In the nicest possible way it’s the likes of him being “radicalised by the grief of Munich” in the 60s that has made Man Utd one of the biggest clubs on the planet. Ive  always resented these fuckers most tbh :cuppa:

My thoughts exactly and guess what? The cunt never turned up even though his missus probably wanted to say bye to wor lass.

tottenham will beat brighton on sunday.

man utd will lose to aston villa and finish the season 17th.

they're over £1b in debt

ratcliffe announced net losses of 113m at the beginning of this year with further losses of over £300m over the previous 3 years.

they lost £40m to covid. (i know)

they've just seen a £100m windfall disappear over the bay of biscay.

they'll likely spend a fucking fortune this summer!

I know some lads from work who are London-based / from the south east. One’s actually from Kent and ‘supports’ Man Utd AND Crystal Palace  and the other is a Liverpool fan. They’re both spot on and the LFC fan in particular knows his football and played at a very decent level. But I just struggle to take their football loyalties seriously. There’s fucking thousands like them all over the country too. Just glory hunters. You don’t really get that with Spurs. I can’t say I like them very much, although I do have some family from the Pinner / Northwood area who are ‘proper’ and followed THFC all over in the 80s. They’re a bit older than me but used to always stay with us / other relatives when they played us or the Mackems. I even went to see them v Sunderland at Roker Park once in the old Canon League Division One. So I was chuffed for them. They’re good lads. I don’t see Spurs kicking on either really as Levy is too cautious and they’re about 6 players off being a good side. On the other hand, Man Utd being deprived of CL at the moment when they need it most is fucking brilliant.

tbh I think he’s a decent coach who’s inherited an absolute shambles and no appointment was going to sort that place out in half a season.

Bit early for anyone to be judging him just yet. They’re not a million miles off the mess they were in in 1986 when Ferguson took over. Took him 3.5 years to get anywhere, I think they need to give someone a similar timeframe.

The difference with Fergie is that his No.1 priority was to win. He wasn't evangelical in the way he wanted the team to play. Amorim's approach seems to be that he will set his team up his way no matter what and winning is secondary to that. I can understand his thinking in that he was successful with this system before so he wants to get it working again but just because it was successful in Portugal doesn't mean it will work in the PL, especially when he has inherited a squad totally unsuited to it. The best managers can be tactically flexible, Eddie Howe can easily change tactics during a game but Amorim appears to be a blinkered one trick pony.

I know a lot of people complain about the disproportionate coverage Man U get in the media but when you’ve been surrounded by ‘United’ fans your whole life you can’t help but absolutely drink this all in.

Ferguson or anyone else doesn’t get 3 and a half years to sort stuff out at a big club. It’s a complete anomaly and has been for decades. Another thing, as ewerk mentions, is that Ferguson’s adaptability was one of his huge strengths. He rebuilt great sides in a few occasions but also didn’t mind how he won at times, just so long as he did.

You probably can't chuck things at players anymore though.

that awful goal pretty much summed up an awful final between two awful teams

the wife's a red so i couldn't celebrate on the outside and had to say soothing things.  she knew what i was doing so silence ensued.

sweet sweet silence

That goal-line clearance by van de Ven was unreal BTW.

van Dijk does that and we'd be hearing about it since time immemorial.

I had an uncle over there, married into the family who supported us, (he was probably a glory hunter himself as he'd have been a young lad when Wembley was 'St James' Park South to paraphrase our LC final opponents), anyway, he literally couldn't give a mg of a fuck about Sunderland, why would he? but he loathed Man United because he must've got it all barrels over there especially as he wasn't exactly shy himself.

Mocking Megan Mullally GIF by Will & Grace

Why don't you just marry him?

Second highest wages in the league (near enough twice ours and three times Forest's). A team STACKED with internationals. Youth teams dominant because they have a HUGE scouting network and budget. Sure they weren't doing great when he arrived but there's no excuse for how far back they have fallen since then.

He knew who was there when he signed on for the job and has had a transfer window as well. He's like the reverse Eddie Howe in getting performances out of their players. It's fantastic.

Easy Spurs fans, let's not sugar-coat this. One of the worst teams in 2025 narrowly beat one of the few that are worse. Enjoy your moment in the sun, but it's hardly the great victory you're now making it out to be

You'd hate to be a low paid Manchester United employee this morning, knowing what's probably going through his head.

How tall is Ratcliffe or are levy and Ange just 4 foot 8 midgets?

Barry Davies is my all time favourite commentator. I liked David Coleman too. There was some other bloke at the bbc then too, hung around like a bad smell for decades after, he was a right cunt…
