  1. Well that’s hospital only numbers. God only knows how many nursing home deaths you can add to that
  2. No. Some of the daily stats are over a week late atm. So as much as they aren’t accurate numbers day to day, they probably do average out as a means of following case trends
  3. Which NUFC player has represented his country at full international level and also played in Conference South Conference National FA Trophy League Two League One Championship Premier League Europa League
  4. UK numbers seem to be hovering around the 8-900 mark. Hopefully plateauing here too
  5. https://nursingnotes.co.uk/covid-19-memorial/ Tracker of all NHS staff deaths
  6. I’ve been sat in online meetings all week using Microsoft Teams, thinking “why the fuck have I been travelling all over the North East for meetings for the past 5 years”.
  7. We’ve been lucky it’s COVID, which isn’t airborne, has a fairly low fatality rate and can be protected against using masks and gloves. If the Congo’s Ebola outbreak had travelled we would have been fucked. 90% fatality rate and our PPE shortages would have been catastrophic. The vast majority of nurses and doctors would have abandoned ship I reckon This needs to be a serious wakeup call for the funding of the NHS, infection controls and the welfare system amongst other things
  8. Last I heard there was going to be one in Washington or Gateshead. If it's been knocked on the head it's likely because they think the hospitals in the NE can cope with the demand. Latest evidence suggests older Asian's might be at a higher risk from COVID (see the list of Dr's who've died so far) so they may be expecting some of the Yorkshire cities to be harder hit?
  9. He could have. There’s a middle ground to this argument though. It stinks that clubs are furloughing staff and the multimillionaire players at the clubs haven’t lost a penny despite not actually working for a living currently. A month down the line, after a load of media pressure, they offer a days wages and then shit on about it all over social media like they’ve just cured cancer
  10. Tbf to Hancock, his initial comment was answering a question the press put to him.
  11. I’m not massively up on US politics, but Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders all seemed much better options than Joe Biden
  12. Southampton leading the way. All first team players, coaches and directors have taken a pay cut so that the rest of the clubs employees can receive a full time wage for the foreseeable future.
  13. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/11358506/premier-league-captains-donation-nhs-coronavirus/
  14. I donate money to charity out of my wage every month
  15. I see the Premier League players have agreed to club together and donate £4mil to charity rather than take a 30% wage cut. Being cynical... 20 x premier league clubs 25 x players per first team squad = 500 players in the premier league £4mil / 500 players = £8000 each A days wage for most of them.
  16. Looks like the COVID death total completely ignored anyone who died from it in the community. Actual deaths are 4000 higher than reported
  17. This stats look like bollocks. 15k max I reckon (Unless the current stats are fudged and we are currently at 10-15k deaths in the UK if you include those who’ve died at home)
  18. My point is, the wages of the first team squad are far in excess of £15-20k pw. So asking the government/taxpayers to fund a fraction of the players wages is taking the piss. The club receives millions in parachute payments this season iirc. This decision helps no-one but The Don and his bank balance
  19. Which works out at £15k per week for a squad of 25. That’s taking the absolute piss expecting the taxpayer to pick that up. Methven spends more than that on trousers ffs
  20. Sky News is reporting 758 in England and 290ish in Scotland
  21. UK deaths over 1000 in the last 24hours. Looks like the downward curve was more due to delayed reporting unfortunately They are also announcing stats by country rather than the UK as a whole now. I suspect because it sounds less scary saying 758 died in England than 1100+ in the UK
  22. I mean, a Coronavirus thread just for you would significantly reduce the misery in this one
  23. Well my Uncles Nephew is a certified nursing legend and says Boris isn’t even ventilated so predictions of his imminent demise are premature at best
