They just need to recognise that this is the off-ramp for the situation and allow Howe and the player to use it for the benefit of Newcastle United. It's the only remaining scenario where we actually come out as the winners. Liverpool don't get their man, Isak doesn't get his move, and we get one of the best strikers in Europe for another season AND most crucially the time to find his replacement. Yep, I don't see any situation where he leaves us this window, now. He's got two options: 1. Fall back into line, do the best by the club and team potentially negotiating an adjustment to his contract to define a reasonable exit strategy for all concerned. 2. Be put out to pasture and miss out on the season, Champions League, World Cup and destroy any reputation he's built up.

Thats why IMO it would be helpful if the club publicly stated that he’s not going and allowed the “PR” to start before our 1st game, thus minimising any toxic crowd reaction. (Based on my view that we are struggling to get ANY strikers in) This public statement would follow private legal communication to Isak and his agent). It is absolutely the opinion of the self appointed elite clubs in this country, the weasels in the servile media that act on their behalf and the millions of online dweebs who wouldn't know the Kop end from their own bell ends that Newcastle United aren't entitled to the services of a player of the level of Isak and that it is an affront to them that he plays for us. I imagine Liverpool definitely decided they wanted him after the cup final and the point that it would almost certainly help to neutralise a growing threat wouldn't be lost upon them and would have been up there in their thinking...

I'd sooner they allow Liverpool to continue to embarrass themselves with lowball bids between now and the end of the window. It would allow Isak to see that they don't really want him too. Then the window shuts, reality comes crashing in, and we offer him the "sack your agent" approach as a way of reintegration. It's possible that one of the outcomes here is that he gets a new deal with a release clause for next summer. There is nobody inside the club that is going to want to deal with this Lemic prick on those discussions. So you just make it a prerequisite of him getting his payrise.

Got me thinking about that Irish twat on YouTube going on about Liverpool having always been one of the biggest clubs in the world. They were in the second division and had never won the FA Cup (still the biggest domestic prize then) when Real Madrid were winning their 5th European Cup
Gemmill 63306
There was some scouse cunt on Talksport earlier going on about how Liverpool have never bought success, trying to claim that it all started with Shankly and now they're reaping the rewards of that, and suddenly they're able to spend in this window. Went completely unchallenged of course. Mind it was Jim White who must have a sub 100 IQ. 1

They’ve been massively successful and that’s obviously commendable. But this ‘special’ bollocks is money. If we could offer players £100k more a week than them, Man Utd, Chelsea etc could you’d soon see what really motivates players to join clubs

Craig 12389
Offered less because they claimed they couldn't afford him. Pulled out and signed Robbie Keane for double. Unsettled Barry in the process who then went to Man City. Absolute cunts! But they're completely innocent in all this.

Then that spell was broken largely due to tragedies towards the end of their dominance. Then they were a decent cup side, wasting millions chasing a league title that Ferguson then Wenger and Chelsea shut them out from. A lot of them date their financial upturn from the time they were "hours from bankruptcy" under Hicks and Gillette (I knew they had to sell but I don't remember that much of a carry on about their perilous situation, more myth making I think) but it's UEFA and their coefficient merit payments who truly keep these clubs where they are nowadays, all that UEFA history is where the true paydirt is nowadays, money for fuck all which is ironic when you think about who wanted to break away and do the ESL... their payments increased as a bribe after they had a rethink . That's what truly gets my goat. Rewarded for threats to leave. Remind you of anything recently? 😑 Edited August 13 by PaddockLad
Gemmill 63306
Every time they've had Martin O'Neil on since Isak refused to go to Singapore, he's told this story. He's told it AT LEAST three times now on the same show, and Jim White just keeps teeing it up every time.

Liverpool will continue to "be interested" right up until the window closes to provide maximum disruption to the start of our season. As far as they're concerned, they're not doing anything wrong - they made a bid, we said no, they said they wouldn't make another unless we gave them the green light. IF that was how things worked, then that would be the saga done and dusted. We all know that's not how it works though. Liverpool have their media chums to keep stirring the pot so Isak and his agent think there's still a chance to get the move done. Once that window closes is when this starts to get fixed.

I was in a box full of Liverpool fans at Wembley whose agenda was entirely "how much will we end up having to give you for Isak?" I said there and then NUFC wouldn't be selling him to LFC. I stand by it, particularly given our response these last couple of weeks.

Even that was interrupted by Forest, Villa, Everton & Arsenal. Man Utd by contrast were at the top of their game for almost double that (1992 to 2013).
