  1. good point. i'd much rather have a proper playmaker than a box to box guy. with the proviso we keep a holding midfielder as well
  2. classic great player/thick as shit punditry from beardo. lovely hair though.
  3. FWIW. better technically than either butt or parker. can playmake better, not quite as good defensively as butt. would take him as he's younger than both our defensive midfielders and for my money the best prospect of all 3 (bearing in mind butts age).
  4. Gotta say I agree with you there mate. Legend. That's a mong-tastic photo, could be Damien Duff's brother. windowlicker tastic..... why you wearing yellow craig, cos its the same colour as the bus you use to go to work...?
  5. honestly, given is good enough, owen if he comes back anywhere near the player he was will be great, parker is not effective enough, butt getting too old ( though up until recently would have been my player of the season). dyer is a great talent but we see too little of him ( up until recently) ameobi is good enough to play in the premiership but in a top 4 side, no way. milner and the zog are both good prospects and taylor will be as well one day but he needs leadership from a senior centre half. emre is too inconsistent.... as is martins. Duff as well. sad thing is i definitely do not have the answer. free transfers and suchlike (loans) notwithstanding i doubt very much whether we'd have much chance in the window. we do however need a leader in the form of a manager. not the spineless twat in charge of the first team.
  6. would get the players playing for each other and gets good results compared to many of his peers. look at how much he's spent and how much spurs have spent for example. probably the best results for your money boss in the premiership.
  7. i don't think any one here is that bad tbh.
  8. can't fault his willingness, can fault his lack of ability. as for carr he can fuck off.
  9. Is that glenn roeder will never be good enough to manage us, as typified by the drab and uncreative football we play and the players we have on board that do the managers bidding. for me we need rid of most of the first team squad and the manager, but bearing in mind our cashflow situation, and the FACT that the way we negotiate leaves us with a big problem (i.e. high wages for average players) what would your solutions be?
  10. left midfield or left back... word is i have great vision and crossing ability, but my tacklings average-ish. difficult to get the ball off mind.. and reasonably quick, at pre seasons tests we all did 100metre sprints and i came 3rd... good at freekicks as well. shit at heading though.
  11. whilst i don't agree that going down would be good for the club, i do really think it would be good for clearing out personell that have underacheived/ sulked/ been shit/ whatever..... trouble is with the way the clubs run i really think we are stuck in this terrible rut for a number of years. even with owen and ameobi back to bolster our forward line. fat freds going to cheap out on buying players and also keep low paid manager/ coaches here. we've been needing to move with the times for a number of years now and really we need rid of all of the shit thats playing for us. the brambles/carrs/babayaro's / bernards etc etc.
  12. the trouble with employing any decent manager is the shower of shit that runs the club. newcastle united is the only place in world football where the accounts are on the back of fray bentos wrappers in crayon. any decent manager needs to be allowed to use the players they want to fit with their tactical system and its meddling like this that should cost chelsea the premiership because the manager did not want shevchenko.... for example... our boss currently clearly has favourite players that rarely perform and should be dropped, yet he displays all the spine of an invertebrate. currently with fat fred at the helm we will not get a decent manager.... at all.
  13. clearly out of his depth. clearly without a clue. its time for the big red card for you glenn...
  14. in theory we should win, in practice i doubt it. 2-1 to city.
  15. seems an ok prospect but nowt else.
  16. had two excellnt forwards then though... look at our forward line now.... rooney who despite his obvious talent is not doing it and johnson whos nothing more than a stopgap.
  17. walked into that one a bit holden didn't i . dime bar table 2
  18. my pc at work won't allow me to do the quotes so i'll just say quoted for truth Ally... for my money lampard is an occasionally effective player at european/world level but is not consistent enough. in the premiership however he's allowed the freedom of being able to go forward without repercussion so that he can score goals at will. he is renowned for on pitch sledging and general bad sportsmanship. i'm surprised he's not england captain tbh...
  19. positive spin on that is that our first choice right back is (in all of our eyes but not glens) solano. carr is shit and a waste of the salary... i'd still take brown as he's a very good if injury prone player. can also do the job at right back.
  20. class but quite simple to do really. shows that simplicity works very well.
