  1. Don't know if its improved since I went to a game 10 years ago - the occasion was enjoyable because of the enthusiasm of the fans but there was just something wrong with it that I couldn't put my finger on until my mate summed it up by saying it was like Women's football - nobody put a decent tackle in all game.

    Earphones

Yeah Shures are the biz - I have a pair of 4s - get some off E-bay as you get a range of ear inserts or can buy new ones so no hygiene worries.
  3. Drug-addled, sixth form, posh twat twaddle.

    The Dark Knight

I've enjoyed a couple of the modern films but Batman is still Adam West for me.
  5. Again missing the fact that Gillespie was kicked out of the game for 3 months by a dirty manc cunt. "because the defence was a joke" Fuck off you know nothing piece of shit. (Yes I'm still bitter)
  6. That's what you get for putting false gods before the true religion of football.
  7. Not too bad - my resolution to get to more home games is only mildly affected by the two monday nights and what particular time in the drinking session that London matches kick off isn't that big a deal.
  8. What was that really sick one that Frankie Boyle came out with about half way through? - he had two last night that really made me laugh - the latter being the pregnant bloke blowing his cock off. Edit: just iPlayered it - it was the one about there being nothing on the internet he wouldn't masturbate to.
  9. Partners bringing the money he seems reluctant to spend could be the best of both worlds.
  10. Fair Play. Just shows you how daft the money is now. He also had to retire with an injury which I think nowadays would be fixable - I think it was a cruciate. He was done by a dirty bastard who played for Palace called Mel Bligh. My claim to fame is that I had a letter published in Roy of the Rovers saying that players who put out other players for a long time with malicious tackles should get long suspensions as punishments - inspired by Bligh/Green.
  11. I'm just too young to be able to comment on Tony Green from a personal pov but I do remember my Dad and Brother enthusing over him. However I think it has to be put in context - he was a shining light in a shit team - in fact his achievement was to almost single-handedly save the club from relegation (something repeated by Gazza in 86/87). I also think theres a James Dean /Cobain factor here where his worth is exaggerated by his early demise. I suppose the shining beacon thing also applies to Gazza in his time with us but I think he went on to show how good he was (though limited by stupidity) which Green didn't.
  12. So what will the cunt do if Spurs, Everton or us take the team he signs for place in the CL next season and maybe for the 2 or 3 years after that? I hate footballers.
  13. That's my attitude but I'm worried by the Intermedia statement.
  14. I get what you're saying but Maric and Rozenhal spring to mind.
  15. Finished second that year, I think. No that was 96-97 - the next season everybody got caught up in the fa cup (understandable) and didn't notice we finished 4 points off going down and were lucky to play Chelsea when they had the cup winners cup final to play on the wednesday after playing us and turned up in plimmas allowing a win which made us just about safe.
  16. I enjoyed it but I think as it was coming to the end (98 I think) we were looking a bit iffy for relegation under Dalglish and it got a bit uncomfortable.
  17. That was first experience of The Simpsons and as a result I really didn't want to like the show - then my brother got Sky and one episode (the NASA one) got me hooked for life.
  18. Second best album in the thread so far (after SBS).
  19. Had input to the decision (as in asked my Mam to buy it -at a very young age) - The Jungle Book soundtrack. Actually bought myself - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
  20. That's what differentiates a "normal" bloke who might get caught up in a fight with scum imo - just like the stamping and assaulting a woman put them Goth murderers two stages beyond scum. In that vein notice how Barton's mate stamps or kicks the kid when he's down as well.
  21. That's the one he's serving for, although in fairness I've seen nastier fights between 5 year olds than that, if that is indeed of his scouser bashing. Typical scum how the lass (his cousin?) gets a couple of digs in while the kid's down.
  22. I agree but I do have a problem with private healthcare which is twofold - firstly because the rich and powerful can and do opt out of the NHS I don't trust their commitment to it - I think if they had to use it then just like education it would be turned around awfully quickly. Secondly the private sector poach staff from the NHS which means their training costs are practically zero - leaving aside the "theft" of tax paid for skills if they had to fund their own training then the costs would be completely prohibitive.

    Oasis

All of their albums have some decent stuff imo - though I agree with Meenzer that they are very much associated with a certain time. Off stage I have a lot of time for Noel but obviously think Liam is a wanker - him losing his teeth to what were later described as IT geeks was great.
  24. The only context I've heard of emphysema in is coal miners - that tells me how fucked she is. I actually support the legalisation of drugs in general but you'd need to show examples like this to demonstrate how much they can fuck you up - though that would equally apply to tobacco and alcohol.

    George Carlin

RIP Might use it as an excuse to watch Dogma - I didn't realise at the time how ironic casting him as a cardinal was given his views on religion. As well as the one Jimbo posted I'd recommend his piece on the ten commandments. Edit- in fact: Ten Commandments
