1. I dare say you are right. It just seems that Souness is always talking to the press, and telling us how good the spirit is at the club [which I resent because I see it as a jibe against Sir Bobby Robson who he would be a lot better off trying to learn from]....but never mentions the results !
2. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005460833,00.html British Legal System produces reformed characters .... Whats the phrase you use Rob "he's done his time, leave him be " ? 43904 I'm not sure I can see what the point of that article is tbh. Do you think we should change the law as necessary an immediately because someone's a scumbag? Anyway, I think for the past 3 pages this thread should have been moved to general chat. Can't a mod move it? 43936 aye it has gone off topic. It's all just a long running discussion regarding justice, law etc etc....national service etc etc but this bloke Hoare is just an evil twat of the highest order who should be boiled alive for me. And I really can't see why anyone can think anything else is appropriate or more deserved.
3. Strange, when here in Jormany the juvenile criminal law was reformed and "education" instead of punishment was introduced it had a lasting effect on the criminal statistic concerning youth. The percentage of reoffenders dropped and much less juvenile criminals were ending up unemployed and starting criminal careers. Even most hardliners are only demanding more severe punishment for reoffenders and major crimes but not for first timers. 43944 first time anyone has specified first offence anywhere that I've seen. As it happens, I agree with this, everyone makes a mistake sometimes, its the serial offenders who know exactly what they are doing who I have always been on about
4. he never saves any penalties for us !

6. wait for the fences to come back now !
7. I'll do it for 25%.... and I'll also salute Mr Souness and even call him Sir if it massages his ego
8. Sensible post alert! 43704 namby pamby do gooder poster alert ....... the growth of teenage indiscipline and nature of violence, has occcured since the birth of the liberal "treat em kindly " approach [even Rob knows this I bet].......deterrent works much better. I see none of you answered the previous question about being kicked in the knackers .....

aye, I'll try that cheers mate
10. "Lacklustre attitude" - Aaaah I see - it means I'm not in favour of hanging children for stealing, whipping people through the streets, hanging in public, islamic punishments and all other things that have been tried and don't work Unfortunately (as seen at the Labour Party Conference) laws don't necessarily just get the people YOU want to hit but a lot of others as well.................. Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent .... Leazes...... 43609 A last resort but effective I suspect for those who have been given every opportunity to show respect for others in accordance with the pc correct brigades bleatings

he came round to my house to check his account, I was hoping to find his freeserve registration details in his yahoo account, but he had nothing there. He says he deletes everything .... ! He won't have a contract or if he did it will have run out, he has had it for about 2 years at least. Yep, mate uninstalling and re-installing is what I would do you've confirmed that..I have wondered though if his modem is just knackered altogether too, and I don't know how he could test that without trying another one yes, his pop3 address is mail.yahoo.com [similar] so his mail goes straight into his yahoo box, he doesn't have a mail account set up at all in freeserve...the tick in the LAN is odd I suppose I could untick this easily enough because I could switch it back again if needed. yep this is how I thought they were supposed to be set up !!! Cheers PP, I'll tell this to him......unless he needs a new modem. I think that I will tell him I will set up a new account and if nothing responds we will have to work on the basis that his modem may be bust as he is getting the "not responding" message
12. Not in the least surprised by Robs response to be honest. Compare his venom towards McKeag with the lacklustre attitude towards things which don't directly impact him.... i'm all right Jack I agree totally with PhilK's post BTW, the PC correct, softly softly try to understand them has failed completely. So lets go for the "Daily Mail" whip their arses off and teach them a lesson ... Question for Rob and the other appeasers. If you were out of order, what would make you change your ways, love understanding and a free holiday to make you appreciate the civilised way of doing things, or a good swift hard kick in the knackers.

