Surprised Chez Given didn’t just install him as his PA if he’s available on those sort of wages. Imagine the champagne enemas that they could’ve had together

Newcastle have a fair few 'lads' in the team who need a bit of guidance and what not, someone to look up to.

So you have to wonder why they have gone for Pardew. An interesting chap no doubt about that

Because he frequents Lambias’ casino and is mates with both him and Ashley, understands the BBC.

I know many will disagree but if it comes out that Pardew was party to the sacking of Hughton we should give him dog’s abuse. I don’t care if it upsets the team and we end up getting relegated again. We are being made to look like the stupidest mugs in the country and the sooner we stop being a bunch of patsies the sooner both we and the club will get back our self respect. Our commitment to NUFC is being used against us. High time we realised short term pain will result in long term gain and stopped being so weak.

Spot on.

A large portion of the crowd have been stuck in 3 year deals throughout all of Ashleys shit.

That's all over at the end of the season and I think less people will be inclined to be taken for mugs.

He's going to be about as welcome as a fart in an astronaut's suit.

There's a Spurs connection too - apparently went on loan to them at the tail end of his playing career.

The amount of apathy drifting through me is unprecendented. On a par with appointing Souness, marginally (only just mind) better than JFK.

Happy to be corrected but as far as Premier league experience goes I make it....

Hughton P16 W5 D4 L7 Points per game = 1.18

Pardew P74 W25 D16 L33 points per game = 1.23

Well worth the upheavel for a proven manager of this class then

:drinks:

Sacking Hughton only makes sense if you're going to bring in a serious upgrade and back him with money, with a view to mounting an assault on the upper part of the table. Anything else isn't just stupid, it's ridiculously stupid on so many levels.

He'll never outlay money to a manager, ever.

JFK, GOD take his soul, came out of the blue, totally unexpected appointment (not the one at the clinic) so it'll not be anyone we're expecting.

... Juande Ramos waiting in the wings, I hear.

Piad a pittance, no transfer budget and the opportunity to work with the likes of Perch and Best. Ramos would have spunked his trousers at the prospect.

What a ridiculous headline. There'll be a fans' rebellion if they appoint Pardew, an ill qualified and significantly worse manager than Hughton. Whatever happens, it's clear to me that the cretins in charge have been planning this for a while, had their preferred candidate lined up and were only waiting for the right time to put things in motion. Hughton deserved better than that.
