  1. The whole episode was summed up perfectly for me when watching Sky Sports News on saturday night and they were using Stelling's reaction as part of the story of the incident. A news channel reporting on their own reaction to events as part of the news

Does it come out in one long log or is there a bit of backdraft?
  3. Something good may come of all this then.
  4. I've long described myself as a Shi'ite Geordie separatist.
  5. In what way? Gazprom is one of the most important parts of the Russian economy, 50% of Gazprom's business is in Europe. Since the 'gas wars' of 2006, the gas stocks of EU companies are at a record high, shale gas is now being exported from the US, Norway's gas exports to the EU are growing exponentially, the liquefied gas exports from the middle east (Qatar) are also rising. All this undermines Russia's economic hand. Russia (more specifically Gazprom) need the west increasingly more than the West needs Gazprom. Whilst Putin is playing zero-sum diplomacy and land grabs, the EU bloc has been building an energy policy that anticipated these moves for nearly a decade. Its a problem for Putin's dick if Ukraine becomes integrated into the EU, its not a problem for Gazprom's shareholders.
  6. When Cabaye signed for us he said (in response to the question 'why Newcastle?') "je veux franchir un palier" which translates to 'i want to move up to the next level'. Cabaye talked of improving his game in the Premier League by playing in a more competitive league against better teams and better players. Thats what he did. I dont know (nor does anyone) if he had stayed at Lille whether he would be now at PSG in their current thinking as its not clear to me that his game would have been given the chance to develop to the same level elsewhere. He became a stronger, quicker, fitter and more consistent player with us due to the quality of the opposition and the type of game played in the UK. Thats why Cabella should come too.
  7. Unsurprisingly, Montpellier fans are questioning why Cabella would join us due to the obvious lack of ambition at the club. http://www.montpellierinteractif.com/board/remy-cabella-t3540-180.html (mhscforever)
  8. Its one hell of a bluff then. Russia may recommend that individuals sell US treasuries but what other assets would they hold instead? Putin's zero-sum diplomacy is high stakes shit.

  10. At the other end of the house vibe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS21hV5ySAc
  11. This got a mixed reception, quite like it.
  12. Sun Kil Moon is a definite contender for album of the year. Sufjan Stevens has a hip-hop record out on the 18th.
  13. It got a red raw stripe on it and he cut it off in disgust.
  14. Cant defend Pardew for this but i think its very fair to highlight the hypocrisy of cunts like Savage and Souness and to generally denounce anyone taking the moral high ground.
  15. He didnt read my post properly by the looks of things.
  16. Thought they played really well and were unlucky.
  17. That all said, what should have been a brilliant weekend of football has been completely spoilt by Pardew. A cracking away victory with slick counter-attacking goals, Mourinho writing a new chapter in 'Zen and the art of football team maintenance' with the 5 second half time team talk, the mackems thinking they might have a chance of a trophy before it was cruelly pulled away from them, Manuel 'old cunt' Pelligrini living up to his nickname by getting the name of his team wrong. Even Big Sam had the decency to lose. Pardew's stupidity has spoilt all that enjoyment.
  18. Thought this summed it up nicely. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20140302/alan-pardew-newcastle-epl-5-thoughts/index.html?mobile=no The bit about the Stoke match sums up the incoherence that is modern moral outrage. The hysteria around this just makes people look up their arses. "On Saturday, Adam's display suggested he was not content to be loathed in only one half of North London as he set about planting his studs into Arsenal players. First he caught Mikel Arteta above the knee. Then he stamped on a supine Olivier Giroud. In both cases, the ball was nowhere near the point of contact. Either tackle could have caused serious injury to a fellow player. Both were far less forgivable than Pardew's brush with Meyler." Henry Winter was on the other hand claiming that Pardew was endangering the lives of Sunday morning referees. The idea that violence in working class football leagues is a response to or even a function of the touchline behaviours of managers on the television is a PhD thesis in social psychology leap too far for me. If this link is proven then we need to censor all violence on our screens. What a load of bollocks.
  19. Fucking hell, glad you're ok Doc.
  20. Meyler called him an old cunt.
  21. Sarkozy and Platini brokered the Arab/PSG deal, as if FFP will be an issue for them. Maybe a fuss will be made but no decisions will go against PSG. 100% guaranteed.
