Alan Pardew insists Newcastle United still want star striker Journal

Nasty! Happens quite a bit on the Iphone because messages automatically open on the last person you sent a text to. Once had a big row with our lass and sent a snivelling grovelling apology covering the whole argument to my best mates lass.

Hard to beat the lakes like. Right on our doorstep as well.

Absolutely gutted to come home. Bit of rain on the Friday night but it didnt spoil the lakeside trek to a lovely pub a mile away. Wifey got caught short on the way home and ran off the lakeside path, straight into a bog Sanl straight up to her knees and as she tried to pull a leg out, ended up on here back. Queue lots of screaming and a mile trudge back to the shower blocks looking like the swamp monster. She still isnt seeing the funny side. The campsite was first class and you could literally camp 4 feet away from Ullswater edge if you wanted. Lovely play park on site for the kids and as its also a working farm, lots going on. Also a Burger van on site that opens for full english on a morning and burgers on a night for those not wanting to cook. Pubs in Pooley bridge were very nice and the lakeside walk, minus the bog, is lovely and full of rope swings over the lake. We pitched on an electric site to allow a heater in the tent for the baby (wasnt needed) and also to allow full use of the George Foreman for breakfast sausages and evening burgers. A lovely stream ran behind us which was excellent for keeping our cans nice and cool on the end of ropes. Cant recommend this site enough and now looking for somewhere equally as nice for the 29th July. Fair to say we are hooked.

The Rock 8 /10 Sean Connery, Nicholas Cage and Ed Harris. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117500/ Quality action adventure as it should be. -
Unfortunately old being, my atrocious spelling would trip me up.

Kevin Nolan was a proper captain, Joey should have been the next captain and Colochini for me is a bit of a daft squib in this role. I am not too fussed because the "Captain" at times is just a symbol and I have no doubt it will still be Barton, barking instructions, geeing players along and dragging us back into games when it goes wrong.

I bought three yesterday, one for me, one for my daughter and one for my mate. He doesnt know yet so if he says he cant make it, your welcome to one. (appreciate its not four). I'll be seeing him tomorrow so will let you know in this thread one way or the other.

Or perhaps you could have clicked the link, saw the picture of the squad sitting in a big paddling pool and just posted one of your famous

Apart from the fact every single club on the planet does it to some extent. Transfer income is just club income like any other. I think its the implication that without selling, wages couldn't be met that is a bit unbelieveable as it would be reckless at best. Club A with mediocre league position and mediocre squad loses money after taking into consideration all money making revenue. Club A wants to challenge for Europe by improving its squad, which involves increasing the wage bill. Club A must surely lose more money? Cant understand how people still dont get this or what Im missing.

You'll have to explain what these "other means" are when the clubs losing money. Heres the link where Chez discussed it btw to save him repeating himself. http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...&pid=926085

They may well do it, I just assumed you needed your own. Never mind.
-
They hadnt better cos Ive just been and paid 30 quid for a lead

Absolutely. Wages are part of the running costs of the club and that in turn should be paid with monies coming from TV and sponsorship deals as well as merchandising, tickets and match day income. I've enevr heard of this policy of using transfer fee's recieved to pay outgoing transfer fee's AND wages. Smokescreen? CT im all for us streamlining and aiming to run at a profit whilst building a team but this to me just doesnt make sense. I agree with your latter statement however...If we can tie Enrique down to a new contract and bring in a quality 10mil striker then if that was the end of our business i'd be pretty happy. I'll only say this once because Chez says it so much better..... The club has been losing money year on year. This appears to be a fact according to most recent accounts. You have found gems like Enrique and Tiote etc who have come good and want mega wages (by normal standards). You either say no and sell them, ie a selling club (as Leazes keeps arguing) or You give them the mega wages to keep them at the club. That extra money has to come from somewhere ? I cant see how you can have it both ways. You either want the club to try and keep the best players by paying big bucks but then cant comnplain because the club is finding the means to do it. It is unrealistic to assume that wages ceasing to some players, usually the poorer ones are going to fund the wage increases to the bigger players. Just for the record. I'll leave any further comment to chez as I cant be arsed with the usual back and forward with the usual people today.
