thebrokendoll 8902
truly a harrowing watch, probably more so than anything I've ever watched or remember on the miners strike and orgreave in particular before. why ill take a hatred of thstcher, the tories and sadly the police also to the grave. heartbreaking I thought to see some of these men still broken by events from 40 years ago, but nonetheless a must watch.... 3
Alex 34417
@spongebob toonpants and @PaddockLad I’m not sure if they cover this episode on Chart Music (only about 30 episodes in) but the TOTP from 23/09/1982, currently available on iPlayer, is a good one. Craig 6657
Only Murders In The Building. Needs a Disney+ subscription but it's fucking hilarious. Gave season 1 a go and now halfway through season 3.

Me and my brother were born a year and five days apart, our birthdays are both in the last week in October. In 1982 I got the Survivor single and he got the musical youth single as birthday gifts

Metro Radio roadshow on first and I got Paddy McDee’s autograph Actually Pass The Dutchie (which I know is a sort of cover) sounds pretty fucking good after all these years. And nowt like the sort of cheesy reggae I’d kind of categorised as in my mind.

thebrokendoll 8902
watched this the other night, possibly not a recommendation as such, because fucking hell it's grim. I think as soon as it was announced that a festival had been attacked in israel both mrs tbd and I knew it would've been a psytrane one, it's a huge scene over there and there's always a big Israeli presence at the likes of boom and ozora festivals. anyway, in no way lessening the horror of what happened to others on october 7th or subsequently to those in gaza, imagine dropping acid or mushrooms to dance while the sun rises and your trip turns in to this? I genuinely hope the survivors will find it in themselves to dance again. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0023b3m/surviving-october-7th-we-will-dance-again Edited September 29 by thebrokendoll

Really enjoying this although I think I've got out of the habit of waiting a whole week until the next episode drops. Wish I had had the patience to wait until the series was done. Joker 2 looks good on the trailer, but the reviews are gash I see. Shame, the first film was brilliant. Edited October 7 by Renton
Gemmill 43513
Do you have to have watched the three hour long Batman film to enjoy this Penguin thing? Sounds like it follows on from where the film ends up.

Gemmill 43513
I genuinely didn't see Joker in that typo BTW. I thought I was missing out on something else.

Naah, I don't normally go for Super Hero films or series. I weas thinking about it the other day, but in fact I seem to have an aversion from any media where the protagonists are "the good guys", although I realise Batman is a grey area there. So I can't be arsed with any detective stuff unless the detective is a right dodgy bent fucker (sorry Vera). All the stuff I like is from the villain's or antihero's/vigilante's perspective, absolutely love the Boys for example. Spiderman can get fucked though. Joker, Penguin, yes; Batman, Superman, no. NJS 4329
I'm enjoying that Kaos half way trough - I'm viewing it as a bit of an alternative history thing as well as myth retelling - I've often wondered what the world would be like if Constantine hadn't chosen Christianity - I know that would have meant Roman gods not Greek but I'm sure there are turning points for that switch as well as the Norse ones. I watched the first episode and enjoyed it but apart from a reference to the flood at the end of The Batman it's standalone.

Joker, Penguin, yes; Batman, Superman, no. i'd honestly give gotham a go mate. i loved it me, as a long running series probably only behind breaking bad and g.o.t. without having read old dc comics meself apparently this is a well researched history in to gotham's criminal underworld. really interesting to see the main characters developing. penquin, the riddler etc all really well played i thought and although he isn't named as such, the joker, who's a fucking nutter! as regards detectives... donal logue plays harvey bullock superbly and ben mckenzie also superb as jim gordon, hamming it up at times almost as well as bruce campbell in the the 2nd and 3rd evil deads. oh and amongst the many, many stunning dusky maidens (take note @Monkeys Fist ) an honourable medntion has to go to the red head who plays the grown up poison ivy....
