  1. Probably be alright if we could find someone with a decent football brain. Yeah I though that would be the tricky part. It's not something that we usually manage to do tbh!
  2. It's also good news for us as he has apparently been playing well for Blackburn recently so it may rock them a bit.
  3. I see he broke his leg last night! I never wish to see players pick up bad injuries but I have to say it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke
  4. Be worth going just for The Jesus & Mary Chain tbh.
  5. For the record, I am not really saying that we should sign someone from Germany, but rather wanted to demonstrate that when looking at the inflated English fees and Newcastle's balance sheets it probably might be worth to look ("scout") abroad as well. I'm sure there are dozens of other, likely to be even better, solutions to be found. Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was taking the piss or anything just putting forward an option that is more likely as the scouting network the club has probably less knowledge of the players you mention than I have And for the record I agree with the inflated price thing, I just guess that is something we will most likely have to live with given the above!
  6. I was wondering about that myself. I know he was out for a long time with a bad injury but I didn't know if he'd had other problems.
  7. Gemmill do you even have an argument/a point/thoughts/a brain ? Easy to sit back and try (unsuccessfully i might add) to pick holes in someone else's argument without offering positive thoughts on a route forward yourself. My point is simply this: 1. We are not going to be able to sign a John Terry or a Rio. 2. We 've paid big money for the likes of Boumsong, Shambles and have even brought in experienced Full backs in Car and baba and it hasn't worked out, (failed miserably in fact). Should we 'A' panic and sign another big money defender i.e. Curtis for £9m who may well turn out to be another flop like Shambles or Boum or should we 'B' let pearson work with the very promising potential, crop of youngster defenders and mould them into quality players? Taylor is our future in defence build round him. When i put it like this, surely even Gemmill can figure it out the right move. I don't know how you dare accuse me of having no brain, with some of the thick as pigshit stuff you spout on here. "Let's stick with the current defenders that we have. They might just come good." Have you heard of C. Sign an experienced centre-half? Or are you only allowing yourself the two options, you fucking numbskull. OOOooo don't let me get to you Gemmy baby And who exactly would you have us sign? Give an example? P.s. Not a bad sugestion though for you, who did you steal it off? Honestly mate, you're an idiot and you prove it every time you post on here. A month back you posted your starting 11 if everyone at the club was fit, and it featured Duff at left back. A left winger at left back. A few weeks have passed and now you say that we need sign no defenders despite that fact that you think our best left back is a left winger. Keep up the good work. In future, stick to your TEAM FOR A MATCH 3 WEEKS FROM NOW and PLAYER RATINGS threads. Clearly logical thought is not your strong point. Been doing your homework and checking back on all my old posts to see if you can dig up any dirt i see. Didn't find any ??? Oh dear thats the best you could come up with? You really are a complete Div aren't you??? How can anyone be expected to stick with the same team for three weeks bearing in mind the squad is different week in week out with little things you may have heard of such as INJURIES (players missing because of them and players returning from them) SUSPENSIONS (players missing because of them and players returning from them) not to mention FORM (a player who has played badly, you may want to replace with another)!!! And u have the nerve to call me a Numbskull .. when you think its strange people changing their teams around a bit, more often than every three weeks!!!! Your laughably thick!!!
  8. Upson is the blindingly obvious choice to me(since I don't have any knowlege of German football). He's an experienced quality centreback who would come here I'm sure and who's club will let him leave (albeit at an inflated fee).

OOOooo don't let me get to you Gemmy baby And who exactly would you have us sign? Give an example? Not my job to give examples. It's up to the club to establish a scouting network that does this for them. Sticking with the current back line on the off-chance that Edgar and Huntington just might make it as Premiership players is crazy though. How many goals have we conceded in January alone? And you want to persevere with this defence. Interesting as well that in your team for Villa you've selected Duff at left-back. Good way of demonstrating your faith in the defenders you say we should be sticking with. Ok ..... so your not going to give any examples....??? ..... what a surprise. I notice that you haven't even thought up a team V Villa for tomorrows game (what a shocker) just trying to pick holes again without offering your own arguments i see. Very easy to sit on your fat behind and critize everone else, much harder to come up with your own arguments of course. Other than Baba, Duff is the only natural left footer we have who i know is capable of playing LB. I personally happen to think that we should really go for Villa from the off after our very poor starts lately and that is our best team in order to do that. None of Taylor, Ramage, Hunty or Edgar (despite his impressive performance v Man u) are left footers or even Fullbacks dipshit, so yes its Duff for me ! You're not helping yourself are you?
