I thought this was poor taste until I saw the video on Youtube and it's blatantly said in a sarcy piss take context rather than any real malice. Maybe if he'd said it on a late night weekend show then it would have gone no further. I'm no fan of his by the way.

It's bang on to be Mark Hughes, whic makes sense seeing as he's a cunt who I've always despised.

Does anyone remember that interview Barton did with Inside Sport on the beeb when we first signed him? I was dubious when we signed him based on past problems but was willing to give him a chance seeing as he was our player now. Unfortunately, he came across as a bit of prick in that interview. I'm sure it was Gaby Logan interviewing him and he played the victim card all the way through it. Refused to take the blame for anything he'd done in the past and seemed to blame the press for it, saying he was singled out. I remember being shocked by it as I watched with an open mind but with the slight hope I would warm to him. Alas not. I had the same experience reading Kevin Pietersons autobiography, they'd made great mates by the way as they both seem to go through their career blaming every other fucker but themselves.

I suppose the test will come if we ever do go through a poor patch at home (touch wood not and all that) which is when you find out who the real twats around you are.

I don't necessarily think it's point scoring, I do think it's been done for the right reasons. I think it just reflects the kind of person I am. As a collective fanbase I think we're brilliant at showing real spontaneous emotion collectively. I will get there early for the occasion and probably bubble a bit getting caught up in it to be honest.
