I thought this long and interesting thread should probably go here because it somehow seems appropriate....

Well the Trump administration has now arrested a judge for supposedly helping an immigrant to evade capture.

Smells fashy.

A second one as well. It depends on the charges but if those judges got arrested not for bending the law but for a mere unfavourable interpretation then it’s scary and a clear example of plain fascism.

If judges break the law at a procedural level, they don't get arrested, there's a juficial oversight panel thing. It's pure fascism.

As I said it does depend on the facts and the actual charges. I am not jumping to conclusions yet.

He's deleted that tweet btw

I know. But I haven’t seen anything other about the actual charges yet. It very much depends on the facts. Ate the charges related to a judgement or to actions of her not directly related to her position.

Investigations and even sometimes convictions against judges do happen in Germany as well. Most recently a judge got a suspended sentence for bending the law during the pandemic in relation to mask mandates. He lost his appeal against it a couple of months ago.

Also shows the notion that "establishment" agents like the FBI or any police/armed forces would prevent the worst excesses of fascism by refusing to enact potentially illegal orders is bollocks.
