Great film but I still prefer Aliens which is one the select sequels to improve on the original film.

There's a difference between having a goal and actually believing it will happen. Anyway, automatic qualification for the UEFA cup and winning the league cup would be a much more realistic and achievable goal. If you aim for a champions league spot and just miss it you will most likely the wafa cup spot anyway though. I agree about the league cup though, it's ridiculous how little focus we've given it in the past!

I think both he and N'Zogbia are suffering because of having no one behind them to link up with. No matter how well Rammage/Huntington/Edgar do in a game it's basically as an out on the left centreback. They offer nothing in an attacking sense (other than goals against Manure & Spurs ) so whoever plays on the left is left isolated. Seriously watch out for it, it's like playing with 9 men at times because we simply can't use the left.

I think if you compare Martins price with some of the ridiculous fees for players in England, it does put things into perspective. And I am still not really convinced about Martins yet. I also can understand the transfer of Duff, because it was just an unlikely opportunity coming along. Rossi was a decent choice considering is reputation. Bernard was a joke and so was Le Sib, who might (occasionally) not look as bad as most feared, but simply is just a mediocre player for a bottom half team. I disagree with Duff because we simply didn't need him (given that we had N'Zogbia and Milner who could play there) and had far more pressing concerns. With regards to Rossi, he just didn't fit into our team with Martins (who given the price if nothing else was going to be first choice) and Roeder just didn't know how to use him. If we'd ended up signing Kuyt instead of Martins it might have made sense but as it is, it just looks totally like a panic move.

Aye with this squad (even with Owen & Shola back) and the past evidence of our ability in transfer windows it's not looking at all posible that we could break back into the top four. There's no club below those four that's anything to worry about though.

We should really be looking to challenge for a champions league place other wise where are we looking to go. It will be very difficult beating any of those four but it's no point setting yourself a target of staying in the division (which I think was the target fatty set this term). Plus Liverpool and Arse (while miles better than us) are still more than capable of losing a good number of poor points so it's not ridiculous to try and challenge them.

I have no confidence at all in Roeder finding the right players tbh. The list of players we are told he wants suggest to me that he hasn't got the first fucking clue. Martins is looking like a canny (if overpriced) buy and Le Sib has done very well considering he's not good enough. But Duff, Bernard and Rossi were all poor signings

None that are good enough by the look of it because we're playing Huntington at left back, who looks out of position and out of his depth. You have to cut the lad a lot of slack though because a) he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team, and b ) he certainly shouldn't be at left back. Bloke two seats along from me last night was ranting about Huntington - at one point he lost the ball, recovered but gave away a corner because of it. There was a ripple of applause for him recovering to get the challenge in. This tit was going "If that was Peter Ramage you'd be fucking going mental at him, but here people are clapping cos he lost his man then gave away a corner. He should be getting bollocked." Yeah, that's the way to treat a kid out of his depth and in the wrong position. :good: He makes a good point but it's probably not the one he meant to make. Rammage deserves slack for exactly the same reasons and both (all our players actually - except Carr ) should get encouragement when they do something right!

I would imagine that thoses LBs that were good enough either: 1. we could not afford or 2. simply would not come here Those are two things I think NUFC and its fans are going to have to get used to. But the sort of strikers and CBs and LBs we're after you're probably talking £6,000,000+ at least for, and it seems we don't have the cash, at least not in January, for 2 or 3 of those at the moment.

I am truely staggered that we have managed to fuck up another transfer window so badly that we didn't manage to get a leftback in (even on loan). I agree with Roeder's policy of only wanting to bring in players who are good enough to be here in the long term but with but we are absolutely desperate for a proper left back that I cannot believe we could not get someone in who would improve us. Our only two so called leftbacks are a complete waste of time. Babayarou only plays when he feels like it (I predict no more than five more games for him between now and the end of the season) and Bernard is obviously not going to play for us again. Playing right footed centreback there limits us so much that it's like playing with ten men going forward as whoever plays there offers no link up at all with our left winger which I have no doubt has greatly contributed to Duff and N'Zogbia struggling so badly for form this season. This is in turn causing us to be put under more pressure at the back which is why we haven't kept a clean sheet for so long. I know there's basically fuck all we can do now that the transfer window is shut but I am just so pissed off that our so called management are so stupid that they either can't see how big a problem it is or can't work our that there must be shit loads of players we could have brought in to massive effect.

Very true although while it may stop him from becoming a top class international he could still be a very important player for us.

What's worrying after last nights game is that the new lad will probably come in ahead of Taylor on Saturday despite Bramble being a fucking liability. He causes panic in the rest of the players, he can't mark (one occassion Taylor was screaming at him to pick up Young and he just wandered away from him allowing Young to get clean through and shoot, fortunately straight at Harper) and lost virtually everything in the air against Carew (somewhat understandable) and Young (ridiculous given the size difference). If he get's a new contract Roeder should be sacked on the spot!

I would agree with that. Milner has been coming on really well recently. His crossing while still hit and miss is at least Hit a lot more now and is shooting has be excellent in recent weeks.

Dogville. Very good. I can't say that I stopped noticing the fact that is was basically filmed on a blank stage (in fact I think it's something you are supposed to notice) but it definitely didn't stop me from enjoying the film immensely. Despite it's near three hour length it never seemed long or drawn out.

The films aren't related and the Blue Dahlia came out a few months before the actual real murder case. Which possibly accounts, in part, for the nickname given to the actress who was killed.