its for my neighbour. Basically, his son put a programme called bluetooth on his pc, he's using windows98se. I'm not sure where it went wrong, but suddenly things stopped working. Real player, and he couldn't connect to the internet for 2 things. After uninstalling bluetooth, the above 2 things still remained unchanged. Now - he is on freeserve, like me, but for some reason his son has defaulted his pop 3 address to yahoo, so his emails go direct to his yahoo address. He has one of his connection switches ticked on LAN. Is this because of him defaulting to yahoo .. ?? he says it has always been like this. Also, his dial up details in internet explorer has a password in his "tools" setting but not his internet explorer !! which he says he cannot remember and has never typed in to log on as he has always automatically logged on and so the auto connect box has always been ticked. Sorry if it's confusing ... he's a pensioner though and so I am wondering if the best solution is for him to either try to remember his password, type it into his dial up and then log on. If he can't remember it, does he have any other option other than opening a new account for freeserve instead of his current dial up one ie penny a minute. If he decides to cancel his current freeserve and start a new one, does he have to ring freeserve or can he just make a new one, as it's penny a minute dial as you go ? And - if I set up a new account for him, should i set it up like mine, and receive his e-mails through outlook express, but tell him he can still use his yahoo address as he always has done and to ignore outlook express and just consider it to be the system he uses to log on with ? Tried to be a clear as I can and thanks for any good info
14. maybe they are all turning out mindless robots...apart from Rio bloody Ferdinand who has a column in every paper 7 days a week it seems .. Wait a moment, Rio Ferdinand IS a mindless robot
15. Fair points, and of course probably correct. If you remember a few years before he got control he was on the board when they initially floated the idea of buying shares... etc I can't remember the details, but the offer was to buy 100 quids worth minimum but it failed because they didn't get enough buyers ! I know this because I put in my 100 quid and it was returned with a letter asking if I wanted to donate it anyway to something, I don't remember what. Cheeky fuckers.
16. It contributed to us losing that lead, there were other reasons so I don't blame him for that. Over the time he was with us, he was largely a waste of space. Most of his best performances were in europe. In the premiership he was largely shite, he scored some goals, but so did Kluivert - admittedly he wasn't as shite as Kluivert though. And yes, the Barcelona night was his golden moment. I realise I'm in the minority on this one, but I just like footballers who produce the goods on the pitch, not just flamboyance when they feel like it. Sorry mate.
17. 43244 Was hoping we'd seen the last of the bulls lug knacker waste of time to be honest
18. I don't know. What I mean is the only person who talks to the press is Souness. Is this healthy ? At other clubs, players talk to the local press. The conclusion is they are being prevented from doing so, which is pretty daft and isn't enforcing discipline or showing trust, it's just treating them like kids. If he is so confident he has signed the "right sort of players" why doesn't he let them? And no, even Bellamy didn't gob off to the press, it was Robert who did that. If one of those rapists turn out to be one of our players though, thats Souness claims totally in flames though eh ? As he also keeps saying the spirit is so good [disgraceful allegation against what he was left by a vastly superior manager and person, discussed elsewhere] it would be nice to see if some of the players came out and said in fact this was true......
19. no Newcastle players speak to the press anymore ?
20. It is a scientifically proven fact that excessive alcohol consumption can lead and is a major contributor to muscle injuries. And what muscle is the most used and vunerable on a footballer? (besides that one!) It is also alleged that Newcastle's managers, current and previous, have a relaxed attitude to the party lifestyles certain players have. It's not rocket science really is it? 43148 this is recent info which has came out of the club....the material the players train on I mean. He has said they will stop training on it. Meanwhile, he is spending time thinking up his next excuse ........
21. Bobby Robson got us out of the relegation zone and up to mid table. Then we treaded water for a few years until he bought Bellamy and Robert ! Gullits team - well you can compare it with Souness'....in a way...."good" players but a shite man manager.. which is why we were struggling....until he was replaced by a proper manager...this is the point myself and others are making ....... As for Arsprilla....he's the same as Kluivert, a waste of space twat who was not interested in playing for the club very much. Which showed in his lack of desire on the pitch on too many occasions. And yes, before anyone comments, Arsprilla had his golden moment as did Kluivert but football is more than that. It makes me smile when people castigate Bellamy for "walking out of training" because he was unhappy with the manager wanting to play him out of position, or sub him when he was the best player on the field, or with his overall idea of how he wanted to play for the best interests of the club, then the same people have nothing but good words for wankers like Arsprilla who went onto the pitch when it mattered and didn't bother turning up at all ............... And as for "on paper". Well Kluivert was good "on paper", as were plenty of others like Gui'varch, Maric, Marcelino, Dumas, Andersson, Gavilan, Bassedas, Viana, Faye, Babayaro, to mention a few. I also think that Kevin Keegan leaving Newcastle is the biggest mistake he ever made, the same as Craig Bellamy. And no, I'm not arguing with you mate ..........
