  1. Never been to Sydney so i couldnt possibly judge, i was merely asking a question. Would contend the food comment. Best cold water seafood in the world comes from around the shores of the North East and Scotland, certainly no cold water fish off the coast of Sydney worth mentioning. The top Michelin starred restaurants of France and Spain select their cold water seafood from the North Sea. A lot is exported but not all, a lot remains in the area. Rain is good for grass, grass is good for cows, British beef farming has traditionally reared cows for quality not bulk. The best butcher in Paris in the 16th arrondisement sells only British beef, his beef comes a farmer called Tim Wilson in Yorkshire, 40 minutes south of Newcastle. Its the only type of beef on the menu at Le Beef Club, the butchers impossibly hip restaurant . You can have all this without vacuum packing it. Just wanted to lay the food myth to rest because i've watched Australian masterchef. The we come to the wine, am not a fan of your Shiraz at all, maybe because wine really does not like to travel but if you must give me a Shiraz, i want it expertly blended with Grenache, Mourvedre and a Cinsault. None of which grow that well down under. I do like your Sauvignon blancs, plucky little fuckers but they do lack sophistication. Much like you lot really.
  2. Bigger bridge and Opera house admittedly Kin, what about your Norman keep and 17th century quayside architecture?
  3. Their debut put the works of poet Shelley to music to beautiful effect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgks2JhP8UA
  4. The second album from Hundred Waters is out. Their debut was amazing. This one sounds alright too, if you're into folk electronica shit anyway.
  5. Not growing our shirt sponsorship doesnt explain the reduction from its peak at 33m to around 15m now. It was roughly 25-30m on average around that peak. You might be right about the corporate boxes but revenue from them was amongst the best in the league in the early 00's. We had a peak of 33m in commercial income less than a decade ago, i'd like to know where thats gone. Sponsorship, branding and all that are part of the story of woeful commercial performance but none of them explain the missing income.
  6. Sponsorship of what has reduced though? The stadium didnt have a sponsor in 2007. We now give away stadium branding but thats small fry compared to the 15m loss in commercial income. The stadium was never sponsored and the shirt sponsor now pays more, doesn't it?
  7. A lot of commercial income comes from the stadium (or did), we know about the catering (far too much made of it) but there is also the corporate boxes which made a massive contribution. The recession did do for that segment of the income stream. You cant analyse 'commercial' as a single catergory. Also if a club makes 3m commercial in 2006 and 6m commercial in 2014, its a very different set of economic circumstances that takes this club's commercial revenue from 33m+ to 12m or whatever it is. Loads of that is also fan disaffection as its the fans that spend money on the club. I've no doubt there is also something snide going on with the sales of shirts etc. Many factors count but the reason why e.g. Sanofi no longer have a corporate box like they did in 2005 (for many years) was the spending cut backs implemented in 2008/9.
  8. We've moved on past the first 12 months to young toddler and beyond shit. First 6 months: is he hungry? does he need burping? does he need changing? does he need to go to bed? does he need a cuddle? You can count his needs on one hand basically and in that order generally too.
  9. Learnt it the same way you learnt it, by experience. Once you've seen them do it and you read a psychologist telling you that's what they will do, it sinks in. In a lot of ways, we have loads of advantages over out parent's generation when it comes to dealing with kids. In a lot ways we are a lot worse too. I do now deal with everything more calmly and yes it tests your patience. For those most trying moments though (tantrums), there is no point in doing anything, shouting talking or explaining. I could go into early neurology models and current research on brain development at this point but I'll stop.
  10. Primarily you want to avoid rewarding the behaviour you dont want. its more about reward than anything else. You've got to be careful how you punish a child as they will replicate that behaviour to you and others. If you shout at the kid to change their behaviour they will immediately and quite rightly learn that shouting at people is the way to changes the behaviour of others to do what they want.
  11. The only way sanitary towels should come up on this forum is in relation to the long term side effects of giving anal. I disagree with Fist's brother by the way, do take advice. Best piece is dont be an over-protective, over-attentive fuckwit. If the little twat is crying, good, its a baby, thats what they do. Obviously dont leave it crying but infant psychology is dead straight forward. 'If i cry someone comes, therefore i will cry to get attention' is basically how it works for everything (it needs a little more elaboration than that but am sure most get the point). The objective, which i see parents not giving attention to, is to develop a child that can become independent of you, sleep by itself, soothe itself and be happy to do so. The more attentive you are, perversely, the more attention they will need. Am not saying ignore them but jumping to their every whim creates toddlers who want you to jump to their every whim, etc. Its about balance.
  12. You can take you breastfeeding debate to mumsnet mate.
  13. Private clinic in central Paris for en elective c-section on the second one. Satellite TV and staff to feed the baby during the night, bottle fed from day 2. Our lass is typical of french women too. My advice: Dont sterilise bottles, this is simply just idiotic. Unless you sterilise everything that goes in the baby's mouth, this behaviour is incoherent. If you do sterilise everything then get a grip. Also in my experience, the quicker the child goes on to bottles, the quicker the child will sleep through the night. Our boy is not yet 4 months and has slept the last 2 nights from 10pm to 8pm through. Despite what Dr G says, actually spending those first few months sharing the responsibility is great bonding for all the family as long as you dont become so knackered you lose patience with each other. Also, having 2 is exponentially harder, Fist was gloating about this a few months back and the twat was right
  14. He's been rubbing penis enlargement on his forehead.
  15. Apparently the whole catering staff aren't happy with their rolls.
  16. If you got to that part of the world, San Sebastian is the place to visit if you have the time.
