American table manners are fucking wild. You see actual celebs now doing the "pin this steak to the table with a fork held vertically in a closed fist while I saw at it maniacally" thing these days.

On the subject of toilet habits, I found public toilets a bit of a minefield. If I’m in a nice clean establishment I’m very happy to wash and dry my hands and then use my little finger to hook on some out of the way part of the door handle that I hope nobody else has ever touched. Particularly the dirty bastards who don’t wash their hands.

 

However, I then find myself in disgusting cesspits like Morrisons Seaburn (trainspotting’ish) and in no way am I prepared to touch anything at all other than my usual little finger exit method.

 

In these situations I am happy enough in my own bodily cleanliness, and yes, I am that dirty bastard.  
 

And those of you btw who do wash your hands and don’t use your little finger are simply getting a handful of dick sweat, every time.

So far this trade deal looks like a win for Trump to me. They're keeping tariffs in place on our goods, albeit not as high as originally suggested, and they've gained some concessions additionally to that. So our net situation remains worse than it was 6 months ago. I'm not celebrating that, Starmer. It's yet another fucking example of how insane Brexit was.

The lower tariff on cars is only for the first 100,000 sold, from what I've read. Then it's back up. No idea how many we usually sell to them but assume it's more than 100k.

Apparently we exported 102k in 2024 so it's about par for what we do, but permits no growth.

 

It's still going to be higher than it was either way though.

In fairness, if he's committed to pretending Brexit isn't a thing then this is all he can actually do. We get shafted by the US because we are a complete irrelevance trading on the last crumbs of our historical prestige. We are spent as a world player and need to either rejoin and contribute to guidance of the EU, creating a more powerful and cohesive international power -  or remain isolated and diminish into at best a regional power that is middling top 20 on economy within the next 50 years, with declining living standards and brain drain into the continent.

 

I don't think I'll ever stop being angry about Brexit. I feel humiliated by it.

My lass, a teacher of 25 years, had the word redundancy chucked at her recently. The pay rises that teachers have had recently, and the ones currently being decided upon have involved no additional funding from government who just say the schools need to find it from their existing budgets. Which as you can imagine, are already stretched further than they should go. 

 

It's fucking ridiculous.
