  1. Sometimes you simply can't afford to buy everything you want (I buy loads tbf) and you just want a copy (from a disk or just off the telly). Most things that I've ever had a copy of I will eventually buy anyway because I like to have the whole package.
  2. Can anyone recommend any good (and free) dvd copy software (for purely back up purposes only of course ) Ta
  3. Manhunter is brilliant but and Cox is superb but I think you have to go a long way to surpass Hopkins in Silence. Assault isn't sci-fi as far as I can remember. Might give Hero a try tonight.
  4. The 400 Blows. Supposedly classic French film from the 60s(?). I have to admit I turned it off before the end, 75 minutes was more than enough to be bored out of my mind. It may be well made or realistic but nothing at all interesting happens. My worst taste of subtitled films so far. Ice Age 2 - An enjoyable film with the possum characters adding something to original team. Pirates Of The Caribbean 2. Not as good as first one, too many threads all going on at once for a film of this type. Johnny Depp wasn't nearly as funny as in the first one and Geoffrey Rush was sadly missed. Hopefully his inclusion in the third will liven it up. I also started watching Downfall which is a fascinating look at the last days of Hitler and his cronies. It shows them all as human beings (albeit deranged ones) and not the monsters that they usually appear as. I'm very keen to see the rest of it.
  5. I never thought Roeder was the man to lead us in the first place but tbf he has done well in difficult circumstances this season. His team selection on Saturday shows why we were all worried in the first place though. For most of the season he's had next to no options in nearly every position but finally he had some options at the back and he completley blew it. Carr and Bramble are fucking clowns who cause panic in the rest of the team whenever they play and have cost us countless points. Nobby (along with Butt and probably Milner) has been our best player this season since moving to rightback . His positional sense is better than any of our other defenders and he talks to the rest of them and seems to organise us into something like a defence. To leave him on the bench is a fucking disgrace and shows Roeder up for the numpty he is.
  6. I was all in favour of us signing Carr as I thought he was excellent at Spurs. But much like our management I should have listened when I was told he had never recovered from the bad injury he had. He's been poor (at best) since he arrived here and this season he's fell way short of that.
  7. What's important is actually doing something about it and trying to keep us on side by spouting meaningless shite.
  8. Can people please stop talking about Martins getting injured. You're gonna jinx him man!
  9. The problem is more than just the last two transfer windows. Since the summer that Bowyer was our only signing we have fucked up every oppertunity to bring players in. Fatty is quite clearly a massive part of the problem.
  10. No I can't really see that scenario happening. I'm fully aware that we are not the club that everyone would like (and lots believe) but we're hardly Torquay now are we. Surely if we put out some feelers well in advance we would have time to work out who is interested (in selling/coming here) and then move on to other options if necessary. And do you not think that by definition if you wait until the last day to try to make signings then you have lost the oppertunity for the player(s) to be at the club and settling to their new surroundings and actually playing games? we didn't wait till the last day, it is quite clear none of the deals lined up earlier on panned out. We can still try other options until the last day, that's why it's called deadline day... iirc Chelsea only sold someone on the last day because it was dependant on another late deal transferring players any time in January is not going to allow them time to settle in is it? No one is saying that we have waited through the whole of January til we got to the last day before starting to do anything. What we are saying is if we had done things properly and started things off well before January started we would have known we had to change targets a lot earlier and give ourselves the time to do this. You can talk to other clubs outside the transfer window to find out if they would be receptive to bids for their players. Manure had Larsson lined up ages ago! The point you make about the Cole/Gallas deal is fair enough but they could afford to wait because if it hadn't gone through they still would have had the quality in their teams to cover this. We do not and therefore shouldn't be relying on something like this. If you transfer a playing on the 1st of January you have a whole month extra to bed someone in than you would on the 31st no? It would also mean they could have played in four or five more games. But that is irrelevant. Because if we had properly planned in the summer we wouldn't have been desperate for players now would we?

  12. I'd love to think that was for a laugh, following Renton's comments about the random shit you post. I fear that would be giving you far too much credit though Again, I would not be surprised if people took it literally. The point being, when do we start contracting players ready for the first day of the summer window? Now? In 2 months? In May? Seriously, how far forward does it have to be to be good 'planning' and getting one over on every other manager who seem to be more than able to start and complete deals inside the window. I'll accept having the players in time for the start of pre season training instead of after the season starts for a change.
  13. Great film but I still prefer Aliens which is one the select sequels to improve on the original film.
  14. There's a difference between having a goal and actually believing it will happen. Anyway, automatic qualification for the UEFA cup and winning the league cup would be a much more realistic and achievable goal. If you aim for a champions league spot and just miss it you will most likely the wafa cup spot anyway though. I agree about the league cup though, it's ridiculous how little focus we've given it in the past!
  15. I think both he and N'Zogbia are suffering because of having no one behind them to link up with. No matter how well Rammage/Huntington/Edgar do in a game it's basically as an out on the left centreback. They offer nothing in an attacking sense (other than goals against Manure & Spurs ) so whoever plays on the left is left isolated. Seriously watch out for it, it's like playing with 9 men at times because we simply can't use the left.
  16. I think if you compare Martins price with some of the ridiculous fees for players in England, it does put things into perspective. And I am still not really convinced about Martins yet. I also can understand the transfer of Duff, because it was just an unlikely opportunity coming along. Rossi was a decent choice considering is reputation. Bernard was a joke and so was Le Sib, who might (occasionally) not look as bad as most feared, but simply is just a mediocre player for a bottom half team. I disagree with Duff because we simply didn't need him (given that we had N'Zogbia and Milner who could play there) and had far more pressing concerns. With regards to Rossi, he just didn't fit into our team with Martins (who given the price if nothing else was going to be first choice) and Roeder just didn't know how to use him. If we'd ended up signing Kuyt instead of Martins it might have made sense but as it is, it just looks totally like a panic move.
  17. Aye with this squad (even with Owen & Shola back) and the past evidence of our ability in transfer windows it's not looking at all posible that we could break back into the top four. There's no club below those four that's anything to worry about though.
  18. We should really be looking to challenge for a champions league place other wise where are we looking to go. It will be very difficult beating any of those four but it's no point setting yourself a target of staying in the division (which I think was the target fatty set this term). Plus Liverpool and Arse (while miles better than us) are still more than capable of losing a good number of poor points so it's not ridiculous to try and challenge them.
  19. I have no confidence at all in Roeder finding the right players tbh. The list of players we are told he wants suggest to me that he hasn't got the first fucking clue. Martins is looking like a canny (if overpriced) buy and Le Sib has done very well considering he's not good enough. But Duff, Bernard and Rossi were all poor signings
  20. Keen to see this. I've got it at the top of my list and was hoping it would get sent out to me today but they must have them all sent out
  21. Speaking of which, must give Kingpin a watch! Flossing? Where'd I get Munson from?
