  1. Aye, I think a win in the next 2 or 3 games and we're nearly home and hosed. What worries me about us and if we get into a bad run though is - where are the goals going to come from? Away from home? Nae idea, we've only scored 10 away all season. At home we should be alright and when Shola comes back from the US with his special mask we'll have a few more options. Shola's mask is going to be awesome btw.
  2. Another draw would be no disaster but a win would take us past the 34 points mark.
  3. Under Lawrie McMenemy Took them to the cup final in 79 too. Not sure where they finished 81/82.
  4. Aye, same here. I fervently supported Hamburg in the 1980 final because of Keegan. I'd been to SJP in 78/79 but hadnt quite developed into a proper toon fan, was more a Keegan fan at the time. It was when he signed for us that i became focussed on Newcastle, rather than just mad about football in general. By this time i was only 9 so my loyalties were fairly under-developed.
  5. He's not bartering over some rug with some Tunisian at a Bazaar. 6.25% actually. It actually makes it worse quibbling over so little. Its the price of a pint, does he want to go the match or what?
  6. Thou shalt not ask for 5% off. Everyone knows that.
  7. I think Liverpool did have a plan b as that kid from Lille was mentioned, Aguero and a couple of others. Its interesting what you say about Joorabchian though as the way i look at the window just gone, there were a lot of people who needed these deals to go through from a footballing perspective and a lot of agents who were going to profit every time Abramovich's money got spent. The deals were as you say probably all thought through from before Torres hands in the request but the one thing that can stop all that happening is what the player wants. This is where the agents come in. For me, i couldnt be any unhappier with the cunts who run our club but there are more despicable people than even them involved in the game. The agents are the ones persuading players to move for their own ends, not the players. Everyone knows it and a few people say it too but mostly it goes unmentioned as its the filthiest part of the modern game and everyone is complicit in the money side of things. Just put it in perspective, Carroll's agent is now set for life money wise. Obviously he will carry on in the game but that deal will have secured his family's future and his retirement in one. Its clear to me who was agitating for the move and why Carroll believed the club were 'forcing him out'. Carroll hasnt got the brains or the experience in life to think that for himself. As for not spending the £35m, i doubt we'll see all of it but dont worry, there is money to be made from NUFC and that will only happen if some of that money gets spent again. If we survive that is of course.

    Barcelona

That away strip they were wearing last night, what colour is it. Mint tea green? Is that part of the Barcelona pantone? First time i seen it, reminded me of the puke smiley on here.
  9. Paddocklad, I reckon if we were actively trying to sell Carroll, there is no way we could have got £35m for him. Liverpool and Spurs were chasing him and if they hadn't been able to match his valuation (in the case of Spurs) then they wouldn't have sold him. I guess there is an intention to sell any of our players if their asking price is met. On that note, if they intended to sell him in the summer anyway and they knew he would not be playing many games in the second half of the season then they knew he wasnt going to be much use to us. By the summer Liverpool would have spent the Torres money this last window, so the opportunity would have gone. That Best hat-trick as you say was a double-edges sword but I think the circumstances of the transfer market with abramovich's injection of finance drove the decision. Whether an assessment of Carroll's fitness from the Swedish specialist also played a part, we'll have to wait and see.
  10. Come on then ladies man, how many women you shagged and how many long term relationships? 3 long term relationships including the wife
  11. I don't really know what those two are arguing about but that's basically it.
  12. 5 prem games since West Ham, 3 away and 2 at home to Spurs and Arsenal. Beaten only once (away) and that was after Carroll left. Or beaten once in last 7. Positive enough?
  13. They were there for the taking though today, we completely bossed their midfield. Should have won.
  14. Sweet fucking Allah a striker drifting into a wide position, have you never watched football? He's a fucking retard this lad man, Lovenkrands is a liability in midfield and at best makes some (some, not many) decent runs. He's shit and even worse in midfield basically.
  15. Come on then ladies man, how many women you shagged and how many long term relationships?
  16. Toonman started the Fulham thread, so he can fuck off with starting a second one with one already going. Kuqi could feature against the only one of his former clubs (12?) he has yet to face.
  17. Handles the players well imo. Handles their wives better though.
  18. Marriage? We got a civil partnership for tax purposes last year and i saved £9k in tax. Thats a good deal imo.
  19. I hardly dare comment on these things now but Tiote did say he didnt want to move to a big city and wanted somewhere quiet to live, he felt Newcastle was perfect for him as a person which is why he chose to live here. I also think people put far too much weight on the words that Carroll's agent put into his mouth.
