Have you learned nothing from your aston villa stats debacle?

were finishing in the conference league thanks to you now:suicide:

To go from this morning until the end of the season unbeaten is champions form.  We don't have the squad depth for that IMO.  We have been superb recently and ridden our luck a couple of times.  There was bound to be some bumps along the way and it's a same this one was against them boring cunts.  But I would rather we lost against them and beat / get a point v Spurs.

Spurs fans were chanting for Levy Out today and Davison Sanchez had to be subbed off cos his own fans were booing every time he touched the ball.

All is not well with that lot, if we can get an early goal and the crowd is up for it, they might fully buckle.

Either way, they don't look like putting a run together to end the season on a high.

Wait Sanchez was subbed ON at the 35 minute mark and lasted TWENTY THREE minutes before having to be subbed OFF on 58 minutes.

Anthony Gordon would have knocked Stellini clean out if he'd done that to him.

Brighton have looked more of a concern for a while to me. They were robbed against spurs last week. Reckon they’re the real deal and will run us close. The good thing is we play both spurs and Brighton at home. Win those two and we’ve pretty much got champions league

They're effectively 8 points behind with one game in hand. They're gonna have to put on an incredible run to overhaul is.

Three games in a week coming up to get them good and knackered. Them and Man United drawing in the cup would be canny to get more fixtures in for the pair of them.

Opta's equivalent. They give us about a 12% chance of finishing outside the top 4.

For this Opta graphic, they run the remaining matches through their model 100,000 times.

Which means that on 12,000 of those simulations we finished outside the top 4. Seems a lot doesn't it.

We just have to hope we aren't about to live out one of those 12,000 simulations.

It could be worse though, the simulations have Arsenal blowing the league on 55,000 of the 100,000 simulations.

That's the beauty of football and sport though isn't it, come the last few games it could be confidence, momentum, bad luck with injuries etc. that could be the deciding factor.

Agree with gloomy on Brighton. Incredibly well run outfit, play good attacking football and can beat anyone on their day. More worried about them than Spurs, as they're well...Spurs. If we beat them next week that could be that for them.

Brighton are definitely more of a threat to us than Spurs are. Spurs are passive, disjointed and they don't look fit, however they do have some exceptional players who can dig them out of trouble from a femto-chance.

Brighton, by contrast, are hard-pressing, cohesive and fit as they come. They also have some exceptional players, Mitoma chief amongst them. Trippier would have to be on his game to pocket the lad.

I think we've a comparatively easy run in, and this Villa result came at the right time, imo. Should give the boys a rocket up their collective nipsy.

It’s vital that we get a result off Brighton whenever it is we play them. Could be a midweek game sandwiched in between Arsenal and Leeds if they reach the FA Cup final…

Aye, the fact we are at home against both Spurs and Brighton really puts qualification in our hands. I think we actually stand a decent chance at doing well against Arsenal too as we seem to be in their heads a bit and the pressure is also getting to them now.

Our remaining fixtures:

5 home games:

Spurs, Southampton, Arsenal, Leicester & Brighton.

3 away games:

Everton, Leeds & Chelsea

We’re on 56 points. What do we need? Another 14? The consensus is 70 points  usually guarantees top 4.

Beat Spurs, Southampton, Leicester, Leeds. Plus a couple of draws.

Feels like we’re almost there if we can forget about the no show at Villa and beat spurs on Sunday.

The only anxiety is if that Villa performance weighs on the players and they carry it into the next game. Lose to spurs and the momentum for the run in shifts massively.

That Warnock kid on sky thinks we've got a hard run in for the top 4 saying a couple of times we've still got Arsenal and Man City to play. Obviously both times nobody corrected him.

Him and that stupid lass agreeing that "Yeah villa can catch Newcastle for Champions League" for no other reason than mathematically it's possible.

Fuck sake is that really the question you're being asked?