  10. Aye fair point, I forgot about Woody. Mind you players of his calibre don't often come along!
  11. Aye, to most people, it's plainly obvious that with promising young players at the club, you need an old head playing alongside them for them to learn from, and to allow them to develop at a reasonable pace. For some reason the fucking divvy in charge seems to want to assemble a back 4 with an average age of around 21. Robson seemed to want to do the same thing too!
  12. I think Taylor has been doing really well in recent weeks and is showing he has the potential to be a good premiership player. But like any young player he is prone to making mistakes and will continue to do that until he matures as a player. Which is why I think Roeder is foolish looking at players like Anton Ferdinand and Curtis Davies who are both going to have the same problems and will have the same problem here that Bramble has had (i.e. no older experienced player to learn from).
  13. If we say they're both shit, can we call it even? Ok then
  14. At least when Ramage heads the ball it doesn't just go straight up in the air every single time. But please don't get me started on O'Brien!
  15. This Weren't you one of Andy O'Brien's fiercest critics Mr Kelly. I like to think of myself as his most fierce But I never sat booing him at the match or anything like that because no matter how shite he was (and I think he was far worse than Ramage) he always tried his best. It wasn't his fault Robson kept faith with him no matter how badly he played.
  16. I'd give my all if I was playing for Newcastle, I'd be shit though and I'd deserve the abuse i'd get for being so incompetent at my job. Ramage is a fucking useless footballer who, if there was any justice in the world, would be playing in at least League One by now. Players like him are the reason we are so incompetent at the back and will never go anywhere. No you would deserve pity is imagine. Ramage is trying his best to his job and it's not his fault if he doesn't have the ability then it's the managements fault for not having put someone in place who can. Personally I don't think he's anything like as bad as some would make him out but I agree we should have better than him available to us. Mind you he's only forth choice and I would doubt many other clubs have better than him as their forth choice centreback!
  17. Great point. Not one pundit has said, "well it happened against Newcastle on Wednesday so they deserve their bit of luck" or whatever. Much as a i hate Rennie and would be happy to see him demoted, the Brum one was far, far worse. The player was further offisde than Parker and physically obstructed Given from moving, rather than just getting in his line of vision. So if they're going to be consistent then the ref or linesman from the Brum game should suffer at least the fate of Rennie. Why is it Rennie and not the linesman getting done? Surely it's his job, not Rennie's to call offsides? (Or did he flag and get overruled?) It seemed from BBC commentary that the linesman flagged offside and Rennie overruled, but i couldn't confirm that. Aye I heard that also, it was on 606 IIRC? If he did flag (and I'm not convinced he did) he put it straight down well before the players started chasing over there.
  18. Rammage was doing ok with Taylor (who was looking brilliant) before his injury. Since he came back though he's had a really awfull run of games and I think everyone was relieved when he had to go off on Saturday. But anyone like Ramage who gives his all every game doesn't deserve to to be abused. Any player is fair game for criticism but sometimes people go way over the top. I can understand it for players like Luque or Marcelino who don't give a fuck but if someone's trying their best (whether they are good enough or not) they deserve better.
  19. Yeah I read that too. She's also lost out on a couple of contracts apparently. Jo's also had a gig at G.A.Y cancelled too. Hope it keeps going like this and when they come out they realise how much they're in the shit, because the 2 remaining bitches are probably too think to relaise its not just Jade who's in for it and think they've escaped! Yeah I hate think people
  20. I bought a new pair of Nike keepers gloves yesterday. Sixteen quid instead if forty five!
  21. Aye Open Range is very good. Watched Battle Royale last night and really enjoyed it. The plot was ridiculous and full of holes but the writer/director handled it really well and it never felt stupid like it could have. The action was impressive and the main characters were really good. I see the sequal is on next week and was going to ask if it's worth watching but I see that question has already been answered.
  22. I was going to be shocked then remembered you don't watch subtitled films. It's brilliant. Didn't watch subtitled films, I've watched Amelie, Seven Samurai and A Very Long Engagement in recent weeks. All of which (particularly the French ones) I've enjoyed so I'm actively looking to increase my subtitled watching.
  23. Has anyone seen Battle Royale? I noticed it's on Film 4 tomorrow night and wondered if it's worth recording?
