Demba Ba & Tomas Hitzlsperger

Ba would be an interesting signing like. Has massive potential to do well in the PL. I've always liked Hitzlsperger. He was sick for Villa at times and we'd be guaranteed a cracker or two to go in now and then like. Dont need more fucking injury prone players though. On a free though? Cant say fairer than that!

Both are free agents next month according to the mirror like. I'd have both of them in our team easily.

How? Demba Ba signed a 3 year contract in Jan.

May well have had a relegation release clause

Not on a free transfer though.

It isn't all like fm you know. A relegation release clause can mean a severance of a contract in the event of relegation, not just that a club has to accept offers. This is often the case when players sign during a relegation battle to protect themselves if the worst does happen. I am not saying that is the case for him but it is absolutely 100% possible and has happened in the past (Although more often than not with players who cost nothing to purchase) unsure whether or not ba cost them anything! All I am saying is come June 1st dependent how his contract was written it is POSSIBLE he could become a free agent!

They payed £7 million for him and i know the West Ham board are stupid but I don't think they're stupid enough to have a free transfer clause written into his contract after they payed £7 Million for him only a few months ago

It's not possible.

Sunderland and Everton have also joined the race to sign wantaway West Ham striker Ba, but Pardew is in a position to beat any offer either club could make.

Mackems will have been spitting venom at the screen reading that! ;)

for those above who rubbished my comments, please read the article below clearly stating in the first paragraph under the pictures Demba Ba is available on a free!!

That doesn't really have it written in stone for me. Speculation can be published....

I'd sign for £5m - if needed. Looks a good player.

You can find plenty more if you use google! Regardless anyway, it proves it certainly is "possible" even tho this was flippently dismissed previously!

Apologies for the poor quotation but IPhones are shite. Anyway I'm not saying it's an impossibility but wouldn't he now be out of contract and therefore not classed as a West Ham player? If not then how can he be tapped up when he would be allowed to discuss contracts without other clubs? Just to clarify I never said it wasn't possible, just an outrageous claim and one I believe doesn't have validity. However, would love to be proved wrong if he signs for us.

Haven't Pardew and Bruce already said they're not looking at Ba because of his knee? I'm certain Pardew has flat out denied it or it's at least been reported he has.

The point is he is a west ham player with a clause in his contract which he can use if he wishes which means he can leave for nothing, I assume therefore, as he has not yet used this clause he is still a west ham player and therefore, regardless of whether the fee is £0 he is still contracted to the club and therefore he can be tapped up. Although it is a formality, the buying club must let west ham know they are going to talk with the player which they still own! It's a standard relegation release clause. Ba will not activate it until he has a club to go to as it will mean he has a period of not being paid and also he has a better bargaining chip being at a club who are paying him x amount per week rather than being on the rock and roll.

You can stand by your comments all you want and tbh i usually agree with your posts ewerk and think most are sensible and well thought through, however, in this case you seem to be completely dismissing a perfectly possible, and what now seems probable scenario!

Ba was bought for 7 million but a lot of that fee was based on appearances due to his dodgy knee (though in his career he hasn't missed much football until last season apparently) and from what I've heard does have a release clause of next to nothing due to their relegation. Hitzelsperger's release clause is more like 1 million.

All from a west ham supporting mate who claims to be ITK ;)
