I think there's plenty of songs new and old and plenty of people singing them. Just that none of those people are in the Gallowgate, East Stand or posh seats. Beye, Butt, Martins, Ameobi, Jonas etc. all have their own songs. I've seen it said on here how "Liverpool slums", "Sign on" and that are cringeworthy too. What are we, running the NME now? Personally I think any song people will join in with is a good song and I'll join in too. Well Im in the NE corner, near enough to hear the Ultras when theyre in good voice and all I can honestly say Ive heard sang is renditions of "toon toon", "Newcastle, newcastle, newcastle.....", "Oba Oba fey" and "stand up if you love the toon" oh and the odd "Habib Beye Beye". If there are new songs doing the rounds then we as fans arent doing enough to get them promoted and known by the majority of fans, Thats not a criticism of the Singing section, its critical of us all, we live in the most technological age ever where it would be possible to write a new song in the morning and have half the crowd knowing it by kick off yet we dont do anything of the sort. How come back in the 70s all the fans knew all the words to all the songs going yet now 3 quarters of the ground dont even know they exist? Maybe if all message boards, websites and fanzines had a concerted effort to get these things sorted then we'd stand a chance, it must happen elsewhere as like I say, the likes of Liverpool have new songs every week or so.

Yeah no bother, Im sure that in this business he will be different to how hes ran all of his other businesses, Im sure that his personal fortune dropping ridiculously and his heavy gambling losses will make him release funds. Im also sure that black is white and Baggio is not a wanker. Nice to see NUSC lose their last bit of credibility by claiming Ashley only decided to announce he's staying to spoil Sir Bobby day btw, Peasepud. If yesterday was the best NUSC could come up with then good luck with getting people to renew their membership. Do we have a case rested smilie? please feel free to show me anywhere that the NUSC have claimed that though. It was read out on Sky Sports, plenty of people on N-O who heard it and have been talking about it. I know you don't like going in that thread on there because you can't handle any sort of criticism direct NUSC's way but perhaps you should. It was read out? as an official statement of the NUSC? because the official statement to SSN was via our spokesman Michael Ord who was interviewed at 9am yesterday live. He clearly did not say that Ashley had only said it to scupper SBR day. And I know this for a fact. Anyone who would believe that a football club owner would decide not to sell a club he had for sale because he wanted to piss on someones chips would be a total fool. If you arsed yourself to read up on half the stuff that you claim to know about you'd find that you were talking shite as usual. And I can and have taken criticism of the NUSC, as has been proven by the numerous posts Ive made in that thread, the fact that I choose to spend my time somewhere else promoting the NUSC is a simple fact of life. Ive given up on N-O being somewhere thats worthwhile promoting it as a number of people there are determined to see it fail. No problem, theres a hundred other places it can be promoted and its better to spend my time on those. Plus they have a resident member on there so I'll let him talk to them. As much as you want this to fail, the proof is in the pudding, regardless of the fact its been going less than 4 months and that it charges a membership fee, this is the Newcastle supporters group with the highest number of members (a number that the FSF see as quite remarkable considering the short amount of time its been going), This is the group that the media (including SSN) are coming to first for comment and this is the ONLY group (that I know of) that actively canvasses the members views on subjects and that you can trust those results from. Yes that canvassing has only recently started but the fact that it has, and will be regularly is testament enough.

Why do many continue to post about that we will sign duds for peanuts? I am no Ashley fanboy but why are you so sure he will invest nowt and that it will be shite players? Colo, Guti, Bassong and Guthrie (for the money paid for him) have all been good signings so far. Admittedly Xisco and Speedy were panic buys (though I would still give Xisco a chance as he came with a semi-decent reputation). If Ashley etc bring in players that are of the same standard as Bassong, Colo and Guti I couldnt care if it cost them 2 million or 20 million tbh.. Because that is the Mike Ashley business model, he buys a business, sells off all its good assets then replaces them with average, cheap goods which he then sells on at a profit later on. I dont necessarily think they will buy duds but what I do believe they will not do is buy proven world class players at the top of their game. Everything has a price tag in the Ashley world, everything and that price is not necessarily set at the "fuck me you'd be an idiot not to sell at such a profit level". A profit is a profit to MA. He will try and squeeze as much out of each player as possible. Buy them in cheap, offer low wages (meaning we attract less quality), build up their profile and sell on for 2 or 3 million profit, repeat until fade..... For one I dont think we could afford them nor would they want to come. Owen aside, and even he is debatable as it wasn't as if clubs were lining up to sign him, when was the last time we signed a proven world class player? Shearer? All this talk of asset stripping, who have we got rid of to make a quick buck other than the media reports? Yes we sold Milner, but at 12 million who wouldn't? Yes a mistake was made in letting him go and not bringing in a replacement but how do we know that the intention was not to bring someone in but the end of the transfer window scuppered that. If we are going to be taken in by whats reported who is to say that Robinho not going to Chelsea affected the supposed move by us for Malouda? So far I have seen Faye and Rozenhal shipped out and replaced by Colo and Bassong who as of late have looked an impressive partnership and Guti replace Milner, again an upgrade in my opinion. You could argue we have not replaced the likes of Emre but did he ever need replacing? The proof will be in what he does in January as to how serious he intends to take the club forward but I don't for one minute to expect him to spend silly money. And so it shall, if however we sell Given, Taylor, Owen, N'Zog then thats 4 replacements required on top of the strengthening we already desperately needed. My moneys on us at best breaking even, sell those and use the money to buy maybe 6 or 7 lesser players. Thats not progress its asset stripping at its ugliest. If two of those players turn out to be Xisco'esque ie disappear without a trace then we are no better off than we are now. I dont expect the big money signings or silly wages, thats not running a club properly within its means but I do expect actual investment on top of selling players we DONT need.

