what's everyone's view on lingard? weird that he hasn't had a sniff back at man u under different managers. it does have a whiff of another joe willock situation about it - a purple patch on loan that he may or may not be able to replicate again. not that he wouldn't walk into our starting 11 or owt. get the cunt signed.

He’s a good player sitting behind a lot of excellent (or expensive) ones at Man U.

if he has any substance he’ll be after an England spot for the World Cup and coming here and putting the work in would likely be a death knell for his chance of that since he would be less likely to get a move to first team football in summer.

Am I misunderstanding your second para here? You seem to suggest coming here would ruin his chances of a WC spot?

He was unlucky not to make it to the euros after his form at West Ham. If he arrives here with that mentality and scores a similar number of goals he could save our season.

I’d be amazed if he has the same impact he had at West Ham playing along the shite in our team but he has to be a better option than Longstaff. Put him alongside Joelinton and hopefully get a replacement for shelvey.

he outperformed last season for West Ham, who weren’t anywhere as shit as we are and still didn’t make for England squad for the euros so you can imagine he’d be potentially reluctant to join our sinking ship

Ive not written it correctly, it’s meant to say “and not putting the work in”

Surly the getting of Lingard in before Leeds would be a quick process?  If the clubs agree?

Isn't he still out with an ankle injury though?
