  1. Bollocks! I look more like Ewan McGregor than Renton does
  2. Then maybe it shouldnt be flowers. Isnt there something more appropriate you all could do to remember and honour him?
  3. Just been given the lowdown from the Grade 6 (ie the bosses bosses boss), most of the stories are bollocks, nobody has resigned (apart from Paul Gray :yayyyyyy!!! ) nobody is in a safe house (where that shite came from this morning gawd knows!) and so far nobody has been disciplined... so far.
  4. Disgracefully, the main ITN news last night was virtually outting him, they reckoned he was 23, an AO (Admin Officer) and had resigned yesterday. If thats true then this is a total disgrace, Im not a union person or someone who believes in striking but this is one time that I would happily come out in support. If the lad's an AO then theres no way he should have been in a position to do anything of the sort never mind the fact that (according to rumour) he sent an email to his boss questioning the validity of sending it the way they did and was told to do it. As for the senior management refusing to provide a smaller chunk of the data without any of the sensitive material because of cost then I can believe that. The place has become a joke with its cost cutting and silly red tape stopping people doing their jobs.

  7. Highly unlikely now, seeing as how the Met Police broke open every drawer in the place over the weekend Haven't heard much Pud. Where did they do that? Longbenton? Nah, Washington office, lad I work with his missus works there and she came in Monday and thought they'd been burgled, everthing was open and stuff missing with receipts on desks for anything taken away.

  9. oooooooooh hark at you lot, one goes on a football forum trying to wind random people up while another reads comics, glass houses and all that jazz like
  10. Its believed so, but we dont have any record of it going to TNT it was sent through normal day to day internal courier ie not recorded or registered. Which sounds as Laz was saying as if its been put in a "grid" and dropped in an out tray for a messenger to pick up and pass to TNT.
  11. Very competitive rates will apply
  12. Pud - is it true they were sent in a grid? I 'believe' so, Im not involved in any way so couldnt comment properly but thats the word going round that basically someone created a copy of the data stuck it on two CDs and then put em in a grid addressed it to "Mr Bloggs, NAO, London" and dropped it in the out tray!
  13. All I can say is its total lunacy the way this "disc" was produced and issued. That is, if the official statement is true. However, from what ive read its a catalogue of errors and stupidity to even think its a good idea to create a copy of the data and send it via the bog standard internal post to a random person in NAO! A lot of work has gone on in the past couple of days however to review all possible procedures and data transfers we do to make them more secure and at the moment theres a total block on anything going anywhere until we can be sure its sorted properly.
  14. I can sort you webspace and the domain name for you. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll sort a price etc out. And Jimbo.... what domain is this and why dont I host it?????
  15. Former Great Britain captain Mike Gregory has died after a four-year battle with a neurological disease. The 43-year-old former Warrington loose forward had been suffering from a form of motor neurone disease and had been confined to a wheelchair for 12 months. The illness forced Gregory to leave his job as Wigan coach in 2004. During a distinguished playing career, Gregory captained Warrington and Great Britain, including on a tour to New Zealand, and won 20 Lions caps. The Wigan-born Gregory, who leaves a widow and two sons, lost consciousness on Sunday and died on Monday. It is believed his illness was the result of an insect bite while he was on tour of Australia with Great Britain's academy team in 2003. It is thought the bite caused him to develop progressive muscular atrophy. Gregory played virtually his entire career with Warrington and also captained GB to two Test series victories over New Zealand. The highlights of his international career included a long-range try in Sydney in 1988 to clinch the first British victory over Australia in a decade. Warrington chairman Lord Hoyle paid tribute to Gregory, saying: "I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Mike's death and my thoughts go out to his family and friends. "Mike served our club with distinction as a player for 12 years, including captaining Warrington in their last Challenge Cup Final appearance in 1990. His brave battle against illness and his efforts to raise awareness of progressive muscular atrophy has been an inspiration to us all. He will be greatly missed." After his playing career, Gregory began the Super League era as assistant to coach Shaun McRae at St Helens, who lifted the inaugural title and twice won the Challenge Cup during his time on the staff. Gregory then coached Swinton before joining the backroom staff at Wigan, initially as academy coach and then as assistant to Stuart Raper. He succeeded Raper at his hometown club in July 2004 and, after guiding the Warriors to a an 11-match unbeaten run culminating in a Grand Final appearance, was given the job full time on a two-year contract. In the following May, he guided Wigan to the Challenge Cup final but that was to prove his last match as he was forced to step down because of illness. Gregory took Wigan to a tribunal in March 2006 over his departure and the club made an ex gratia payment of £17,500 to him. In September of the same year, more than 5,000 fans turned up at Wigan St Pat's amateur rugby league club for a testimonial match which raised more than £25,000 for Gregory. Former Wigan and Great Britain centre Joe Lydon said: "Anyone who played with him or against him or watched him play would have respected Mike for his courage. "He brought that same courage to his fight against an appalling illness. We are all lucky to have known him." Rugby Football League executive chairman Richard Lewis said: "Mike was among the best players of his generation. He set a shining example with the character, bravery and determination that he showed on the field of play." Wigan chairman Maurice Lindsay also sent his condolences to Gregory's family, saying: "Mike's death is a sad loss. I was fortunate to be the Great Britain tour manager in 1990 when Mike was our captain. He was a leader in every way and was our most inspirational player during the Test series win against New Zealand. Sadly, illness prevented Mike from spending more than a year as Wigan head coach but we will all have great memories of him as an outstanding player." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_league/7102375.stm
