Alexander Isak

I think this will keep happening to us for a while yet. Find a rough gem polish it up and have a bigger club unsettle them and grab them. It’s the depressing next step in the development. At least we have players that other clubs actually want now.

As long as we get a big fee and invest wisely we’ll be move through this stage and onto to better things. When we’re big enough that other premier league clubs stop being more attractive we’ll really kick on. The last few transfer windows don’t provide much confidence that we’ve got the people to deliver this yet.

Who’s the next Livramento? Who’s the next Isak? Even unproven exciting prospects are costing £30mil+ so can’t get too many of them wrong.

Have to trust the club to find these players and give Eddie time to make them shine.

I suggested that and was immediately shot down by the Guru of the forum

Not like Dougle to be off hand like that :cuppa:

If he's referring to me as the guru, then please produce the evidence that that happened.

You're the forum Gnu.

One thing that has occured to me... If what Hope has said is accurate did Mitchell jump because he knew he'd made an absolute cunt of one of the most important negotiations in the club's history? Did he realise that one of the best 4 or 5 players any of us have seen play for us was leaving at the end of the season and he knew he was mostly responsible for it? :cuppa:

I think he realised that everyone in the building other than Eales thought he was a cunt.

Al Hilal are offering him £600k a week (plus bonuses) per the Guardian, no mention of a fee.

I'd love that. Fuck off to rot there

That fee would be staggering. Maybe the gloves coming off?

What is the deal if Isak goes to Saudi @ewerk?  I.e in terms of PSR?  It doesn't count towards it?

It does count for PSR and the Prem, but wouldn't count for UEFA calculations.

Is it unreasonable to expect £300m+ for Isak? Grealish went for £100m and that was a few years ago.

I was thinking £200m plus they loan him back to us for a year with full wage contributions, plus a 50% sell on.

According to some reports they're preparing to bid £130 Mill, we'll knock that back I suspect but it sets a high mark for the vermin to try and match/better.

In like terms, I would not accept a bid of Grealish (at his best) and Anderson for Isak. Is this too basic a way to look at it?

Thinking about it, it may be ok for UEFA, the related transaction stuff they zero out has been the ladies team/hotel bollocks, transfers may be different.

They aren’t.

I doubt very much that Isak will have any interest in going to Saudi.  English clubs are not getting into a bidding war with the Saudis as every one knows most players want to play at the highest level.
