Don't know if it has been mentioned but if we can sell players can we not the sign players while the takeover talk is on going? ;)

We can, with shareholder approval, and now that it appears Ashley has gotten over the 50% mark it will all be done on his say so.

Not the £8.5m we were hoping for.

Not making a loss on him anyway, which is something of a novelty for this club.

The profit off Parker..

It's all gone on Viduka's wages ;)

Am I the only one who's not to happy about this? Selling Parker and bringing in Barton/Reo-Coker is NOT gonna strengthen our team.

Barton is a lot better footballer than Parker, Reo-Coker has had a bad season but he has the potential under the right management to be better than both of them.

West Ham are believed to be close to sealing a £7m deal for Newcastle captain Scott Parker after fighting off late interest from Tottenham.

Hammers chief executive Scott Duxbury held late-night talks with Parker's representatives following Spurs' move.

Parker is reportedly set to meet West Ham officials on Thursday after a fee was agreed with the Magpies.

The England midfielder, 26, played under Hammers boss Alan Curbishley when they were both at Charlton.

West Ham are in the market for a central midfielder, with skipper Nigel Reo-Coker set to move this summer.

Parker spent seven years with Curbishley at The Valley and made his England debut against Denmark in 2003 before completing a £10m move to Chelsea.

But with first-team opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge, he moved to St James' Park in a £6.5m deal in 2005 and was made skipper last summer.

However, reports suggested Parker struggled to settle in the north-east and was targeting a move south.

New Newcastle manager Allardyce is believed to be eyeing out-of-favour Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton as a potential replacement.

Just need Spuds to make a stupid bid for Dyer to make the fantasy complete.

The stuff dreams are made of... that'd be great

Big Sams decisions to date have been spot on imo. Parker wasn't happy so he's got shot and for good money. Just need rid of the whingeing Turk and the playboy and we'll have some serious funds to spend on some midfielders who want to win things not just masquerade as pro footballers.

I reckon Butt will be made captain next season
