When all he should be saying is "all I'm I retested in is 3 points atQPR".

"As soon as I know we're in this division"

Suppose it would have been a laugh if he had just repeated a stock phrase verbatim, Miliband style, but then he'd be getting stick for dodging the question, from people looking to pick holes in anything he says or does.

His problem this season lies in the fact he's worried too much about the opposition and neutralising their threat instead of concentrating on playing to our strengths. Every pre-match interview talks about "the threat" from other players, and his lineups and formations aim to stop them playing instead of having a go and trying to actually win a game with some conviction.

Alan Pardew has admitted he is facing the sack at the end of the season.

Newcastle manager Pardew says he will have an "uncomfortable" showdown with owner Mike Ashley, as he feels they have both "underachieved" during a campaign that could yet end in relegation from the Premier League.

An inquest due to be held after the Geordies' final game, at home to Arsenal, on May 19 and Pardew conceded that Ashley could decided to ditch him and "move to another manager".

Pardew is hoping last season's fifth-place finish, and an understanding that injuries, pure bad luck, loss of form and the demands of the Europa League are genuine reasons behind the failure, will keep him employed.

But he also pointed the finger at his superiors and said they must share responsibility.

MD Derek Llambias admitted last month that the failure to seal key signings last summer, when in a position of strength, did not help.

As he prepared to thrash out the future, including his own, with the club hierarchy, Pardew said: "It'll be uncomfortable for us both, because we've both underachieved. Him as an owner and me as a manager.

"We need to find out what the reasons were, and then it's for Mike - hopefully with me - to decide how to go forward."

Asked to explain how exactly Ashley had underachieved, Pardew replied: "I'm talking about as a club - we've underachieved as a club. So the point is: We all take responsibility.

"I don't want you to draw that up as anything else. I'm trying to make the point that we've got to be honest.

"That ultimate decision is not mine, so we could get the points we need and Mike could decide he needs to move to another manager.

"I like to think that he won't, that next year we'll stay with myself, and we need to make some changes and we'll do that.

"We know we've got an uncomfortable conversation regarding the form this year, the underachievement that's been mentioned, and everything else.

"My job is to manage this football club with dignity, with honesty, which I've done - not just with the players but with the press and, more importantly, with our fans.

"Hopefully it'll be good enough to keep my job. It's a privilege and honour.

"I'm confident enough that I want to be the manager of this football club.

"Some of the issues I've had this year - the injuries more than anything, to key players at key times - have been a massive blow to this football club. That's something we can't afford to happen."

Pardew said the planning meeting will be held as soon as the season finishes: "Soon as me and Mike sit down. Soon as we know where we are - what division we're in - because we don't know what division we're in yet.

"We finished fifth last year and everybody perhaps assumed we'd roll into that sort of season again. We didn't. Those reasons I shall keep to myself for this time, but I have relative views on that. In terms of, 'Were we good enough?' Well, we couldn't have been, because this is where we are."

Sources claim Ashley has been supportive and encouraging with Pardew this week as he tried to earn the win that should guarantee top flight football next season.

Pardew says one of his first jobs - if he stays on - is to convince centre-half and captain Fabricio Coloccini to honour his contract, and not return home to Argentina.

Having his skipper wanting to walk out on the club mid-season is another mitigating, and destabilising, factor Pardew has faced.

He said: "It is something we'll have to address in the summer - how the season's gone, how he feels about being at this football club.

"When he plays for this football club, when he's played since I've been here, he's been brilliant.

"I will fight for him to stay. Ultimately it'll be Colo's decision."

Newcastle visit already-relegated QPR - the club Marseille and France striker Loic Remy snubbed United to join in January - on Sunday.

Asked if he could now make a fresh move for Remy, Pardew said: "In the summer, we've got to bring two strikers into this football club, in my opinion.

"Therefore, I'm not going to dismiss any striker I think has great quality - which he has.

"We were disappointed how that ended. We made that clear to his agent and to the player that we were upset about the way it was done.

"They maintain it was done in an honest and honourable way, therefore I have to believe that."

I'm still adamant there was no need for him to get into this a day before one of the most important games in our recent history.

Christmas Tree,

Christmas Tree,

Ridicule is nothing to be scared of

Don't you ever, don't you ever

Stop loving Fergie, telling us he's handsome.
