Blown The Sun money on a flop by the sounds of things.

This signing has already been foreshadowed with comments about 'one to develop', nobody imagines he's the finished article.

LaurensJulien (Julien Laurens)

Riviere is strong physically, has pace with good runs at times. But he is not clinical enough & not strong mentally enough to be top striker

I'll not take anything this bloke says about these players as gospel anymore, after the last lot he got completely wrong.

A lot of people talking about how they think Riviere is overpriced, so I guess I need to explain myself. For starters, he's 24, so just now

Entering his prime. He had the 4th best NPG90 rate in Ligue 1 last season at .51, and the same at Toulouse the year before. Shot rate

between 2.5 to 3 for his career. He's also a capable passer from the front and has 3 ssns of 1.25 KP or above. He's clearly a good player

Basically, it's odd to see a guy who scored at a rate RIGHT NEXT TO CAVANI in France last season, who is only 24, go for under £12-15M

Riviere converted at a 19.6% rate last season. Zlatan? 12.4. Diabate? 16.9. Cavani? 14.9 Lacazette? 17.9

10 goals in 30 appearances last season, 19 of them starts not fantastic but not terrible. I've only seen him play twice tbh so going to reserve judgement until I see him more. Glad to see we're moving for strikers though, with the talk of him being one to develop (something we're not great at I know) it gives me hope we'll pick up another more experienced lad in all.

If anybody was wondering what the major selling point was for us. Was it because he'll fit into the system we intend to play? Nope... It's because....

Pards would like to pay tributary to Mike, himless, Lee, Graham for bursting the bank for this signing and allowing the transfer window to flow smoothly.
