  1. That team would get tewatted iyam. Martins up front and Lovenkrands on the left were they actually play makes much more sense and Taylor on the wing? He is a centreback and nothing more, R Taylor is a fullback so it's no surprise that he's been shit on wing. Why not play Jonas on the right wing given that he's a winger and right footed. I know his crossing and shooting has been called into question but he's still been one of our best players this season and is a good grafter which is very important for us.
  2. I can't understand why anyone would want to watch a film like that without the finished effects. I decent copy will be knocking about soon enough. The Lady From Shanghai 8/10. Quality Film Noir despite Welle's terrible accent.
  3. Fucking hell how many players are you wanting to play out of position there?
  4. I'm just hoping for him to go with some bizarre sort of system like playing right footed players on the right and left footers on the left. You some sort of crazy shit like that.
  5. Fucking hell, why couldn't this have happened months ago. It would have been the best day ever were we not already completely fucked!
  6. It was one of the best programmes in recent memory. Far too young for anyone that. RIP
  7. Yeah imagine the number of security guards he would need then to go to a match (could he fit forty thousand of them in?).
  8. Cynical bastard that I can be, you've probably just mentioned the reason that Ashley chose the big man. Bad ticket sales + Alan Shearer = much better ticket sales Well it seems to be his one clue about how to run the club. Whenever we get in the shit just bring a legend in to pull us out. If we are back to this situation next year he's gonna need someone who can raise the dead to bring in one of Jackie Milburn, Joe Harvey or Hughie Gallagher in.
  9. Good post Snakey, no doubt people will accuse him of only coming for (what will no doubt be a massive) payout but I honestly believe he does love the club and as you say sees exactly what is happening and wants to do whatever he can. It may not be enough that's the fault of others.
  10. My initial reaction to this is too little too late. Had it been done before the Bolton game then we could quite possibly have manage a win against them and Hull and we'd be sitting (relatively) pretty with five more points putting us in 12th two ahead of Hull and the scum and three ahead of Bolton. However at least it is something that will get the crowd going and hopefully the players too and if there is any long term future in it (in the premiership or championship) then it must surely mean the end of that odious cunt Wise here (I think it looks like we'll be stuck with JFK in some capacity regardless). Hopefully it will be enough to get us something at Stoke and those three crucial home games as I can't really see us picking much up anywhere else. At least it's nice to wake up to something positive coming from the club for once!
  11. Keirrison, Marquinhous, Angel Di Maria, Kuzmanavic, Javi Maria & Joe Mattock. I have already proven that these players would take us to the champions league and put five past Manure at old trafford!
  12. didn't Scott turn down the best actor Oscar for that role ? Aye I think your right. Don't know who he was up against but I can imagine it was fully deserved.
  13. Patton 8/10. Classic war movie and biopic of a mental general. George C Scott is great as ever. The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover 6/10. Gambon is outstanding as the vile Spica and it looks stunning but I didn't really get what they were trying to do with it.
  14. Quick Change 9/10. Nude women, nude women, clowns welcome, nude women. Class Murrays funniest film. School For Scoundrels 8/10. Could have done with more Alisatair Sim and Terry Thomas but still a classic English comedy.
  15. Lone Star 8/10. Got it on video when it came out and was left really disapointed as I was expecting more of a thriller but caught again on TCM the other night and can't understand how I missed out on how good a film this is.
  16. Fucking hell, whatever he's one is far better than I had on Saturday night.

    The ship

Keegan has definitely left us in the mire, I don't think there's any doubt about that. If he has stayed I think we would have more points now (possibly enough to already be safe or at least where Spurs are now). But the reason he left is the reason we are in the mire and that's Ashley and his band of merry mongers. Keegan doesn't deserve and special credit for leaving (a better option for us would have been for him to stay and attack them from within), I don't believe he was thinking with the fans best interests he was thinking about himself (which by the way is probably just exactly the same as anyone else in his position would do). But the arguments about him shouldn't deflect the blame away from where it truly lies. Ashley, through either incompentence or malicious intent, is making Shepherd look like a football genius. In two years he a stumbled from one tragedy to another and as long as he is here it is only likely to get worse. When the inevitable happens (we will go down next season if a miracle happens this one) I see us as less likely to come straight back up than we did last time.
  18. Come on you scouse cunts even we managed to beat Portsmouth!
  19. Yes I think we are. When our you see Stokes home record that suddenly looks like anything but an easy win and we're basically basing our hopes of survival on three home games in a row against Fulham, Portsmouth and Boro. But when was the last time we won three home games in a row. We have failled to beat Stoke, Hull, Blackburn, The Makems, Citeh, West Ham and Wigan at home this season (hardly any of the Premiership big names there) and struggled to get past WBA and Bolton (and the that was when we had Keegan) so I'm not at all confident of winning those games. When you look at some of the other teams fixtures they look tough too but unless someone stays up with the lowest points total ever (by a long way) I just don't think we will amass enough points.
  20. If you watch the whole interview it's interesting to note that he says something about hoping that someone will come in in the summer and change things. Not sure if he meant owner or manager but I didn't get the impression he was talking about players.
  21. Great film. The other 2 are quality too. Aye courtesy of Happy Face I have all three of them so I expect I will watch them soon. Shame that Frank isn't in those two though!
  22. Getting it's first listen from me now. I think it's bloody terrific. Initial opinion is it's better than the Crane Wife...and as good as Picaresque. It's grown on me a lot like. The tracks where they go a bit Sabbath are the best for me plus Shara Worden is a fantastic addition. I like it a lot more than I did last week, for sure. I'm really starting to love it now. The Hazards of Love 3 (Revenge!) has been on repeat all morning. Supoib I do a little spunk up when the hapsicord starts. I do another when the moog (or whatever) kicks off and one last one when the big "boom crash" drums start. The schoolgirl choir, and cymbals throughout are lush too. Perfection. Cack, I vowed to wait until the UK release date and actually buy the thing, but it's getting mighty difficult the way you two are going on. Giving this a first listen now and it seems pretty impressive so far like.
  23. Pusher 8/10. Quality film. The director and lead actor deserve a lot of credit for being able to make to care about a character who is both stupid and a cunt. Looking forward to the rest of the trilogy.