Doesnt even appear to exist if you listen to JFK.

http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastl...61634-22564573/ Again, I ask you Joe what about Xisco? Is he even still at the club? does he ever have a part to play?

http://www.newcastlebanter.co.uk/2008/12/w...ss-mr-newc.html MR Newcastle????? Fuck off Farrington you tool, no doubt you'll soon be taking his place as the most reviled "Newcastle" journalist going.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_4716027,00.html Now then Joe, I thought you'd held these talks just a few weeks ago and were promised 15million?

In any normal situation Id be saying "bye bye Taylor" however he is clearly better than any of the cheap dross we are likely to replace him with therefore Id rather he stayed.

All, Im compiling the list of SBR comments made and about 40-50% of them mention the fact that they are Liverpool fans, it appears that as many LFC fans as Newcastle have posted in his honour. These are going to the Chronicle and SBR soon so if you havent posted something (and want to) could you post it urgently even just to make the numbers up. http://www.nusc.org.uk/sbr_messages.php

Notice however that as soon as people give him stick for the shit he posts then he disappears for days. Tosser tbh

Firstly I echo NJS's comments about the big games, we as fans, definitely step up our game when we play the likes of the top 4. That is wrong, we should be giving 110% at every game then maybe fortress St James' would really exist as it used to. Secondly, I think we've lost our ability as a fanbase to control situations. Where are the chants? when was the last time a new song was aired? you look at the likes of Liverpool and they bring out actual songs for players/ situations. We've sang the same old crap for years now, theres no moving stirring anthem like Liverpools YNWA. No proper piss ripping anti-away fans stuff like "Poor Little Hammer" or "Liverpool Slums". Personally, I think "Toon Toon" is one of the most cringeworthy chants ever. Bring back some of the old stuff, we need people leading the songs as we used to have in the Gallowgate/ Leazes. "Give me an N.. N N, give me and E.. E E ......etc". Then theres the players stuff, I do believe that Owen doesnt appear to get the praise he deserves simply because we dont have a song for him! Oba lays a ball in, Owen scores we sing "Oba Oba Fe.." because we havent got an Owen one! Finally, we need to properly co-ordinate the singing, even the Robson Wonderland yesterday didnt work, Level 7 started it but by the time the Gallowgate and East Stand joined in L7 had stopped, a single ringing chorus stadium wide would put the shits up most teams and give our lot a proper boost. I do think we have one of the best sets of fans in the country but I think we've lost our spark, our ingenuity and most importantly the Geordie wit that used to be a major factor.

Well lets see what the future brings, Im not happy about the thought of him staying but at the moment this club needs stability. He now has no excuse not to invest in the transfer market. As for the timing well hes a cunt. Only two things can come of this, either any protests are muted or the day is ruined and he can claim we're all bastards because we didnt even observe the SBR day. I do hate the bloke with a passion.

The Inevitable Knee-Jerk/Headless Chicken thread
peasepud replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
we're not going down. It's only over-the-top over-reaction types that "know" that we're doomed. Currently we're a mid-table club, so that's where we'll end up in the league. If you honestly, HONESTLY, think that a moderate and considered view like that is stupid I'm fucking aghast. But of course, come the end of the season, I'm sure you'll be first in line to say that I was right... So because we're currently mid-table means thats where we'll end, what about two weeks ago? we were a relegation placed team. Surely under your logic that meant we'd finish there? Not what I meant mate. I meant in the scheme of things we're a mid-table club. Not because of our leagueposition at the minute, but that's just our status as we speak. Man U are a title chasing team, so that's where they'll end up, chasing (or acquiring the title) I can't see clubs like ours being the source of great drama or shock. It's not that we're "too good to go down" or any of that nonsense, it's just that, despite the outcry, we're not playing as bad as people make out, nor are we playing as well as others are. We're playing average, and our league position reflects that, as will it come the end of the season. Ahh right, and what makes us a mid-table club is the quality of players we have then. Well come February I believe we will officially be a relegation candidate then. -
When he was here he was fairly stable.

Ive got one of them Griffin iTrips which is fairly good, think it was about £30 from ASDA, it transmits to the radio and has a built in charger as well. What's the sound quality like btw? Just with it using radio frequencies. Its a funny one, when Im around here then 88.9 is near perfect CD quality. Trouble is if you go on a long journey then you find local stations intefere and you have to hunt out new ones. It can be a pain but general day to day use its fine. I've never looked at it properly but Im fairly sure its straight forward to wire the iPod into the Aux jack of the car stereo. The only pain being the running of the wire and getting a good place to dock it.

Agreed, for cataloguing catalouging keeping track of your images then Lightroom pisses on the rest. To be honest I hadnt realised you could do those things in Photoshop though.
