I don't like them (they're a piss poor club with piss poor fans that have nothing going for them but a good chairman) but it's nothing close to a propper derby to me and I wouldn't really be any more pissed off to lose to them than I would be to lose to any other pile of shite.

U2 and that bint doing One was fucking awful and I've heard a version of Creep done by Dylan that is too bad for words (although I'm not convinced it's real). Cowboy Junkies version of Sweet Jane is good and of course The Jam's version of the Batman theme is class.

A Scanner Darkly. Not sure why they felt the need to do the animation as the fact that it looked as good as it did just distracted me at times. That said I thought it was a good film with much more to think about than most adaptations of Dick's work (which I've never read but I'm told is much closer in tone to this than any of the other films). -

One good film followed by a load of crap. I've quite liked all of his films tbh. Sixth Sense is the best I agree but there's been at least part of all of the rest I've enjoyed. Not great works of art by any means but a decent watch. -
Fuck, when was that on? Really interested to see this after watching Mulholland Drive. Lynch's new one (INLAND EMPIRE) is supposed to be really good.

The Blue Dahlia - Pretty good early film noir wrote by Raymond Chandler. Alan Ladd is canny in the lead but doesn't have the same appeal as the likes of Bogart. Lana Turner is good as the 'femme fatale' though. The Lady In The Water - If you like the rest of Shyamalan's work (which I have to say I do) I think you would like this. I thought it was quite a bit better than The Village (which I thought was ok) and a pretty good fantasy story. Brazil - Generally people seem to either love or hate this but I found myself coming somewhere in the middle. It's a fantastic world that TG has created and there are some great performances, particularly De Niro who is hilarious, but I felt it fell some way short of Twelve Monkeys which I think is Gilliam's high point. -

Not really, I only understood it on a superficial level. It looked great and held the tension well, but I'm not sure what the fuck it was all 'about'. Not sure what was real and imagined by which charactersor who was good and bad. Why was the old woman wearing the kids mac? All that stuff. That's the best bit of films, working it out a bit more. Scary though, wasn't she? If you didn't try to work out a film afterwards then you could never enjoy any of David Lynch's films surely. I generally find they're great to look at but don't understand at least half of them while I'm watching. Apart from 'Wild at Heart'. That's David Lynch-lite though tbf. Class all the same. I was thinking the very same thing as I was typing tbh! -

Yes! Truffaut is such a tool! Best - Woman Of The Dunes, Cries & Whispers, The Discreet Charm Of The Bourgeoisie, Amadeus, Ikiru, Mirror, Taxi Driver Worst - The Brown Bunny, Igby Goes Down, United States Of Leland It is without doubt the most boring film I've ever sat through. Other than Taxi Driver and Amadeus, I've not heard of any of your other fav's. I'll have to look them up.

Tried a couple of albums. Not fussed on them. Not a fan of Sigur Ros either (arjen robben or whatever it was called was ok). Too impatient to get to the lovely bit to sit through 20 minutes of preamble. Some would contest that it's all about build-up and release of tension. Personally I have to be in the right mood. Not really a fan of S.R. though. Always tempted to stick all the 'lovely bits' together. Although not long songs, take something like 'The Falconer' by Nico or 'Mask' by Bauhaus. They're both very ugly songs for a significant length of time, but when they suddenly shift into a beautiful bit, it makes it seem all the better. The impact would be notably lessened if it was just 4 minutes of pretty music. Same of Scott Walker's 'The Electrician.' Always in awe of your knowledge Patricia. Lovely voice when he gets going. He's fucking frightening the rest of the time though!

Aye I wouldn't fancy our chances against either of them unless we had our full team available (i.e. with Owen, Shola(for on the bench), Emre & N'Zogbia all fit and Carr injured) and even then I would expect them to be heavy favourites.

Some nice long GSYBE songs are what you want. That way at least it will take you a while to listen to them!

Forrest Gump is class tbh. It's fucking gash, and I like Hanks.

Lemon & sugar on pancake day but I would happily take them with various different sweet fillings as a sweet course of a meal. I imagine cheese would be nice too.

I think 12 Angry Men & The Maltese Falcon are the two films that I can always watch to the end from whatever point they're at if they're on the telly.
-
Best from; Maltese Falcon, TGTBATU, Seven, Pulp Fiction, 12 Angry Men, LA Confidential, China Town, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, The Godfather, The Terminator, North By North West and many more. Worst; The 400 Blows, ET, Forest Gump, Titanic.

I like Reo Coker quite a bit. Whenever I've seen him play he seems to be always involved in the game (something I find can be lacking from our players, especially away from home). Ashton would be a good signing but I can't see how we can expect to keep him Owen, Martins and Shola happy. Chelski, Manure & Liverpool all have problems keeping top forwards happy and they are in the champions league and challenging for the title (well the bin dippers obviously aren't). And we haven't managed it in the past either. I'm not sure Ferdinand is poor like some are saying (I think he could turn out to be a very good player) but at the minute he's not of the level we need and he's just too young. We need and experienced head back there. Nobby is showing how much a quality experienced player can do for us and I think this would be much more if we could get an experienced centreback.

The remake is on the way. EDIT: Seems to have been scrapped now. I was nearly looking like a right tit there I should have said they could have never come up with something like this on their own! -

Old Boy. Without doubt the best Korean film I've ever seen. Fucking bizarre and quite disturbing in the end (which I did guess). I can't imagine a film like this ever being made in America. -
I took it as a bit of over enthusiasm (something I would never have accused him of before). He just seemed like he wanted to get the ball back and get on with attacking them. Stupid thing to do though.