22. whoossh yerself.....whats the 12 word gag all about anyway ?
23. I remember the game, I was in the Leazes and Cole got a hatrick in the Gallowgate within a short space of time. Maybe the demise of Liverpool was down to Souness, although maybe it was just the end of their dominance, the start of a new era born of the Premier League and Sky. The same could now be said of Manure today now Chelsea are on the rise, does that make Fergie useless? My point is we have changed managers way too frequently over the years with no success born from these changes. That suggests not the managers being the core problem but something else more complex with the running of the club. If it were as simple as changing manangers then surely a couple out of the dozens we have had would have won something. 43072 The core running of the club changed in 1992. Since then we have operated in a different league entirely to what we did before that. We may have won nothing since 1992, but such a period and utter stagnation that we suffered for nearly 40 years before that doesn't change overnight. So you should really count only the last 4 managers, or 5 including the current one in the context of "something more wrong with the club", or "changing managers too often", the last 5 managers have all been given the opportunity to be successful. None of the others were, and it's to Joe Harveys eternal credit he won the Fairs Cup with the utterly shite board he worked under. The same as all the other managers who gave us a taste of success, Gordon Lee building the team that finished 5th, and Arthur Cox re-building the club on a shoestring after the McGarry [fuckwit number 1] years too. This limited success was achieved in spite of having a shower of shite in the boardroom. For me, going PLC destroyed the club that Keegan built because Keegan went with it. We were a proper football club, run and managed like a proper football club, for those brief 5 years. And it all stemmed from Keegan, ably backed up by his chairman. The walk out after the Swindon game was the best thing Keegan ever did, because from that point on he had made his ambition and determinaton not to settle for 2nd best apparent to everyone, and when Sir John realised he had the right man he never questioned him again. I don't think "continuity" in Souness case is an issue at all. He's the wrong man, so shouldn't be here. Get the right man, or the man you think is the right man, and give him time. We stuck with Bobby Robson through the first few years because in spite of having a fairly sticky time he had the pedigree behind him and you could still sense he knew what he was doing. But he lost his way in the end. He was 72 !! When we sacked Bobby Robson last year, we should have stuck with Carver, or someone as a temp boss while taking our time waiting for the right man. The same scenario and solution applies now. There is never a bad time to sack a shite manager, or to appoint the right manager either ! I would go with the fact that Dalglish and Gullit were not given time, given the criteria above, even though I was not over struck with Gullit personally, although there were not too many discerning voices when they both went.
24. Alex, you're right. But 'good on him' is what I say. LM is passionate about his loathing of Souness and I think he is just showing his passion on these pages. Whether he is right or wrong we don't know, but he believes - with a passion - that Souness is taking this club downwards and he is demonstrating this on here. Without LM's posts on Souness, this forum would be a far sadder place imo. Keep on keepin' on LM - right or wrong. 42862 I agree, I like Leazes. Unlike the other two stooges (where is UM and HTL btw?) you can have a bit of banter with him. He is obsessed though. I wonder if he's seen this new smiley yet 42877 LOL...cheers both of you ....... I may hate Souness but don't recall starting many threads apart from the 2 recent ones. Saw the smiley too....can I copyright that as well ? Renton agrees with me as well !
25. Alex - do you have to pay if you type more than a dozen words ? 42627 Yes 42720 I wish Leazes Mag was limited by such considerations aswell the fucking 42932 yes ? If you don't to read them, don't. Shame, but I don't recall reading any of your posts .......
