrow. Not sure how much of and itk Beardo is now like but here's hoping as I would think that giving him the job must mean that something is well under way.
  10. It's staggering he's gone down this path. Pud put's forward perfectly reasonable questions to his ramblings and he does the equivelant of putting his fingers in his ears and shouting la la la I'm not listening to you. I really would like to see this get out to a wider audience to show him up for the fool he is. I still think the original article while not being anti Newcastle is condesending in its general tone.
  11. Fucking hell he just becomes more of a cunt with every word her utters. It's absolutely staggering that he's suggesting that in the current financial climate there are a couple of hundred thousand fans who are able to stump up nearly £400 each. Even if we do have two hundred thousand fans how many of them are children? Add this the fact that no where does he address the problems that we would have continuing to finance the club at a basic level (let alone to a level of success which would cost north of a further £100m in player purchases let alone wages) if we were to buy the club. This goes beyond just being a shit article from a wankpot jouralist it's so completely ridiculous it's staggering that it ever got printed. And then he tries to defend himself by suggesting that unless we invest we can't love the club or be true fans. Fucking hell, which professional clubs thoughout the world are ran like this? Are Barca and Bilbao the only real fans in the word (along with Ashley, Abromovic Whelan etc who put their own money in so they must all just be true fans)? It defies beleif that he can get this shite out there in first place but to then defend it as anything more than a tongue in cheek little effort just makes him look like he's got his own agenda. Could he be on Ashely's payroll too beacuse it just sounds like someone throwing their toys out of the pram and saying well if you think it's so easy you do it. Cunt!
  12. Patronising response after a patronising article in the first place. And the if NU fans won't put their hands in their pockets comment is a fucking disgrace tbh. I'd like to know on how many occassions "since the Westwood days" he's actually paid his own money to come to St James'. We're the ones who've been funding the club since those days and before and he has the nerve to say we aren't pasionate about our club. Rank him alongside Bruce. Cunt!
  13. The Asphalt Jungle 8/10. Classic work from John Huston & Sterling Hayden. Manhatten Murder Mystery 9/10. My favourite Allen film (although I've only seen about five) mainly because it seems to have more of a plot than the others.
  14. Talk Sport were claiming the other day that Tevez to Citeh was a done deal. Where are Madrid getting all of this money from? I know they are one of (if not the) biggest clubs in the world but £140m on two players with every chance they will cough up another £30+ for Villa is Arab type money. I wouldn't have thought they would have that tbh.
  15. Enrique is one of our best players and one who I can see doing very well in the future. But the rest of them is to be expected and in most cases hoped tbf. Still hardly the way to go about things if we want to have any hope of doing well next season or getting decent money in for them.
  16. I thought it was sub-standard to be honest. A few funny lines but utterly forgettable. Up there with Run Fatboy, Run. I think it just came up at the right time when I was fancying some mindless fluff. But I found Pegg quite entertaining and Bridges is always value for money.
  17. How To Lose Friends And Alienate People 7/10. Let down by the predictable end but thoroughly enjoyed it otherwise. I'm starting to come round to Pegg more now.
  18. Anyone know what sort of resources this lot have? Not that it really matters at this stage like. Anyone who actually wants to run the club is a step up.
  19. Knowing our luck it will be Souness!
  20. Unless the any new buyers are uber billionaires who are willing to put hundreds of millions in to the squad then I can't think of anyone who could do more for us than Shearer at the minute. And if thery were then they could afford to pay off any contract Shearer had. I don't think appointing him would hamper the sale in any way and it might give us a bit of a chance to prepare for next season.
  21. Very true but putting the whole squad up for sale means we look absolutely desperate and will get a lot less than their true worth and the fat cunt will pocket all of the money so we will not only have to buy a new team but we won't have the funds to do it. This is a fucking desperate situation which ever way you look at it.
