  1. Im not saying anything, i, like you and thousands of others will believe it when it happens! Just merely posting whats new in the media.
  2. As im posting from my mobile i cant copy link but the times are reporting thmora that barclays are going to give moat a decision within 5 days whether they will lend him the money to complete the take over. Fingers crossed. Im still wary though, if he needs to approach a bank for a loan, then that doesnt sound to promising that he will have the money to invest in new much needed players? Still...this is where we are at...i just want mike ashley OUT!
  3. Kinnear appointed on monday? Says who? Ffs!
  4. Personaly i dont think any of the young lads will be on more than a couple of grand except carroll maybe.
  5. Aye but isnt it a bit worry as to how he would fund the club in the transfer market if he is struggling to find th money for the buyout?
  6. And me...got to remember although WBA are no great shakes but neither are we! When you look at it west brom away in the ccc is the same as liverpool away in the premier league...tough away day and a good point!
  7. Time to go for broke and play the young lads in the championship? Is it just a matter of fitness or lack of passion with the senior players? Or are they just blatently fuckin shit? Personally i think its time to cut the shit and take a chance on the young lads. If a take over doesnt look likely before the new season would you be happy if...ashley stayed till january, appointed shearer on a 6 month contract, told big he can spend what he sells? I personally think thats a better situation than what we are faced now. Let the likes of colo, bassong, geremi, nolan, butt, ameobi, martins and xisco go, pick up about 20mil and bring in young talented lower league players with potential and passion...something fresh and go with a team like...harper, beye, taylor, kadar, enrique, gutierrez, inman, guthrie, duff, carroll, ranger. SUBS. krul, taylor, tozer, lua-lua, baheng, smith, vuckic....risky but id rather go with something fresh and with youngsters who have passion than washed out gutless mercenaries!
  8. Dont know whether to laugh or cry! Cant fault the young lads, gonna be under pressure, but the senior players picking up sizeable wages and are either showing no heart or passion for our club or who are totally inferior should be shot with shit! If the likes of duff, coloccini, nolan, geremi and alike cant outplay championship or league one teams then we are in more trouble than we 1st thought!
  9. When the 1st game of the season comes i think we'll end up playing...harper, r.taylor, s.taylor ©, kadar, enrique, lua-lua, guthrie, nolan, duff, carroll, ranger. Not a bad side but not great neither.
  10. Wtf! This is woeful! I thought that starting 11 looked decent...wake up call i think? Why oh why put geremi on though? Whats wrong with playin kadar who has looked impressive?
  11. Rubbish...people say results arent important but i disagree strongly! Im living in dublin now and the irish league is piss poor regardless of fitness...if we cant out play there and get a comfortable win then it doesnt bode well for a tough season in the championship! On a positive note duff, kadar and barton are playin well...
  12. Didnt he get himself sent off for a horrible tackle and then rant on about the squad and shearer being shit? Or was that someone else?
  13. I agree that he obviously likes the club and the area but it's more a case of Ashley selling him at the first sign of a decent offer and on a footballing level, would you really want to play in the Championship? I'd love to keep him, obviously but I can't see it happening. We have an outside chance of keeping Bassong since his disciplinary record might keep some teams at bay but I think he'll move on as well. It'll be a shame for both of them since they could have easily become real fan favourites had the club kept its head screwed on. Albeit a valid point stiva i cant help but think the likes of Beye and Bassong are the types of players we will need to bounce back if it happens. And if Big Al stays on which i fully expect him too id think he would give a list of players to MA that in no certain terms should be sold. A decent amount of money to spend (Championship amount) and the assurance that certain players will not be sold are just two things i think will be massive in the decision for Big Al to stay on.
  14. I dunno like...he seems to be a loyal character and i think he'd wanna help get us back up should we go down. Bassong would be chased by a few top clubs and it would be hard to keep him but i think we could hold on to him and should we not bounce back let him go. Cant see enrique staying tbh. I would play Guthrie ahead of Nolan every time but i think Big Al would opt for experience and battlers in CM.
