  1. At least I know my place. It's not even about that, there are plenty of people that are just as devoted and local as you but go about it in a better way and don't feel the need to ram things down people's throats at every opportunity and would make people proud to be associated with.
  2. Yes, first time since the last time you quoted everything within minutes. You're obviously a fan of irony... but this one might be lost on you.
  3. Fucking obsessed with Newcastle-Online. Every comment copy/pasted within minutes.
  4. Was great when he had a go at Lampard those few years ago. Said what the whole nation wanted to say
  5. What the fucks that got to do with a Newcastle United footballer referring to another club as United you complete bellwhiff? Because it's a trend you set. Anyone that has anything to say that differs from your ideals gets latched onto with insults and aggression using any of the above as a vehicle. In your eyes there is only one worthy NUFC supporter. I'm not going to pretend to know more than you about what went on in the 80s, but I feel I know enough to comment about how to me this 'United' thing is a clear question of common sense and context. But anyone defending it is a Sky poser boy that should fuck off and support Man Utd. In a sense, yes you are a more worthy and a truer supporter than most but the way you go about is very alienating. Having a go at Simpson's allegiances when he's one of the players that has given the most for the team out on the pitch these last two seasons is a good examples of not really picking the right battles.
  6. If ManU were playing Newcastle Utd (or Leeds, or West Ham...) and someone referred to either team as just 'United' then of course that would be dumb and disrespectful. But getting wound up about it in a circumstance like this when neither Chelsea United or Barcelona United were playing is just as annoying as people wrongly using 'United'.
  7. Nothing wrong with referring to any team as merely "United" if they're the only ones involved. In any case, I'd say Simpson busting a gut on the pitch almost every game speaks louder.
  8. Should have the quotes thing reduced even further, maybe 2. No need to go that far back especially on here where I see people always quoting whole articles or posts to comment on them when it's the opening post of the topic (therefore what the topic is all about!) or even the post just above theirs (takes on silly proportions when it's two people having a back and forth).
  9. When did that ever happen?
  10. Blindly followed him having forgotten who it was... was worth it though, apparently he's had a hard life, battled all sorts of things so he should be applauded for his opinions... or something like that Prat.

  12. Chris Hughton forgot his brain again this afternoon...
  13. Was actually a very good listen for those that can be bothered...

    Banned!

Yeah it was, I really cant remember what game it was. Would have been in Europe, but cant recall who we were playing. Two games we played in France against Metz and Monaco. Just Monaco actually. Had a sponsorless shirt at Metz. ... probably shouldn't have bumped this stupid thread just for that
  15. The original Smodcast one is becoming my least favourite of them all. Kevin Smith tries a little too hard sometimes... "and whatnot" Tell-Em especially, Get Old and Babble On are great.
  16. His outburst was more about not wanting to go back to Marseille. We just happened to be the only ones in for him at that time.
  17. Exactly what I was thinking
  18. http://www.rtl.fr/fiche/5948099605/jean-cl...e-ben-arfa.html "I won't go back to Marseille" were HBA's last words, your reaction? - We can't accept such an attitude. When you're a professional and have a contract you should respect it. - I saw him at the start of the week he only stayed in my office for about 40 seconds. I can't say too much about his attitude but it wasn't acceptable. - We need to find a solution, because I don't want to be the person that will end Ben Arfa's career. That's what the situation is right now if he doesn't have a club. Offers that have come were either turned down by him or by us (because they weren't acceptable). - Yes we encouraged offers to come in for him, but transfer windows can last a long time. Situations change and clubs are allowed to change their minds. - Yes, Deschamps told HBA back in July that he didn't need him anymore, but that has changed. I have to follow the wishes of the manager. - Deschamps changed his mind because Niang received an offer that we couldn't have predicted a few months ago and that was impossible to turn down for Niang and for us. Also Niang would probably have made things even more difficult for us than what HBA is doing now... **rants about contracts not meaning much these days** HBA has been saying things like "I'm not a puppet" do you understand his position? - Once again I don't want to stand in the way of his career when he acts stupidly like he is now. - We can always find solutions when conflicts arise. - If he was open to a dialog then maybe we could talk to each other for more than just 40 seconds. There's been no contact with him since. - If there's no discussion then nothing will happen and his carrer will end as he's an employee of our club. - If we do talk then we might find a solution. When you say you don't want to be the one to end his career, does it mean you envisage his departure? - I can imagine it perfectly well but only if the offers we receive are acceptable. It's not just a rumour that the offers so far have been too low, you know what the English are like they always try to make the most out of any situation. - What HBA is doing is helping anyone. - I'm hoping that we end this circus and go back to a more human and normal relationship. Let's sit down and talk.
  19. How would you translate bouche-trou out of interest? He isnt there just to make up the numbers? Yeap exactly. Literally: just filling a gap.
  20. Alan Smith can pop up anywhere so we never know.
