It wasn't the right time for him a year ago, but after winning his first trophy ever (and ours in a millenia) he might suddenly go aye, maybe I'll pick a job with even more unreasonable scrutiny attached. Carragher is lining Howe up for Liverpool isn't he?

He’s got the arrogance that you need to be a top player. Hence he plays for Real Madrid.

He’s class.

Is he the best player for that role in the England team? TBC, but not my decision.

Aye he's a sensational player IMO, but in Tuchel's set up he just doesn't seem to fit like Rogers and Anderson do.

Even Foden has looked better in his run outs under Tuchel whereas Bellingham seems like he's being asked to do stuff he doesn't want to. So he won't do it, then goes in a strop when he gets subbed off. Takes after his da by the sounds of things

It's not the worst article he's 'written'. He's basically making the point that Howe will have ambition and the club needs to give him the tools to help him realise that ambition, something most of us on here have said at one time or another.

Quote

Premier League clubs have voted to overhaul the league’s financial regulations from the start of the 2026-27 season.

Narrator: No, no they haven't really.

PSR is out!

SCR is in!

PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) limits cumulative losses of £105m over 3yrs. “Don’t lose too much money overall.”

SCR (Squad Cost Ratio) limits player spending at 85% of revenue + player trading profits. “Don’t spend too much of your income on the squad.”

No Anchoring which will come as no surprise to anybody.

black players definitely get more stick. there are still a lot of people out there who don't like "flash" or "arrogant" black footballers - i think wright is spot on about that, sadly. and it's only a few years since three young black english players suffered appalling racist abuse online for missing penalties in a major tournament.

white or black - they all have tattoos, drive flash cars and wear expensive watches but the media made more of it with sterling compared to the other england players.

bellingham is playing for the biggest club in the world and is clearly one of england's best players. who gives a shit if he's an arrogant knob? he has to go to the world cup.

Yeah, pretty much.

The clubs who already earn the most can continue to spend the most.

Those who want to show ambition on the pitch have to grow their revenue off it at least as quickly.

Those whose ambitions are limited to just plodding along won't be overtaken by the suddenly rich.

I think it’s more about the harmony of the squad. I’d hate to spend a month in a hotel (24x7) with a complete bell end that upsets  every one.

The best players don’t always make the best team. I think Tuchel is working out what path to take with him.

So Spurs, Man United, Man City, Liverpool, and Arsenal all have SIGNIFICANT headroom, and the ambitious clubs like us, Forest, and Villa, are already basically hitting the buffers.

Which of these 14 fucking halfwitted club CEOs voted for this this and then DIDN'T vote for the anchoring ffs.

On the plus side, it's now over to David "Hoppy" Hopkinson to start imagining up some wild revenue streams and making them happen pronto. That's all that stands between our current situation and is starting to completely take the piss.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it looks like this is only based on the spending vs current year of revenue, is that right? That would be something at least if it takes out the drag on spending vs profits in previous periods.

Meme coin called #TOON, massive launch with all the players and legacy stars piling in.

#TOON rises rapidly from £0.01 to £375 at which time NUFC sell their massive bag, rugging most of the fanbase in the process but getting an extra £500m to spunk on shit wingers, extraneous keepers and 500 additional seats in the vaporware stadium.

I haven't seen the interview or discussion with Wright.  So its probably an attention grabbing headline, but the quote is;

not ready for black superstar

Is this just in football?  Is this, just in relation to the England team?  What is it?

I am  not playing the 'oooo when is it straight man month' and that gammon shit.  I just think Wright is wrong on this.  But, I shall try and find the episode that's in.

I don't care about players having swagger and confidence.  But IMO Bellingham is tipping the scales to bell end.  You saw it at times under Southgate where he would act like a child to his own team mates etc.  Mbappe acts like that and a load in here call him a cunt.  But apparently its ok for Bellingham to do that?

here’s the link I watched, for context

Of course you’re not a gammon, but I watched the clip last night and wright struck a chord with me when he talked about pogba and Sterling. I always remember thinking the amount of shit both players got in certain quarters was disproportionate. Coincidence? Or did the colour of their skin play a role?

I’m not sure who Wright is talking about at the end of the clip - dunno whether it’s a reporter or a social media troll or someone else who is relentlessly going after Jude.

Ah thanks for sharing that.

That is interesting on who he is talking about at the end of that.  Its probably a journo like you say.  Tuchel has played it perfectly IMO.  He's not been negative at all and not called him out. He will deal with it in house and leave it there.

English press do like to pop a younger player on a pedestal. Makes them a more exposed target when the time comes to take them down.
I guess it comes down to the following for me: Bellingham's behaviour was poor and he should be criticised, but it's been made a way bigger issue because of the colour of his skin.

I get what Wright is saying about "uppity" black men, but I think there's something English about not reacting well to any kind of boastfulness. When Rooney was in his pomp and strutting around, he got pelters, so too did Beckham. Kane doesn't get that because he's understated, even his celebration is a muted half jump, half fist pump thing.

I'm stepping way out onto the thinnest tip of the ledge of Talking About Stuff I Know Little About here but, I wonder if black British men idolize black American stars and try to emulate their swagger? A swagger that doesn't translate across the pond?
