Nah, he was born in Maryland, USA. Stephen Decatur, US Naval officer who said; "Our country - in her intercourse with foreign nations, may she always be in the right, and always successful......right or wrong" -

I do, not always pleasurable, don't always like the line-ups, but as an American once said; "My country, right or wrong" -

Not surprised Shelvey & Lascelles were not included in the England squad. Albeit they have on occasion put in sterling performances, I've never thought they looked England quality. Of the two I would have gone for Lascelles because of steady performances, Shelvey's been up & down like a yo-yo lacking consistency. -
Thing is, you keep harping on about 'lower division' as though that was a cemetary.

There is a tendency to forget that prolific goal scorers in lower leagues often attract attention, and sometimes when they are bought-up for their ability to score goals at a lower level, they succeed at a higher level. Classic example is Vardy, Halifax Town, played 37 scored 26......Fleetwood Town, played 36 scored 31....then Leicester in the Championship & Premier League and still scoring goals.

Mitro scores 2 more for Fulham, 7 goals in 5 games. Our leading scorer has scored 5 all season. Did Rafa get it wrong?

Great home WIN. Great 3 points. Great help in goal difference. Great other results. Won't make any comments about anyone except the Keeper, looks like we have a jewel in Dubravka. -
Perhaps because he hablos espanyol, just like Perez.

Which is a fucking shame. I always liked Mitro and thought he would come good for us if given a chance and a run of games instead of keeping him out of the big picture.

It's a sad state of affairs when I'm hoping for the team I dislike the most to get a win. If we weren't in such a dire situation I would have been wanting Palace to stuff Man Ure.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too surprised if we shot ourselves in the foot again with Southampton. We have a track record of not winning games we should have. -
Rafa's Window Licking Fart Suckers v Bin Dipping Job Dodging Hommes
Noelie replied to wykikitoon's topic in Newcastle Forum
No surprise here, expected to lose, just hoped it wouldn't be a cricket score. Defense did well other than the 2 goals. Might of been a different game if Diame's shot hadn't been saved by their keeper. Disappointed at the amount of times we gave the ball away in the first half, and failing to keep possession. Was surprised at Rafa's starting line-up with Kenedy, Atsu, and Murphy all starting together. Merino was a given with Shelvey being unavailable. Down the slippery slope another place due to Swansea's win. As I said, other results have just as much importance as ours at this crucial time. -

I can't help but think that Liverpool will declare after building an unsurmountable lead, (mind you, 1 has often proved to be an unsurmountable task for us) -

I'm wondering why Merino is not getting any game time of late, he's become a 90 minute bench warmer. Has he had a falling out with Rafa? after all he has shown he has some talent and has impressed on earlier appearances. -
