No, but 6 years after northern rock the economy is still pretty much flatlining, after an encouraging spell around 2009. We then had an election. Dr Gloom 20149 Posted December 10, 2013 Share Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) ok, so the official double dip was reported then later revised upwards but the point stands, which ever way you measure a recession, this has been britain's slowest recovery since the great depression of the 1930s. it needn't have been that way. we weren't in the same boat as greece, portugal and others.
