  1. while I can't see NO offers, I can see low-ball affers considering he is apparently made of glass
  2. Mennonites do that when they are 18....you either choose to believe or not, if it's the latter then you get ostricised by the church....and I'm not sure which branch (there are the dancing and non-dancing mennonites) that is for though
  3. truck drivers buy it all
  4. I don't think that bears close analysis tbh. WWI/II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War etc? Didn't persecution of the jews play a part in WW2 then? It wasn't a cause of the conflict. agreed it was the persecution of everyone....those naziis were equal opportunity persecutors That wasn't a cause of the war either. Unless you class invasion of other countires as persecution. Which I suppose it is. No one entered the war to help people being persecuted in Germany though, as far as I know. Semantics really, while you are pointing out the actual events which caused the second world war, I read DKN's post as pointing out the persecution of the jews based on their religion by the nazis.......who (by whatever actual means) started the war......to which I was trying to point out that they persecuted everyone that didn't accept the party line......hmmmm reminds me of W's state of the union address post 9/11 It didn't though. Which is my point. oh rly? if the nazis didn't start the war....who did?

  7. Prefer Hitchens - nastier with more alcohol around. Pretty much the same. As far as religion's coexisting, of course they can, to an extent, they have been for millennia, but they will always be a source of friction and ultimately bloodshed. Of course, it's impossible for them all to be true - I'm amazed that this fact alone (i.e. disregarding any lack of empirical evidence for any religion etc) itself isn't enough to convince anyone with half a brain that the whole lot is manmade bullshit. But then religion, and many of its followers, is clearly supremely arrogant. I think Nevillex3 was alluding to this in the other thread using football support as a metaphor. I had hoped that rationality would win the day, in the West at least, and we could evolve to become a truely secular society where religion took a back seat for those (hopefully few) that wished to remain superstitious. Unfortunately recently we have seen a reversal of the enlightenment, especially in the US, ironically partly caused by islamic fundamentalists. I find the whole backward movement quite depressing. agreed, they served to add fuel to the Evangelical Right (the ones that pushed the second term of Bush into reality), they scare the hell out of me more than any bomb toting muslim
  8. first off I'd like to say I'm not a yank....but I find it hilarious that you are even suggesting that the yanks have started more wars than Britain......granted you've been around longer but c'mon ooops.....i forgot to say i am a not religious but have done a lot of reading on Taoism and I used to consult the I-ching

  11. hasn't Sven already said 'not a chance' to leaving Mexico?? as long as we have the current management in place there is a greater chance of me being named the manager than anyone worth while least of all Sven

  14. A bloke walks into a Glasgow library and says to the prim librarian, 'Excuse me Miss, dey ye hiv ony books on suicide?' To which she stops doing her tasks, looks at him over the top of her glasses and says, 'Fook off, ye'll no bring it back!'
  15. dude!?! really, did you really just say that? to say inequivocally that an entire country of people are "evil" is the kind of gross oversimplification that allows radical imams and people like the woman in the article to coerce young impressionable iraqiis to blow themselves up.
  16. RockandRolla...............Guy Ritchie needs to get a new script, or have another idea. I thought it was shite, needed to be editted alot better, fairly self indulgent imo

  20. ......not to seem to much of a mong.....but what do i change to get rid of "having trials" in my profile?
  21. rubbish oh rly!? why is it that no team off his list of places he'd like to go even put in an offer for him?......he always seemed like he was capable of more here but it never materialised, too busy wingeing about how he wanted to leave imho Doesn't make him rubbish tbf. Agree about the bit after that though fair enough but that type of player is cancerous to the "team" mentality.....especially if you are in a relegation fight.....thats why I rate him shite...again just my 2 cents Having someone like Kinnear in charge is infinitely more damaging to morale like, although I appreciate CNZ probably wasn't helping towards the end. In any case, who'd blame him for wanting out and even preferring a move to Wigan at present? I think he's been engineering for a move for a while though and I found it funny he ended up at Wigan after the patter about where he might be going. No doubt him and Bramble will have a little chuckle when they're playing a division above us i really hope you're wrong about this .....no REALLY
  22. rubbish oh rly!? why is it that no team off his list of places he'd like to go even put in an offer for him?......he always seemed like he was capable of more here but it never materialised, too busy wingeing about how he wanted to leave imho I would prefer to ask why a player with such obvious talent wanted to leave one of the biggest clubs in the country. Maybe his inconsistency and attitude is borne out of being played out of position by various managers, never getting a regular run etc ? I think that's fair comment too btw. He's been pissed about since Roeder was here and brought in Duff, who, to make things even more frustrating, has been rubbish and will probably be moved on come the summer anyway if the board get their wish. both fair comments and i agree.......he has never been or ever will be a LB/RB........so i can see why he'd be choked, still the Team has to come first and if your ego gets in the way of that type of commitment..........here's your coat, whats your hurry imo
