Good lad! -
who do you think will cut it in the premiership?

Ranger? He mite but he is a long way off tbh. Pleased you put Carroll in there even if he is a "possible". I really think he has massive potential. -

"The nucleus is there, there might be one or two positions we might need to review which is (manager) Chris Hughton's job. If he is going to ask for a forward or a creative midfielder then we will have to go out there and look for them." Llambias http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...ike-Ashley.html? We'll be lucky if we sign one new player by the looks of it. Talk of wholesale changes to the squad is pie in the sky, although I agree it's badly needed. I cant quite believe im gonna say this but that interview with Llambias was pretty fair enough. If what he said was true of course. -

i think you have a little too much faith in our current lot to perform at the highest level. we're going to need more than 3 new first-teamers to survive if you ask me. Maybe but end of the day we are not going to get rid of most of them so alot of them will be in the 1st team. Only time will tell ay? -

I hear you shamrock but going off last season he was dreadful...albeit his 1st season in england and needed time to settle, was new to the club in turmoil but all we have to go off is how he played in the PL. Yes he has looked a class above in the CCC but the strikers in this league are wank! I hope he can take his beleif and form into the PL...only time will tell. -

---Harper--- ---NEW---Taylor---Coloccini*---Enrique--- ---Routledge---Guthrie*---NEW*---Gutierrez--- -------Carroll---NEW*------- * I wouldnt mind Williamson in there with either Saylor or Colo. ** Guthrie could be rotated with Barton or another ACM should we buy one. *** Smith in there unless we can get a BETTER DCM or box to box midfielder...Barton could do a job. **** Carrolls ariel ability and potential means id keep him in there and try and get another pacey striker to play alongside him, Lovenkrands could do a job. We need without a doubt a new 1st choice RB, another experienced CB, cover for LB, cover for LM, cover for RM, a new 1st choice battling CM who can pass, possibly another CM who is creative and 2 new strikers one of which should be a new 1st choice. Assuming Butt, Nolan, Raylor, Hall, Pancrate, and Best (5mil tops???) leave thats 6 out and 9 new recruits needed at least. NINE NEW RECRUITS AT LEAST...when i think of it like that, although i think the basis of the team is good enough for the PL, we need ALOT of improvement to create a PL squad nevermind just a PL starting 11. Lets say 4mil per player...9x4= 36mil - 5mil...NET: 31mil Seriously doubt MA will spend that and thats just an average of 4mil per player which wont buy much quality tbh. -

Harper Simpson Saylor Coloccini Williamson Enrique Gutierrez Routledge Guthrie Carroll The likes of Raylor, Barton, Smith and Lovenkrands all could do OK. Krul, Kadar and Ranger all could get the odd run out but got it all to prove and a long way to go. Butt, Shola, Nolan, Hall and Best can all jog on. If offers come in for Raylor, Smith and Barton id let them go too so long as we replace them with better quality players. -
I personally hope he can come back and recapture the form he showed at Citeh then he can stay but if he doesnt show willing and put in some decent performances i too would hope he goes a journey in the summer. That said...watch he will fuckin turn out to be class for whoever signs him.
-
I would love to see him and Guthrie given a go in the middle but wonder if we will ever see a decent run of form from him. He certainly has something extra if only he could show more of it. Good to see! Hope he can chip in with a few solid performances and a few goals from now till the end of the season, that and stay out of trouble. I hope I can have a threesome with Jessica Alba and Keira Knightley by the end of this week but I don't see that happening either. What about Kate Beckinsale and Katie Melua? Yes please!

Most fans are just enjoying the season Some on here, who think they have a bit of nouse, just constantly doom monger and put Newcastle down. They were moaning pre season about us doing a Leeds and now that they havent got that to moan about they are moaning about next fucking season! I am sure come Next season they will quickly find something else to moan about if we start off ok. I do think that alot on here are overly negative mind, even myself who i like to think, like you is a real-optimist but at times have found myself in a negative place this season in terms of the toon. For all the negatives that are out there with the club i do think we will be OK next seaon with this squad as a basis and a few additions with CH still in charge but by no means is that what i would like! In an ideal world id love for us to appoint a new manager after promotion, spend 30-40mil on a host of new 'quality' players and really push hard for a top harf finish...bounce straight back close to where we should be. It could happen under MA if he really is serious about doing things properly from now on i just seriously doubt he will. Like iv said before...i just hope that even in the current financial climate and the start of a PL meltdown that there is some wealthy business man out there interested in taking us out of MA hands and truely building something special here like we deserve. 300mil + common sense + good PR + ambition = A successful NUFC.....wait a minute.....not a fucking chance! -
LOL Seen this happen quite a few times while i was playing! This shouldn't be allowed, technically should be a corner I think *goes away to consult referee handbook*. Why? Its an OG...yes the elements play a huge part but no more so than a defender passing back to the goalkeeper on a wet soggy bumpy pitch and it bobbles over the keepers kick and into the net.

Gotta laugh really eh -
I honestly dont think they will qualify tbh! And although Rafa is on a pretty big contract he will be shown the door and then alot of players will follow....i expect Torres to be the 1st out.

Agreed. Would you let Smith and Nolan go? If they were replaced, aye. I.e. 2 out 3 in. Can't see anyone matching their wages though (especially Smith). Personally id only let Nolan go...Smith seems to have more legs than him and despite what others have said i do think he can do a job for us in the PL but obviously if someone is willing to take him off our hands and we have a quality replacement lined up then id not lose any sleep if he left.

Where do you all sit in St James and whats the atmosphere like?

Thats the one! Why dont we run out to that?!?! Propper prepare for battle music! -
Agreed. Would you let Smith and Nolan go? How much were we apparently going to pay for that Mbia? He looked a decent DM.

Like i said it probably is unrealistic but it would be nice if we showedthat level of ambition to go and get a young english prospect who cuts it in the PL and would replace Smith. I know its not going to happen but we can all dream -
After doing a Horticulture diploma this has always been an interest of mine that iv not fulfilled...yet! Good on you CT! Bit of advice too from what i learned... In the winter when you are prepping your soil turn over a good amount of blood and bone into the soil aswell as any other organic matter...leaves, potato peel and so on...it all adds to the soil being nutrient rich and in turn will result is more growth and more taste. Would be an idea too CT to build your own compost heap...keep turning it, adding to it, watering and covering with sheeting and in two years you will have the perfect compost for growing your veggies!! Soil prep is so important for a good crop.

For me Leazes its not about accepting lower standards....its about being realistic in what we can acheive this year and next.....should we stay up next year then i imagine the majority of fans will be expecting big things the following season? -
THE CCC is going to be a walk in the park................

This is the same for the majority of prem clubs. As we saw last year and again this year, once you get outside the top 9 or so it is rollercoaster stuff where all season is relegation avoidance. There is no money out there to buy clubs so Ashleys only solution is to build the club up both on the field and off it whether he likes it or not. The more succesful he can make it, the more chance of getting more for it when he does sell. This can only be good for Newcastle. Very true.
