  1. Compunding this by sticking James Perch x 3 on the front page of NUFC.co.uk celebrating a fake anniversary wearing red. Honestly must be taking the piss. No offence intended to Perch, but a chill runs down my spine when I look at his face in this 'promo' ; the way he has the upturned left side of his top lip positioned.... How long now have we been running free advertisements for Sports Direct at the stadium?
  2. Even if there was a dent in shirt sales it would do nothing more than give them motivation to sell off the club even further. "Due to a decrease in merchandise revenue it is with deep regret than the club has had no choice but to sell Fabricio Coloccini. These measures were required to ensure that Newcastle United is run in a responsible manner allowing it to comply with the forthcoming financial fairplay stipulations. In other news, Alan Smith has signed a new contract that will keep him at Sports Direct Arena until 2015. The ceremony to officially name his seat on the Sports Direct bench will take place at Sports Direct Arena next Thursday, with Newcastle United members admitted freely if wearing next seasons Sports Direct strip."
  3. They already won't have wanted to get involved anyway as anyone with a shred of intelligence would know that there would be a largely negative reaction to renaming St James' Park. I suppose it only makes sense as something to absorb the negative reaction prior to a shift to a proper sponsor, however the chances of that happening are remote at best. Precisely how they can get away with changing it to this without seeing a single pound of payment for it is ridiculous. They should either charge Sports Direct the going rate for such a change or have called it the Your Name Here Stadium with a big phone number and a link to the ebay auction.
  4. Yeah that's a worry.. with that in mind for peace of mind would it be best to buy from one of the 'services' that charge a premium for the tickets like the following: http://www.livefootballtickets.com/english-premiership-newcastle-united-v-sunderland-tickets/newcastle-upon-tyne-9314.html
  5. Where would the best place be to get tickets for the mackems match at St James' next March? Purchased from Australia.. and before anyone gets too excited, no it's unfortunately not me it's a fellow toon enthusiast friend. I'd imagine tickets for this fixture will be hard to come by, so he wants to get in as early as possible to ensure he doesn't miss out. On top of that for someone visiting for the first time where would the best place be to experience the atmosphere in the stadium? Thanks in advance.
  6. Can make a pass and hit a shot. Has improved his mobility of late, as to whether that's to do with being off-contract soon remains to be seen. Like others I don't have an issue with this move. Good time to get it done while he's performing in the first team. With all players fit he's obviously on the bench.
  7. Is that norwegian? Perfectly acceptable English actually.
  8. It's a tough question. At this point in time I wouldn't want to upset the balance and comradery of the team with someone like him. That would soon change if we started playing poorly or suffered an injury to Ba. Otherwise I would rather money be spent on bringing in someone new, not someone who would come back with a saunter like he owned the place.
  9. Honestly we've not had too bad a run with injuries thus far. By comparison to our previous injury lists over the past decade it's pretty good. Shola is a perma-crock who seems to never last more than a few games at a time. Best is prone to the odd injury, hopefully that explains why he looked like he was running in mud on the weekend. Marveaux has a history of muscle injuries, so there's no reason to expect that to change. Cabaye and Tiote will pick up the odd injuries because of their combative natures. Obertan, I'd say is the type who could miss a month because of a bee sting. Welcome him to prove me wrong. Williamson's stand-off nature in defense will see him end up in the wrong position frequently, thus exposing him to potential injuries. Seems to be a slow healer. Add to that bunch Steven Taylor who is injury prone, partly because of the way he flings himself about trying to block shots. Thankfully our Argentine pair have a fantastic injury record. Simpson too avoids injury by only tackling as a last resort .
  10. But played a very good game. He definitely seems quicker now that he's lost some weight, plus it was pretty impressive that he covered the most ground out of all players. He was still running towards the end, and has obviously spent a lot of time working on his fitness. Begs the question why he hadn't done this previously...
  11. Noone could blame him for wanting to sort his future out and go somewhere where he will play it out rather than stuck on the bench. He's a decent option on the bench who is a pretty good finisher but otherwise lacks the physicality. If he does go I'd wish him all the best and thank him for his time here. Nothing to be angry or smart arsed about tbh.
  12. Newcastle 1 Everton 0 Arsenal 3 West Brom 0 Aston Villa 2 Norwich 0 Blackburn 0 Chelsea 2 Liverpool 2 Swansea 1 Man Utd 3 Sunderland 1 QPR 0 Man City 2 Wolves 1 Wigan 1 Bolton 1 Stoke 2 Fulham 0 Tottenham 2
  13. Injured yet again after playing less than 200 minutes this season i nall competitions. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
  14. It's ridiculous. The high stakes Europa league are smart enough to ensure that sort of tomfoolery doesn't take place but apparently the FA aren't. The pitch should be the maximum size safely possible within the constraints of the stadium. Regardless of the results it ruins the viewing spectacle of matches.
  15. That challenge wasn't worthy of a yellow. A bit harsh on him, though retrospectively it's kinda funny that he'd been on the pitch a matter of seconds and picked up a yellow card. I was dreading him coming on and when that happened at the time a horrible feeling of inevitability swept over me.
  16. He did well in what must be the absolute worst place to play for a keeper. Effectively a clean sheet for him and the defense as you can't be expected to save penalties.
  17. Looks lovely. Our 2nd and 3rd strips are better than our home one.
  18. Can you imagine being a Stoke supporter... The misery of watching them play.
  19. Best offside for the goal unsurprisingly... Got away with it though! Ba looks up for it... And they look slowwwww
  20. Credit where it is due, that was a quality cross. Lovely finish as well. Getting in behind them looks like it will hurt them.
  21. Above all teams outside Manchester.
