  1. 3 / 5 at the back might suit us away from home too. Would certainly suit Coloccini. Collocini in front of back four instead of Smith maybe. He couldnt do a worse job It might suit Nolan better too a player that lacks spatial awareness in front of the back 4, and who fanny's around on the ball. thats collocini. Nolans not a holding player, he can't tackle. and his passings not that great. other than that they are fine
  2. she's pretty much gone. married a few times as well (9). not good. on a side note: Toonraider, glad you are recuperating.... hope you are doing as well as can be expected.
  3. that Kyiv shirt is really fantastic.
  4. nani's much improved btw. but perch doesn't look competent enough. not by a long way.
  5. Ok the expected thing happened and highlighted a few weaknesses. We did get well beaten, but I really do not think we are in such a bad place. Positives for me were carroll being a difficult physical presence, Williamson at the back, the organisation we showed ( with the exception of the goals of course being the exception). Routledge looked a bit tricky without much end product. Tactically I think Hughton sharpened us up, and we were strong in the challenge, and quick to the ball.... what on this showing do you think we need, and where do we beleive we'll end up in the league. i'm going 14th....
  6. Surprised you can sit on a chair with your knee jerking like that Honestly what were the doom preachers in here expecting last night? Were a promoted team who were playing man u away from home. Were any of you expecting different? Was anyone expecting something other than a tough season this year? I quite agree like. It was a poor display (I think what made it annoying was Man Utd coasting to what could've been an even bigger win without having to try really) but I thought there were some promising signs too. I'd like to see Steven Taylor back and installed at RB and a fit Campbell alongside Williamson. Then if you got the Guthrie in the side (plus a bit of flair like Ben Arfa) then things aren't quite as gloomy as people are makng out. I thought Carroll caused problems and did quite well (despite missing the sitter). Obviously it'll be a hard season. Steven Taylor at right back would get murdered in this league. Nowhere near quick enough, nor good enough on the ball.... against the real shite teams of course he'd be ok. but against the top 10 sides he'd be out of his depth. reckon a fit campbell alongside williamson would be a good partnership though.
  7. as i stated on the official match thread, he often bailed his more celebrated partner out. the best of the 4 defenders we had on the pitch last night. doesn't appear to have an ego, just gets on and plays.
  8. Agreed. With a creative (and more importantly mobile) second/split striker or attacking midfielder we’d cause far more problems. Nolan was out at sea last night, the game really passed him by because primarily he isn’t mobile enough. Secondly when he goes forward doesn’t carry enough of an attacking threat. Bartons passing for the most part was quite good but he’s still prone to the odd ghastly howler. Smith did fairly well considering. Enrique didn’t do bad against the wide players, but made an awful rick for the first goal. For my money our best player was Williamson. Thought he got his vastly more experienced partner out of several scrapes. Looks a good player and wasn’t fearful of the utd forwards. Collocini was on and off, the second goal was typical of him, (i.e. use your left leg to block, you daft sod). Perch looks eager but nowhere near good enough A fish out of water indeed!).
  9. thats about right. the french championship is notorious for being a very low payscale compared to the rest of western europe.
  10. Sir les was fading in the last few games of that season, but he was a fantastic player for us. worked perfectly with shearer playing as his foil as well. now if we'd have had both playing up front for us that season we'd have won it. don't think any team at that time could have stopped us.
  11. he'll be off to fulham. when he was at blackburn he played easily as well as when he was with us. never quite prolific enough for them so the numbers don't quite add up in terms of goalscoring. with our cap of 25-30k for new people coming in i don't think he'd drop to that level.... shame, but he'd definitely get us further up the table.
  12. the reason we got relegated. sorry, one of the reasons. massive ego belies a fair bit of talent that was never fulfilled at our place.
  13. We’d be foolish not to take him on a half season to a years loan, get us higher up the league and consolidate for a push on the top 10 next season. Without, it’s going to be tough. In terms of ability he’s a wide forward or second striker. He’s not comparable to martins as he is: A). able to create goals out of nothing for his team mates – Martins was always blinkered and just went for goal. . has a good work ethic C). doesn’t lie about his age D) Is not a traditional centre forward. Note how he often played on the left side of the front 3 or as a left sided attacker (even though he’s all right foot). He’s an angry tosser but really I can only see us benefiting with him in the side.
  14. Clancy's a depressive cokehead, thick as mince with no talent... who gets supplanted by an £800 a night scummy hooker. Cole is..... not that bright, racist, cannot sing ( i know this as a fact (a friend engineered some of her more recent work and said he'd heard better noises coming out of a curry house crapper)) and has a nose that could open bottles. nice.
  15. another american athlete dies young-ish. shame, but how many of them are actually clean (as in drug free).
  16. my local side afc wimbledon, have just taken on an arsenal reserve left back and he's definitely got something about him. apparently the arsenal trainers weren't happy with him doubling up as a robber and a drink driver. could be worse, what with all the chelsea players being such good role models?!?!
  17. he'd prob expect a rise... i don't know what he's on, but from what i gather, the french league does not pay too well.
  18. As I mentioned before I think Bellamy is as good as Tevez yet they're ready to offload him it would appear. I know he's older etc. but it's not like they need the money. I'd also add Ireland is as good as, if not better than, Milner. Ireland's a brilliant finisher really composed player and passer, but do we really want someone who told the world his nana had died to get out of playing for Ireland, when she's sat in the hoose alive and well watching Dickenson's Realdeal? The young dipper they have is better than Guthrie as well if they're looking to offload him forget his name. according to those in the know at city, its widely accepted that even now in terms of talent, Ireland is one of their top 5 players. mental fragility and lack of strength and toughness (possibly mental, possibly physical) may well have cost him a place there. maybe he doesn't want to fight for his place?
