plus points good engine tackles well. negatives distribution poor technique average short range passing ok long range passing average positional sense average not vocal movement average. with this in mind i'd sell him, or use him as cover for nicky butt. butts got better basic technique and short range passing skills. he also keeps the ball better and playmakes better from deep (though by defenition he is not a playmaker).

sorry what was i thinking, your right, mcstay was not particularly great, and mcallister was really good, durrant was a great player before his injuries. lambert was a good player as well, very under rated. apologies for backtracking.

your right about lampard he's a good goalscoring midfielder. and there is the dilemma of gerrards rather patchy form. Lampard will score 20 goals because he plays higher up the pitch than most and the partnership between him and ballack is a mystery, both are good players, ballack for example the better playmaker, lampard capable of the hard yards required to get into the box late and score deflected goals... my point is probably moot but here goes... players like joey barton and gareth barry etc need to be getting in the squad because they are younger and the future of england. i know bartons a lairy c*nt and barry is not the worlds quickest (for example) but both should be good enough to play against israel, and both should be part of the future of england IMHO (even as squad players)....
