I dont think we are 'lookin' to sell anyone, and for the first time in a while im quietly confident this window will be a good one for us. Ashley can see the pound signs at the end of the season rather than in this window...for all he is a clown i think even he will know that a few in and none out will benefit us and his bank balance come the summer....

REAL MADRID are weighing up a shock January move for Newcastle defender Fabricio Coloccini. The Bernabeu giants are urgently seeking a new central defender after Portuguese stopper Pepe was ruled out for the season with cruciate ligament damage. And Coloccini is on a shortlist of possible targets after recently rediscovering the form which made his reputation in Spain. Madrid are also looking at Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic and Velez Sarsfield youngster Nicolas Otamendi, who is expected to join Coloccini in the Argentina squad for this summer’s World Cup. But Ivanovic looks set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge and Otamendi lacks height and experience. Coloccini, who left Deportivo La Coruna for Newcastle for £10 million last summer, is playing with renewed confidence in the Championship this season after a torrid maiden year on Tyneside. And although a link with Madrid may sound absurd to some, Coloccini’s reputation in Spain – forged during four years at Deportivo and earlier spells at Alaves, Atletico Madrid and Villarreal – remains intact. Many United fans – and manager Chris Hughton – would now be against letting Coloccini leave, but a bid which would offer any significant return on their outlay on him would be difficult for the Magpies’ hierarchy to resist. And the player himself would be forgiven for being keen on a move to the Spanish capital and its promise of Champions League glory. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/sport/newcastle...79310-25474165/ Never thought id say i didnt want Colo to go if a good offer comes in but here i am actually wanting him to stay! He has been one of our better players so far this season and arguably one of the reasons we have a good defensive record this term (that and the poor division we are in). But on the other hand, for all he has looked decent in the championship, i like many others are still a little worried he wont cut it in the PL. Id like to see if he could make the step up though but if a bid came in of around 7mil it would be hard to turn down. Thoughts?

2-1 Harewood....not such a stupid sub after all
-
Fucking stupid substitution
-
Carroll good chance early on...sounds like a good atmosphere! Come on lads lets do these!!
-
Ehh? Me too please!
-
My bad! In that case is it not blatently obvious now that CH is just trying to accomodate nicky fuckin butt? Drop butt, nolan back in the middle and shola up front with carroll is what should of happened! EDIT: Just lookin at the subs bench...shows how thin our squad is really when 4 of your 7 subs are strikers and NO midfielders at all. Where is Guthrie, Geremi and Lua-Lua?

---Harper--- ---Raylor---Saylor---Coloccini---Enrique--- ---Pancrate---Butt ©---Smith---Gutierrez--- -------------Nolan------- -----Carroll------------- Whats up with Simpson? Why change the back four thats done so well unless he is carrying a knock? Why oh why keep ARSE in the side AND make him captain for fuck sake? I though CH had realised he had done a good thing by leaving ARSE out the side and making smith the captain? Fuckin baffles me. Glad pancrate is getting another start, pace down both flanks is going to be key today. 1-2 Carroll Nolan

Great result! Really starting to put some distance between us and the chasers now! What was our performance like? Player ratings? What was the goals like? Pleased the gansta got his goal!

I fancy a gritty 2-1 away win. Coventry are shite man but it wont be easy, no away game ever is. But i think the boys will have the bit between the teeth seeing as we can go 7 points clear of west brom with a win. Saying that though...Nicky Butt will be playing!

You from ashington too?
-
Can you please make your own thread for this? I'd like to comment but don't want to derail this thread or take any of the effect away from his dramatic statement. Hahaha

Of course its anyones choice when they have paid for the ticket....i just dont see the point. And it was just the fact he comes on here and randomly announces he walked out like he was proud!? I took a shit at half time!
-
Are you proud? Why? No matter how bad..i have NEVER walked out early....and NEVER will.
-
Sounded like a decent performance, not great, but decent. 4points in front of the baggies and TEN points in front of 3rd place!! Add to top it off a screamer from pancake!!

Campbell is ok but i agree with what fish says about the guys mentality, he could possibly upset the apple cart if things didnt go his way. I dont necessarily think if he and or kilgallon came in it would mean a departure is imminent but if one was likely to be open to the idea it would definatly be coloccini. He would welcome a move back to spain with open arms. Cleverley looks a very very good prospect, him and that lansbury kid who on loan from arsenal at watford too...id like to see us get this cleverley lad but again i tend to agree with the point fish made that its unlikely he would oust either smith or nolan or maybe even guthrie out of the side. That move though, could actually spell a departure though...Nolan to Everton and we prise Cleverley from Watford??? Hmmm
