Might change my username to 'Jim Smith's sweaty top lip'. I was just thinking he sounded a bit pissed in the interview and then Greavsie gets the comedy bottle of brown ale out. Used to love Saint & Greavsie.

Completely agree. When the government needs to actually do something (e.g. sort out energy prices and put together a regulatory package that works), they cant leave it up to the energy minister because they havent got a clue what to do. They appoint someone with experience in the business and who has top management experience working in complex organisations. Make running the country attractive financially and better people will want to do the job.

Have a look at this clip? You either meant have a look at the clip of him or you posted the wrong link.

In the comments section on the guardian match report (i know) some manc gimp was claiming their right to 'United'. His argument was the most stunning display of public stupidity i've seen in a while. - Newcastle is a one club city - There are 2 clubs in Manchester - Where there are 2 clubs in other cities like Sheffield, one of the clubs is known as United in that city. Then, he finished his post, leaving it hanging there as a tribute to the one-eyed morons of this world.

I'd like to think he will put Ben Arfa in. His ability to beat a man could disrupt their shape when they are pressing. Pardew's post match comments about having more confidence in bringing players in suggests he might.

Who will take Cabaye's spot against Soton?

From a head injury. He was 39.

I do 5k each time i go out. 25- 30 mins basically - i've done them in just over 20 mins but that was pushing it. 5k is a 35 to 40 minute very leisurely jog because your average speed is less than 10kmph, which is just above a fast walk.

The reaction on NO is because its full of know-all self-righteous cock ends whose egos have been massively dinted by the November run of form. If we'd won 2 and lost 2, the reaction would have been far more muted. Its just the pent up frustration of knowing you are right but events dont back you up. For over a month. When you claimed you were so right. And that anyone who thought differently was a wum. And incorrect. That level of self-certainty takes the hit it has done, its all going to come flooding out the minute the narrative is back on track. PL is spot on about the mis-placed criticism. Southampton lost at home against a worse team than Swansea, Man U lose at home, Spurs struggle past an inept Fulham. Us losing last night does not undo the good work we have done in the last month. Everton are the only team ahead of us who do not have a resource 'advantage' over us. At present, this season, from a footballing perspective, things are going very well. Maybe its my age and the inability to accept stupidity anymore, i dont know.

I have a pig's leg with a menacingly black trotter on my balcony. We had salad, ham and eggs for lunch. Superb.

When did you pick up an Italian accent?

Laudrup and Webb are both tossers. I thought Krul was poor tonight and we were just off the pace, a bit unlucky but didn't deserve much out of the game. If we'd got the equaliser at 1-0 it would have been a draw at best.

My perspective CT: You're 46 years old, you want to be doing gentle jogging, vigorous walking, riding bikes. You dont want to be 'big', you want to be slim. Take it from me, the best thing you can do to supplement the great (sic) work you've done with your diet in the last 12 months is good, regular and non-intensive exercise. You dont want to be toned, you dont want a 6-pack, you just want to reduce your risk of type-2 diabetes and improve your cardiac function, ensure a strong left ventricle to ensure oxygenated blood gets around your body and keeps you healthy. If people start their posts in this thread 'the best way to see results' they are speaking from the perspective of someone 15 years younger than you who has probably exercised properly all their adult life. High intensity can be dangerous as you get older even if you kept fit all your life (just look at Andrew Marr). If you want to do weights etc then make it part of good cardio exercise because thats the only reason you need to stay fit, to look after your health. The stuff about intense cardio is about the best way to see 'results', its pure aesthetics and incorrect from a health perspective.

Honestly, i dont think i've ever tasted anything nicer in my life. And i go to the sort of restaurants that specialise in things like lightly fried puppy dogs noses. All to do with the acorns the pigs eat apparently. Going to turn my phone off, close the curtains, open some wine and eat it till i pass out.

CT that picture looks like leftover school dinners. Hope it did taste better than it looks. Right then, got an email from the SVP's admin the other day saying he was offering his close team a special christmas present. He is based in Madrid and he offered the choice of 6 bottles of 'special red wine' or a 5J Bellota ham. You may have expected me to choose the wine but i am mad about Spanish ham. 5J is the very best of the best (Cinco Jotas). I was in Madrid yesterday and saw the admin and she said its the full 7kg of ham So am expecting this in the post any day soon (without the holder, i will have to buy one of them). My butcher is going to lend us the knife you need to cut the fucker. Going to be a few easy christmas gifts as there is no way we can eat all that.

What about your legs?

Maybe Gerrard had an off day but he still seemed pretty mobile to me when i've seen him play recentyl. Bruce is doing a fine job at Hull so far this season.

Sweating like CT on weigh-in night. I don't get it though, you checked in online but had to get the flight re-opened to check in? As a platinum frequent traveler I don't have these issues

Much rather Soton and Swansea got beat. Only an idiot thinks we are competing with City for points.

I disagree with Happy Face's assertion that because Sunderland's commercial income has risen, there was no regional economic impact explaining the fall. This may be wrong for a number of reasons. At the height of the commercial income performance for us around 2005 to 2007, Sunderland's was non existant. During that time out corporate boxes were occupied by companies like Northern Rock and Sanofi Synthelabo (now Sanofi). I pick these two out because both have gone through huge changes since 2007, NR we all know about. Companies like Sanofi have drastically reduced their workforce in the north east since that period. Both examples show companies with massive global reach and resources who were once spending millions on corporate entertainment at SJP who now spend nothing on these things in the north east if at all. Sunderland never had that and their income which has grown has done so modestly from a smaller base that was not exposed to the downturn in the global economy. Ours was. I have put all the analysis on here before, we are £10m short in income after adjusting for the catering. The make up of that shortfall was the corporate expenditure and budgets which are the first to go in cost cutting exercises which were carried out en masse in 07, 08 and 09. There were none or much fewer global companies with massive corporate budgets at Sunderland (I doubt there any but I can't be arsed to check). The fact that the club's commercial income suffered due to the financial crisis and recession should be obvious if you understand how that income was structured. None of the smaller clubs had the sort of corporate business we did back in the early 00s, they never had it to lose. Overall the performance is bad but it accounts for a number of factors, one of which being the fact that an arsehole took over the club and people don't like giving money to arseholes.

Exactly. People are horrendous cunts is probably and unfortunately the answer.
