why indeed, good question. The answer IMO is that I for one would have sacked him ages ago, but others such as yourself take more persuading that he is the fuckwit some of us have been saying for months.......unfortunately only a defeat of the magnitude of this sunday will maybe convince you .. now that isn't OUR fault. So it isn't us who are turning up the pressure of our local derby, if we had a good manager and were winning games I would be looking forward to giving them a good thumping ..... on the way to greater success. At the end of the day, the mackems is a derby game and has extra spice, but I want to win EVERY game, which is why I want rid of Souness. 46468 What the hell are you on about? So because I don't want to love on Sunday I'm now a Souness lover am I? Give me strength! 46489 Crikey Sned I'm not trying to argue with you man.....nor did I say you are a Souness lover at all...I'm only giving my view on the question I clipped ...

It's possible....although extremely unlikely. Icegrim and Meenzer have convinced me he is a top man-manager to stand alongside his achievements.

would have been a top quality "squad" player ..... and dare i say it may have also got a few games on merit ..... for what portion of 50m quid ... rather than whinge on about having a [self inflicted] small squad ..... There are plenty others about. Wigan proved that yesterday.

Absolutely. This is the point.......how many judges are giving lenient sentences because they know they aren't enough prisons ??? And maybe they are being directed to give lenient sentences because there isn't enough prisons ??

LM, doesn't that article contradict a lot of what you have been saying? 46399 That contradicts everything he's said and backs up what other like me and Rob have been saying - in the long term if you want "decent" citizens from people who've either made a mistake or are "genetic" scum then prison isn't the answer. As I've argued unpopularly in the past on paedos, if someone like this rapist committed his crimes due to an actual mental illness then I'd rather he was treated and cured rather than "locked up forever" as LM wants. Do we want a society where "ill" people are jailed? 46415 I think LM's point is that it depends if it was your daughter or someone elses daughter. 46445 I understand where you feel you can say that, however I only did a quick look and found the article which makes the point that being released doesn't mean you are "cured" and can still be a danger to the public, and also the fact that even Lord Woolf - who himself is usually a woolly headed liberal - has said that the present system hasn't worked, and isn't likely to work. Despite Robs statistics. Like all other parents, you look after your own, however just because a victim is someone else's daughter, or son, and not yours doesn't mean you should be indifferent . We want to make the country a safe place for everyone, and you aren't going to do that by setting dangerous people free. I simply cannot see how Hoare can be "cured", and feel it is simply a matter of time, particularly if you have read the recent press about him, he sounds just as sick as ever.

which would be cheap at the price

another pointless reply

I don't have any doubt either, I like us being near the top of the table and them being near the bottom

won 13 drew 17 lost 8 [premiership games]

Like Renton I'll try not to hijack whats a good idea either pp...but what would cause the most dismay, losing to the mackems or Souness still being here in 3 or 4 months time and Hitzfeld [or the right manager whoever he is] ending up somewhere else ...
-
totally agree. Offer him the job, tell him it is his whenever he is ready to start. But kick Souness into touch anyway and just wait for him.
-
Witness for the World CD by Cry Before Dawn. Brilliant.
-
well said and well done admitting you were wrong about him I can't wait until the day the fuckwit is drummed out myself, it's my birthday soon ... Hitzfeld as new boss would be a pretty decent birthday present
-
I haven't brought myself up to hearing his excuse this time - yet. But thanks both of you, somehow I just knew what it would be ....

Wierd...but when Hameobi came on today, a lot of things went through my mind. The main one was remembering this, and the fact that fuckwit decided that Shola Ameobi was a better employee for Newcastle United than Craig Bellamy, along with Amdy Faye and Craig Moore being better than Aaron Hughes, not to mention recommending shitface model pro always injured Dyer being worth a new contract which is now costing us 80,000 quid a week.
-
sorry mate, I realise you are trying to justify the sale of Bellamy and defend Souness by saying he's been replaced by Owen, but he hasn't. At the end of the day, if it cost us another 10m quid to partner Owen next summer : 1. There is no guarantee he will be as good as the player fuckwit sold 2. You are then looking at the sum of 26m quid to replace Shearer and Bellamy and build a new striking partnership, when it could have been done for 16m [or 20m if you take Bellamys fee into consideration] - thats a lot of money, we could have bought a top player for another position with that 6m quid, thus lessening the opportunity of fuckwit to complain about injuries weakening his small squad, which is entirely his own doing.
-
wasnt that your application for the gynachologist job? (and no I cant be arsed to go check the spelling!) 46158 depends what they mean by "experience"
-
Well at least you admit it. 46140 True. As I suspected all along. Now we know why he doesn't give a toss for working class rabble ...

In some ways that result was more of a blow than the Belgrade game - the 7 or 8 games after that were were poor and that continued generally into the next season.. Results and finishing position do count but there wasn't that much difference between the last two seasons in terms of overall "excitement" or "satisfaction". Something like 11 points and 9 places don't really matter to me - I think we've been in a rebuliding phase for two years. If anyone honestly thinks the "3rd top" team were only a couple of players away from being higher they're dreaming imo. 46147 3rd top is 3rd best at the time. The table doesn't lie. Then 5th top is 5th best. We have gone backwards since and anyone who can't see or accept that is dreaming imo. Any manager with 50m to improve a squad that was 5th top .... and can't do it .... has got to be a clueless fuckwit. End of. As I said, you should have said 2 years ago we needed to totally re-build our team/squad. You didn't, and neither did anyone else, for the simple reason we didn't think we needed to. If he cannot improve on 5th for all this money he is out, but don't say some of us didn't tell you when the full financial cost becomes apparent of his reckless actions, rather than making excuses for him. At least Terry Macs appointment as a spin doctor hasn't been in vain. If Souness buys players who are always getting injured, the buck stops with him for appointing the training and medical staff. Likewise if he buys players who are constantly crocked anyway. When you are talking in figures of 50m quid to buy footballers for the club, there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever.
-
So the rose-tinted specs don't come into it when they don't help your argument? 46137 it's not my argument mate, I'm stating a stone cold fact.
-
it is correct. There wasn't one person on this board, or any other person I knew, who said during the summer of 2004 that we were on the slide down into even a mid table place, never mind the bottom half. Every single person on here was pissed off we weren't in the top 4. We all to a man felt we should be doing better. Not one person said we had played above ourselves, not one. We all said the exact opposite. Whatever position we "stuttered" to...it doesn't matter how we see it, the fact is if we finish 5th this season [unlikely with fuckwit in charge] it will be the same "stutter" because the standard hasn't changed at all, the top 3 are miles ahead and we are further away then ever before. You've allowed the Souness spin to lower standards mate, and even convinced yourself the squad needed mass changes. The same as those who say Bellamy had to go, they didn't think this before Souness came....no one thought the team was on the slide at the time either. To repeat my previous question, lets not make excuses for Souness here. "How much money exactly do you think should be needed to build a SQUAD of players to match an already assembled SQUAD of players and STAY in a european qualifying position ?"

Idols before the match has gone back a bit ...
