  1. “Hello police? I’d like to report a murder. Victoria Derbyshire had just stabbed Jeremy Clarkson to death in central London” ☺️
  2. I go on call on Monday nights, we go right through to 8am the following Monday morning… which for me was this morning….so I’ve drank more tonight than I should have for a Monday after 7 days abstinence
  3. Not Guinness tonight just bitter for ewerk
  4. Between the ages of 18-22 Weller wrote some lyrics which, for his age, class and education, are fucking astounding 👍
  5. Scotland winning 0-1 in Warsaw at the break, Doak with another assist for McGinn, hit the post and bar too. That’s not to say Poland haven’t threatened but 42 year old geriatric jambo (ie the same clan as @Toonpack) Craig Gordon has been great…. and Lewandovski isn’t playing, obvs
  6. Yeah mate if Wobble is up the Cluny or somewhere I’d definitely recommend, his band are great, the drummer is phenomenal 👍
  7. Weeeelllll… I was too young for the pistols but PIL were another early obsession. Thing about them is Lydon was dragged along by some utterly brilliant musicians in PIL and I think most of what they’ve done really stands up to this day. Am toying with seeing them in May because this will probably be the last chance to see them play these songs. Individually their bassist Jah Wobble is just about my favourite live act. His gigs are an astounding sonic experience….this is a pretty straight take on my favourite film soundtrack, it’s just fuckin brilliant…
  8. I think the Jam (and the Specials) were the first two bands that I properly became obsessed with as a kid. I’ve gone in and out with Weller over the years, wasn’t fussed about seeing him earlier this year but the missus said she’d like to go and it was only 10 mins down the road so we did and it turned out to be a really good night. All the Farage/Weller dads were there and I hope they enjoyed the Palestinian flag he had draped over his amp. Say what you want about his music but his principles have remained intact to a much larger extent than any of his peers. That fuckin prick Lydon supported Brexit ffs..
  9. Our family home in Scotland was haunted by a woman my father could remember from his childhood. I have told this story on here before so I’ll leave that that unless prompted
  10. I’ve heard that too Kev. Were you at the Mayfair gig?
  11. Son of a diplomat v son of a milkman… that imho was pure jealousy . WMIHP is easily as good as anything the jam did but Joe knew he wasn’t from a council estate and all his good words & works wouldn’t change that and I think it genuinely fucked with him 👍
  12. Were you at this @spongebob toonpants?? Anyone else?
  13. Yeah I think that last comment was from a highly motivated individual with narrow point of view…she’d fit in well here 😆
  14. Did they say it in commentary?… I draw the line at that cunt Dixon so it’s on mute
  15. World Cup semi final, Turin 1990 . England v West Germany ☺️
  16. Reading some stuff on Elon’s cunt app.. the usual suspects appear to be suggesting that Starmer in his days as a human rights lawyer may have been in some way responsible for the father of the perpetrator of the atrocity in Southport this summer actually being in the country. Who knows what that would mean for public order after the carry on in the summer. Farage is behind all this, I think when Labour pissed the election he decided he’d have to destroy them using profoundly undemocratic means
  17. To be a tiny bit serious; Trump’s victory will possibly see the revival of the Middle East peace gig where Israel and KSA pretend to be best buddies so they and Trump can wipe Iran off the face of the earth which had been stalled as its final sign off was imminent. It was put on hold due to the events of October 7 last year
  18. And this bottom tweet might well be important for this country. Sarah Kendzior says the same. Nearly two decades of digital work by people actually trying to tell the truth is currently being destroyed by those in whose interests the truth is a huge inconvenience
  19. Keep all this in mind and you’ll not go far wrong on Musk and the other wankers who inhabit this particular vile sphere of humanity https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/nov/17/how-to-survive-the-broligarchy-20-lessons-for-the-post-truth-world-donald-trump
  20. It’s downbeat and the lyrics are on the glummer side of melancholy but it’s still really good. I’d agree with Rents but I’ve stopped thinking about life as intensely as I used to. I honestly think that’s due to getting married in my lovely Paisely shirt last year
