  1. I remember Souness saying the same about BOumsong after his honey-moon period..... Let's hope Cacapa takes it on the chin, maybe he has just come to a cross-roads in his life and wants to be a hollywood star like that other solid CB at the other end who used to play in red and white.
  2. Gutted, still hoping he may put that towards a cheeky bid for England's little'un. Just to see the reaction if nothing else =)

    CPU Cooler

I got a Zalman for my laptop, reduced the CPU temperature by almost 10 degrees and keeps the fans from making a heinous din. It's pretty quiet also.
  4. ...Could be complete nonsense and a non-story but I like the look of this lad. Nearly 6'5 and looks like he can hit hte back of the net with a 2 in 3 record for Newell's last season before joining Benfica. Has a good strong left foot and good touch about him and is just 24. If we let Ameobi go (probably for his own good) then I'd have a look at this geezer in january, especially if Big Sam is adamant at playing basketball. With concerns over Viduka's fitness and Alan Smith not being used to hitting the back of the net we need someone else in especially with Oba off to Africa =/ Anyway this geezer could be a latin Big Dunc (but with more goals and anger management) and I'll be watching a couple of Benfica games this season: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x11wve_os...mpilation_sport
  5. Saw him fishing on SSN and he seemed O.K. Always thought him to be a good-hearted chap underneath the mental-illness etc, let's hope Rehab out in the states can sort him out once and for all.
  6. Liverpool-Arsenal, what a quality game, fantastic advert for the EPL. Turned it on the NFL game at Wembley at half time, the atmosphere there is ridiculous, the spiders in my loft make more noise...
  7. Maybe we really need to think long and hard about how we set up and play away from home. The 4-5-1 thing or a formation where the centre of the park has 3 midfielders and there are 2 wide forwards tracking back when we don't have the ball (Duff/Robben Chelsea 1st season), and with an explosive pace to counter-attack when we do have the ball. Viduka in there holding things up with his strength and flicking passes through to the quick men with his creativity. A trio of Geremi, Butt, Emre in the middle of the park would have bite and balance to it and would be able to absorb opposition pressure and then with Beye, Geremi, Martins down the right, and Enrique, Emre, and Zogbia down the left be able to quickly turn defense to attack. Away from home it is very important to have a strong bench to change a game if the Home crowd is growing anxious or we want to chase the game for example. With this formation Owen is a player that can be sacrificed and as he has shown a couple of times this season, he can come on and win a game when a defence is starting to tire like against Wigan and Everton. ------------------Given Beye-------Faye-------Cacapa-----Enrique -------------------Butt --------Geremi------------Emre ------------------Viduka --------------------------------N'Zogbia (Duff) -------Martins Bench: Owen, Milner/Duff, Barton/Smith, Rozenhal, Harper
  8. I think Roz's best position could be at DM, especially in this league where centre-backs have to be more physical than anyone else on the team. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSj5vsixFZ4 check out his goal around 1:30 and some of his forward pass and moving play before it. He is a calming influence on the ball and we've seen how he can read a game very well =) If Butt get's injured or has a couple of shockers I'd like to see Roz tested there.
  9. You see, you can't be taken seriously on the topic, because you've built the bloke up into something he is clearly not. How is he going to develop an "incredible allround game and to exceed Owen in each and every department" when at 23 (aye right), he can't even control the fucking ball better than 2 times out of 5. Owen at 18 was a better player than Martins is now (however old that might be). Please don't use phrases like "the mark of genius" when referring to players like Obafemi Martins. Christ almighty, how low have the standards for the word "genius" fallen? Him kick ball good. Him genius. The comparison to Drogba and Henry is ludicrous too. Remember, Drogba at 23 had an Ameobi-like scoring record and was not playing top flight football for Le Mans. Didn't become the Drogba that we all know over-night =/
  10. arrogance like cocaine can lift a big bald man high in the sky and then send him crashing painfully back down. Yes everyone, Jol was on COCAINE!
  11. I find it ridiculous how people have a go at Martins after scoring the type of goals he did last year for the type of team he played for: relegation form, no creativity, no leadership, no tactics SHITE that we were under Roeder. He starts this season by scoring 4 and setting up one and showing signs of improvement in his overall team-play and still people have a go. ENCOURAGE THE LAD FFS!
  12. He is however a much better player than Drogba was at 23 =)
  13. I'm just hoping he doesn't beat Kazenga Lua-Lua senseless after getting nut-megged in training before we get to see him perform on the pitch, not just in his speeches to the media =)
  14. isn't this the Newcastle Forum? don't be fueling my jealously with all this Martin Jol talk! please don't! I wish I was a spurs fan like my dad =/
  15. Owen is indeed a world class striker, that is not in dispute......but the fact is that it was Martins goals which saved u NUFC from certain relegation last season... and he started with a brace in the 1st game of the new season. Most coaches would have given him an extended run .... Owen on the other hand has spent more than a year on the sidelines and seemed more interested in playing for England than the club.. Martins on the other hand seems to put club first that is wrong is so many ways I daren't begin to retort. Take Martins goals out of the equation last season. Shit, even if the great one had stayed for another and we had Shearer and Sibierski, or Shearer and Dyer last season, we could have well gone down. The team was utter garbage last season under Roeder, we all know this. Martins scores goals out of nothing, so take his 11 league goals away and we may have been relegated and done a Leeds tbh =) The argument about Owen not looking interested.......the little'un never looks interested for whoever he plays for, but he keeps scoring goals so I don't care how he looks.
  16. Yeah, they'd probably go for Anelka before Martins if they were both available for £13m
  17. hahaha the truth is out. Stevie G is an overrated try-hard diver who gives the ball away most of the time.
  18. To be fair, Anelka's scoring record has got to be pretty similar to Martins in the last couple of years, and martins is a good 5-6 years younger (supposedly!) I'd rather keep Martins.
  19. If them extremists chucked a bomb onto the pitch Mr. Faye would fucken have that out of the ground with his head no probs.
  20. Faye & Cacapa were immense. Faye won everything thrown at him in the air today, now I can see why he has displaced Roz and Taylor. Solid, no-nonsense and no-one is beating him in the air. Thought Martins did very well today, took his goal well and worked tirelessly, always an attacking outlet. It's early days guys but I've such a great feeling about all this. SPurs were utter shite today to be fair though =/ P.S. was absolutely loving the close-ups of Sam on the touchline in the 2nd half. Comfortably leading the game and with a close-up and mic in range Sam looks like Satan incarnate shouting, ''IT'S OUR FUCKING BALL!!!''
  21. yet again Martins makes a goal out of nothing. You can stick your first touch Gemmil, I'd rather have Martins =)
