I’m looking forward to the madness in here for the summer. We’ve got a few going close to stir crazy already.

I’m hoping for a GK, RW/ST and CB for big signings. And also a CM and another CB for youngsters. I think we’d be looking to move one of Willock and Longstaff as a PSR offset. And, of course, a pisstake “sale” of the Greek to some PSR crippled sap.

This will hopefully be a big transfer window for us and one where the likes of Villa and potentially Forest are significantly weakened at the same time. Spurs will remain shit. ManU too.

I think Willock and we'll keep Longstaff due to his home grown player status. We'll obviously also try to sell Targett. The rest of our players I don't think Howe will be interested in selling given we will have at a bare minimum 8 additional CL games, and the ambition to do well in domestic Cups. I agree it's striker, CB, natural RW as the priorities. Then potentially GK, young CB and maybe a tricky attacking midfield player with a shot.

Something I've not seen much talk about, since we're all focussed on upgrading certain spots in the first 11 is that I think we could really do with a joelinton-alike.

He misses more games than Tonali or Bruno, who can be somewhat covered by Miley if they do miss games but we don't have another player of Joelintons profile (hence the drop to two man midfields when hes not available)

He's the most physically dominant CM in the league from what I've seen, pace, power, running and aggression all bundled up and we could genuinely do with someone of a similar skillset to lighten his load a bit.

We are so much worse when he doesn't play and he does regularly pick up cards or small injuries.

that’s the problem though. He’s unique.

He is unique, so we have to have an alternate plan when he's not available.

Miley has the size and strength, not the sheer athleticism or the mongrel but at least one of those could come.

Watched a Scots lad play that role for Napoli with aplomb (and better finishing) the other day, but that ship (having been widely derided when we were linked) has sailed.

Agreed, I see miley as the bruno/tonali understudy so a box to boxer as well would leave our midfield depth much more complete

I dunno if Howe sees it this way but I’d like to see us sign a number 10. We are unlikely to find another player with big Joe’s profile but I think we need a plan b when we’re required to play a more possession-based system. There have been a few games like Everton this season. We’re brilliant when teams leave space for us to break into but still sometimes struggle to break down teams that sit deep. So another midfielder who has the technical level to link up with Bruno and Sandro but also play a bit higher up the pitch and thread those balls through for Isak to run on to.
