The 24-year-old, who cost £5.7m from Deportivo La Coruna when he signed in August 2008, has made just 11 appearances for United, scoring once. He spent much of last season on loan at La Liga side Racing Santander, scoring three goals in 23 games. Boro are also believed to be keen on Hibernian winger Merouane Zemmama. He then went on to say that if nothing can be sorted by the transfer window, then they are going to try and help him get back in to the Newcastle First team. We're not waiting for clubs to come looking for you, we're ringing every club in Spain to see if anyone will go near you with a barge pole. If, as seems likely, absolutley no-one rates you and we have to keep paying your wages.....then I'd prefer it if you could earn your keep, so we'll try to help you if all else fails. How many times have we hear players telling us their team mates are Eusabio/Cruyff/Pele in training, yet when we see them on the pitch it's more Rob MacDonald/Fumaca/Sloan ? Shola's meant to be like fat Ronaldo in training but he's shite on the park 9 times out of 10. Tbf if you find the full interview it does sound like some decent management, he makes sure to point out the club haven't been great in the whole situation and if Xisco is prepared to make some changes he will too. And doesn't really make sense that we were able to loan him out under those circumstances either. Before he came here he was supposed to be a good target man, problem us there's no way he'd be a patch on Carroll.
