Yes Gemmill, the performance is the most significant thing in a league game, because this is the best indicator of how good we are. enjoy the win, yes of course, but with reservations as PL says. It's a stay of execution, goals change games and we got them at the right time and staved off a certain defeat. Exercise judgement, or don't criticise Shepherd for keeping him when you take the same view. The best tactics are the ones Keegan employed, thats why we finished higher in the league than we have done for 70-odd years. It's alright saying we could have closed those games up against Liverpool and Blackburn, but there are plenty of other games where we went for the 2nd goal, got it and sealed the game. At the end of the day, we just weren't quite as good as or at handling the pressure of the run in than manu, but we would have gained from it if Keegan had stayed. Team selections to an extent and subsitutions are tactical changes, sure, Keegans big mistake for me was changing a winning combination ie arsprilla, losing Venisons experience and Fazackerly, tactics I think are basically making changes through the game if isn;t working out for you, but sitting on a lead - never. I understand what you are saying but I think by being positive Keegan was employing the best tactics thats all, which is playing a way that suited his players, not get them to do something they weren't so good at.
