Alex James hit the nail on the head when he said you celebrate your 20th with alcohol, your 30th with drugs and your 40th with food. Spot on that like. Also pretty sad affair that I can relate to most of the comments here. Apart from the LM one I think everyone over the age of say 27 unless you're a lass, can relate to my Horizon comment. Funny how lasses just are (mostly) not into that kinda stuff? Wor lass pretty much never watches any of that stuff I like. Though she is into the crime and investigation stuff that I'm not that fussed on.

Season Ticket sales I imagine are tricky to calculate now. Some people bought a 3 yr ticket so I dont know if they tale the revenue in the season it comes in or if they spread it into each of the 3 years? If its spread then fair enough, if not then that would have given an initial spike and then nothing for two years. This season they run out meaning everyone has to renew.?

What's that based on though? If we've accounted for TV money and player wages without showing that kind of profit, where do you see it coming from? 23 * 43000 = 989K bums on seats last year. 19*47000 = 893K bums on seats this year So there's less matchday revenue being generated this season. I've not seen any major announcements for sponsoership or new major kit deals. I read somewhere today that the kit deal was worth £2M (Puma). No idea how accurate that is. Not sure I see T/O reaching a higher level than it was the season we went down? My assumption was that corporate expendature was down (advertising within the club and sales of boxes etc).

I see that racist (and I dont use that term lightly) Paul Wynn resurfaced on twitter yesterday with a new account. Started off questioning why 25000 blacks should be in the stadium v Ghana and that it was wrong. Asked a lass to follow him and when she said no because he was racist he replied saying she was another slag On why he had disappeared for a while, I noticed he said he was back and thankful of the British Justice system and lack of evidence read into that what you will. Seems this morning the account has gone again.

No sentence boils my piss more than this. Without Ashley we'd never have dropped into the Championship in the first place so Dekka can shove this theory 3 miles up his own arsehole. It doesn't wash with me. It's probably true though, we made a bigger loss than this in 2007 of £34.2 Mill then came the credit debacle, I can't see how we could have survived without someone with deep pockets. If not "gone broke" we'd have been seriously skint and let's face it we'd been pretty crap for years, even the 7th placed finish was due to a bit of a late season run from a position of some danger. Being totally skint, reliant on credit (when there was none to be had) and shite, was not a recipe for a resurgence. Edit - this is NOT a pro Ashley post. I agree, and the essence of the statement is likely fairly accurate, though I dont think we would have "not been here anymore" as I think someone would have came in and bought the club anyway. It's more the banging on about what he has done again and again as if it is to turn the fans on his side again. I think it comes down to Shepherd being "labour" and spending his way out of trouble and Mike being Tory

It doesn't wash with me. Does my head in this. Every single time we hear something about the club its "Mike has done this and done that and we'd be doomed without him". FUCK OFF!

Sounds awful Think it can be brought on by stress? Just wondered if with the funeral etc. Course nothing you havent thought of already Im sure. Hopefully a one off anyway.

Be good to have the choice though.

Tbf he said he rated him but thought he had cover or a replacement and that he'd have liked him at the club now.

I agree with this whilst disagreeing with it a bit as well. Had we had a tad better luck with injuries, a half decent transfer window and the avoidance of a few notable last minute equalisers, then by now we would be comfortably in the top 6. I also add into this equation our performances against some of the top 5 clubs. I appreciate its still a big leap from 6th to 4th, but with a bit more enthusiasm from the owner it need not be as far away as it currently seems. Course it is man, we're miles of. Miles and miles. Getting into Europe was a pipe dream never mind owt else. Ok we we've had injuries but we will likely get them every season as do other teams. Same as the unlucky results, all teams get those as well. Its also been an odd season, much closer than usual giving teams the chance to be in unlikely positions. Our current squad couldnt expect much more than we have given the level of investment. Equally we would need steady investment over years to make steady progress up the table. wont happen over night, Id even say within 3 years. If we decide to retain and not sell on our best young valuable players and invest further in the squad, then maybe. But can you see that? If a £12M bid for Enrique came along is that not enough for the club to sell and then try and find another one again? While I think we'll stay up, it might be two steps forward one back for a number of years.

I like some of the comments about the ghost helping her tidy up etc

I come from a family of travellers and find that rather offensive. I think you're tarring us all with a pretty broad brush there Onepunch. As for the rubbish and scrap outside, its not really fair to blame them for that surely ? - where else are they meant to keep it !? This attitude makes me hoppings mad. The thing with travellers they get a bad reputation but 90% of people never come in to contact with them anyway, they have to live somewhere. The moor the merrier as far as I'm concerned. If they came waltzing my way id be looking to dodgem like right house of fun this like

So I might be cold as fuck sitting in the shade drinking a beer, huddling around the BBQ, but at least the flowers look nice!

Oh aye (or ear) forgot to add my occassional tinnitus. Annoying as fuck when I notice it. Went to the docs and his response? "Yeah, I get it as well, annoying isnt it?"

When I was in Brazil a canny few years back I wanted to see a game, so I went to watch Botafogo Jnrs play at the Maracana. My imagination of the stadium was pretty let down by the reality. Its a huge concerete stadium and I imagine when full could be fantastic. But what I found was at that game there was maybe 30K inside which made the place look empty. Also there was a running track (or track of some kind) pushing you further away from the pitch. The atmosphere was pretty poor tbh. But, I'd still liked to have seen it for a bigger game like and reckon the place could be rocking. I'm off to Milan this weekend to watch AC v Inter so I'll see if I can grab some pics.

Im sure the obvious questions were asking but were filtered out. I didnt listen to the intrerview as could pretty much write the script before it went live.

We were looking at venues (castles at the like around Northumberland) and "trying" to make the invite list. Like many, in the end we fucked off to Miami and got married there, just took 4 family members, had them, for 5 days then jumped to St Lucia for our honeymoon. Cant recall the cost, but I think was 6-7K all in. Then had a bash at the Copthorne on the Quayside when we got back for everyone else.

the stupid cunt is derailing my thread. Wouldn't mind if he was a funny guy.

Had a canny crack on with him last week when he was speaking at a dinner I was at, also got pissed with him and his lass in the bar later. Though born in Penshaw said his team was Newcastle as Sunderland never showed him an interest. Reckoned the best NUFC he played with was Irving Nattrass. Said he had plenty of skill but just lacked a bit of heart. AK was a good laugh and took the piss out of himself a fair bit, though was mostly about his time at Liverpool.