  15. ---Harper--- ---Beye---Taylor---Bassong---Kadar--- ---R.Taylor---Nolan---Butt---Godsmark--- ---Ameobi---Carroll--- Bench: Krul, Edgar, Tozer, Guthrie, Lua-Lua, Baheng, Lovenkrands Outs: Coloccini...4mil Gutierrez...5mil Cacapa...FREE Geremi...FREE Enrique...3mil Duff...3mil Viduka...FREE Owen...FREE Martins...7mil Net income...22mil Wage reduction...Apx 500k p/w....26mil p/a Should Big Al stay id imagine he'd fight to keep the likes of Bassong and Beye, but we would still need a few championship players...LB, CB, CM, LW and ST at least. Will the money be there to spend or will the net income be pumped into running costs?
  16. Maybe im tryin to put a positive spin on a somewhat dark and murky chapter but maybe just maybe if we go down it would be a blessing in disguise? For all i know we would be stuck with Mike Ashley i think there could be a few positives to look at... - Removal of dead wood and overpaid under acheivers - Big Al to build the club up from a total blank canvas - Blooding of youth - More realistic chance of some silverwear I think it could be just what this club needs in the sense that the likes of Owen, Ameobi, Butt, Barton, Coloccini, Duff would undoubtedly leave and would reduce the wage bill drastically. On the flip side would we be able to hold onto the likes Bassong, Beye, Martins, Gutierrez? It would give us a chance to play our youngsters and start again and build upon new founations. The championship is said to be the hardest league in the country by some but i think we would bounce strait back and in a better situation than before, a new club ethos, no more egotystical under-acheiving and over paid prima-donnas. We would be made of stronger stuff, battlers, players with heart and genuine pride with returning to the PL. I would like us to stay up but trying to think positive.
  17. Your man or Alan Shearer i think
  18. Yeah part of me thinks you two are right but i just feel Taylor loves the club and i think he'd be up for the challenge, and Beye too, he seems loyal and has a good attitude, though i think there will be PL clubs sniffing round them both. Of the players i mentioned leaving...how much to do you think we'd get? Id say about 30-35mil...that would be a nice chunk repaid back to MA eh
  19. For all i tend to agree with the OP that we will stay up, i think i like everyone has gave it some thought as to what would happen should we slip through the net. I think 1st and foremost a whole host of players would leave and we would be left with the ones who are maybe loyal to the cause, want the personal challenge and the ones who wouldnt be wanted by any team in a better situation. Up to you to work out which are which but i think the following would leave... Enrique, Coloccini, Bassong, Duff, Barton, Gutierrez, Owen, Viduka, Martins. We'd be left with... Harper, Krul, Forster, Edgar, Taylor, Cacapa, Beye, Geremi, Butt, Nolan, Guthrie, Carroll, Strola and Xisco. All of which would cut it in the Championship but only just, only with the bolded players maybe PL standard. This could though be a good thing if we as fans can stomach ONE year in the chamionship....we remove the high earning under performers and when we bounce back up alot of the journeymen would be finished and leave. Also i think it would give us a genuine oppertunity to blood the youth, play them in the 1st team on a regular basis and with a year in the side we would see what they are all about and then they could possibly make the step up to the premiership. When i say youngsters im talkin about... Soderberg, Tozer, Kadar, Lua-Lua, Inman, Baheng and Vukcic who all could well turn out to be quality players and a year in the championship could be just what they need. Just a thought......
  20. Just because Pud is a member of NUSC doesn't necessarily mean NUSC are peddling this rumour. He's just passing on what he has heard to other Newcastle United fans who would be interested in such a thing. There was no mention of NUSC in the original post, in fact you're the first person to bring the supporters club into it. Football forums are about rumour, conjecture and calling each other cunts. If you take that away then what have we got? That's right, N-O. *shudders* I would say he is unfortunate that he is associated to NUSC. In my opinion, if you are involved in something like that and everyone knows then you should ensure you dont make them look stupid. Unfortunately i think its a stupid story, perhaps you may believe it perhaps you dont thats not for me to say. NUSC wants to gain recognition and move forward so i would suggest that to be taken seriously they shouldnt come accross people trying everything they can to make the club look stupid..........guess what? we already know it! As for your final line of what a football forum is about, i agree. I dont really tend to say much, just look on here to see if there is any news, to read a few opinions etc but perhaps in my extreme boredom i thought i would say how much of a bollocks story this. Im with ya on this one fella.
